Hi. I’m in north east US, divorced, kids grown and launched. Had to stop working 7 yrs ago from health issues, and recovered some ability but my life is in limbo. I’m lost on finding any new purpose. I’m shaken after all the set backs and having to rebuild everything at this age. I seek friendship and comeraderie. Sp?

It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, and navigating such transitions can feel overwhelming. Finding a new purpose is a deeply personal journey, but connecting with others and exploring new interests might help.

@Heather225 Hi Im Alida mom of 2 teenagers and husband who still at 49 needs a wakeup call! Im going through a lot at this time financially and emotionally and im struggling to cope. I suffered a stroke at 40 4 years ago and struggling to get back to my feet I always took care of my boys but im struggling. I started a new skill and creating a online business and learn every day how to succeed but im stuck because I don't have support from the one person I stood beside most of my grown-up life. I would jist like some guidance to how to get unstuck or out of my head so that I can can get where I want to be... Sorry for venting

Hi. I joined 7 cups last week after having a particularly difficult moment with a very important person in my life and realized that I needed to deal with some things I have left unattended to for a while. I needed someone to talk to and found that person here. I'm 50, married, have 2 grown daughters ages 20 and 24. I live in Minnesota but am originally from Ohio. I work in the IT field as a software systems analyst. I'm here to be supportive and also partake of the support of this community as I learn to have self-compassion and learn to cope with some deep insecurities stemming from years of intense bullying in elementary and middle school.
