Common Chatroom Badges, Icons & Links Explained

As a Global Chatroom Moderator I often get asked what badges such as "Wise One" mean and how you unlock it, I decided to make this guide to explain the most common badges, icons and links you will come across in the Member chatrooms.

This post will be updated frequently for missing images and further additions.

Animal Icons: These cute and adorable animal icons represent when a member / listener joined us here at 7Cups. In this instance I displayed the Pink Butterfly (November 2021) and the Brown Kangaroo (June 2021).

Newbie Badge: This badge is displayed on new members / listeners who have been on 7Cups less than 1 month (4 weeks). If you see a Newbie in the chat make sure you welcome them to 7Cups, be kind and make them feel welcome.

Supportive Smile Badge: This is a Member only badge which is earned for completing 50 group chats and earning 150 compassion hearts.

Friendly Face Badge: This is a Member only badged which is earned for completing 100 group chats and earning 300 compassion hearts.

Helping Hand Badge: This is a Member only badge which is earned for completing 200 group chats and earning 600 compassion hearts.

Wise One Badge: This is a Member only badge which is earned for completing 500 group chats and earning 1500 compassion hearts. It is the highest Member level badge available in terms of chats and compassion hearts.

Mod Badge: These are the moderators of 7Cups, they moderate the chatrooms to ensure they maintain a safe and positive environment. You can always PM us if you need anything. We are happy to help.

ATL (Adult-Teen Listener) Badge: ATLs are adults who have chosen to continue supporting teens. They undergo background searches and a video interview with the 7Cups community team for safety so there's nothing to panic about here.

Community Leader Badge: Community Leader badge is an umbrella badge that displays when a user has specific other leadership badges such as being a Sharing Circle Host.

Refer Icon: This is to be used when a member / listener is displaying signs of crisis related topics in their messages, clicking this sends an alert to that member advising them to visit the crisis resources. This is confidential and they will never know you referred them so do not panic about doing this, you are doing the right thing.

Mute / Report Icon: This allows you to personally mute a member / listener if their messages consist of topics etc. that you personally find triggering. Doing this means you will no longer see this individuals message unless you unmute them, Reporting is used when the message breaches the 7Cups chatrooms rules (Explained below).

Chatroom Rules Icon: Clicking this allows you to read the chatroom rules, each chatroom may have slightly different rules so it is important to read and understand these. Rules are enforced by the 7Cups moderators.

Participants Icon: This displays the number of recent active participants in the chatroom, clicking this displays a list of those who have engaged within the chatroom recently.
