Getting it right

A wonderful day to everyone out there ❤️

We all make mistakes, it's simply part of life and also a way to learn for the future but there are also things we do get right in the first place.

For example one thing I got really right in my life was to take care of my mental health and join 7cups.

Let's share some of these good moments. What is something you got incredibly right in your life?

@amiablePeace77 I think the most recent thing I did right was become a mentor here at 7cups. It has introduced me to so many wonderful listeners. I am so glad I had this experience of meeting them and sharing a little of my experience so they could tweak their listening skills.

The only thing I did right in my life is breaking up with my ex boyfriend.

Good that you left the relationship when you thought it was time and have no regrets about it. Staying in a negative relationship can spoil the whole life.

The amazing things I got right. Protected my daughter and myself from my abusive husband. Got her and I out. Got therapy for us both even though she was only 2 1/2 half and very verbal. Then worked on getting my love antenna right through hard work in therapy. When I wasn’t looking and actually doing something to help me cope, my amazing 2nd and final forever husband found me and my daughter. It was my daughter that asked him, “when are you going to marry my mommy.” We had the ring from my previous marriage made into the tiniest ring I have ever seen and gave it to her. She is 22 now and wears it on a necklace. We have be married now 16 years and no matter what life has handed my husband and I, we always manage. His mantra is, “Everything is going to be fine, we always manage, it’s all good babe.”

Thank you to the person that posted today’s question. It made me feel really good to think about good things I got right. These were things I had really worked for too. Absolutely Love my husband and daughter.

I'm getting little things right every day...voicing what I think in a quiet way, or little gestures that are good to others and me. I'm working on improving my mental health in tiny, little steps every day.

The incredibly right thing I've done recently is thinking about my future. Which is honestly a terrifying thought but I need this to move forward.

I'm glad you don't let your fear stand in the way of thinking about what to do best in future.

Leaving away an abusive relation, avoiding triggers, and not taking out my anger (not always though but most of the times I am glad that I kept my mouth shut)

@ferventflame

An abusive relation can leave us with a lot of emotional turmoil. Good that you left but also are aware of triggers. I hope coming here will help you to process what has happened and to deal with your anger.

Nothing. At this point after years of re-evaluation I'm fully sure I've never done anything right, not a single thing in my life.

So now i have no illusions that i ever will. I'm no one with no escape from pain.

Your words show how much you’re hurting from the past. I hope coming here will help you to heal and that one day you will say to yourself, joining the site was something you really got right.

Hello

I would have to say one of the things that I managed to get right in my life is continuing friendships with ladies that I've known since childhood. The history , reminiscing about the crazy things we did when we were kids there's never a quiet moment with these ladies the have picked me up time and time again when I have fallen or failed.
