How do I stop the feeling that everyone hates me?

Try to challenge your feelings. 'Do I have a reason to feel like that?' 'Are there proof for these thoughts?' 'What causes the feeling and thoughts?' Once you've evaluated where the feeling comes from and how reasonable/truthful it is, it could be easier to fight it. Sometimes there are completely unrelated reasons for our feelings and thoughts. Often, the feeling of everyone hating me comes from low self-esteem, from overanalysing every little detail about others. For example, you tried to start a conversation with someone but it didn't take off. You automatically think the person must not like you or you said something wrong. But it could be something unrelated, it could be that the person had to rush to do something or the topic of conversation wasn't something they could/wanted to talk about. It's completely unrelated to hating/disliking you, but analysing it without challenging the reason behind it can lead to wrong assumptions and unnecessary upset.

Maybe try proving to yourself that this fact is not true. Ask your friends if they actually hate you. Ask your parents if they hate you. If you can prove to yourself constantly that there are people who don’t hate you, then you know that everyone doesn’t hate you. Prove your brain wrong. Eventually, you could move to acquaintances and by doing this, you’ll gain more confidence and you may care less if people hate you. Because you know that there are people who care about you and those people who don’t hate you and do care about you, those are the people that matter. Everyone else, not so much.

You can focus on how you look at yourself other than how other look at you. It may be hard to do that, but in the end, you will feel better about yourself and be more confident. A big part of it is building self-esteem, which is difficult. It is easier to listen to others than be confident in how you feel about yourself. People tend to put others down to make themselves feel better. It’s easier to say it then do it. But if you wake up every morning and tell yourself, I’m amazing, who cared what they think, you’ll have a better outlook on yourself. Don’t listen to them! You are beautiful inside and out!
