Ooh can I also mention, since I remember you talked about it in a previous thread too, soooo many studio ghibli movies can be included in the "happy"/"feel-good" genre as well. I love them so much and they definitely put me in a great mood.🥰

Omg; yes, gibli movies I think for sure are comforting...do you have any favourites?
I like Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaa, and Princess Mononoke. And recently saw The Boy and the Heron in theatres and will add that to the liked list. I like Spirited Away too. They're kind of weird sometimes but mostly good for sure.
I think Nancy Meyers movies are good too...Something's Gotta Give, It's Complicated...
And some others I keep on the roster are Good As It Gets and for a while My Big Fat Greek Wedding 💍💒

Spirited Away is on every Studio Ghibli/Anime lover's list I think hehe and rightfully so. I love it too.🥰
My neighborhood Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo, When Margaret was there etc are some other that do have some sub-themes but are just an overall quite comfy and wholesome to watch. I'm sure there's more but right at the top of my head, I could come up with these hehe.
Thank you for sharing these, I'll definitely check 'em out soon. I added Nausica to my to-watch list after you mentioned watching it and having a wholesome cry-sesh, the last time hehe.

I agree with those other gibli movies as well for comfort watches; the more family oriented movies he made are definitely not as weird so that's great thanks for sharing that 😊
The Margaret movie was ringing a faint bell, so did a little search on YouTube, found it and added to watch later as well! It was a bit tricky because it's 'Marnie', I prefer subtitles to dubs (So had to do a bit more searching.) and am stubborn and self sabotaging basically in general so was going down some rabbit hole on a video I saw recently about people who watch anime...

Totally agreed and I feel, in general too, family oriented and movies for kids are usually of the feel-good/happy/wholesome genre and I absolutely love them!🥰

Omg Fantasia was my go-to whenever I needed to get a scary movie out of my mind! At least Fantasia minus that one scary part at the end haha... we'd always leave that part out.

Yes, Miracle on 34th Street is a classic! must-see movie! Personally I recommend you watch the older one first (1947, black&white). It has Maureen O'Hara and Natalie Wood, John Payne, and Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle (Santa Claus). IMDb info "Miracle on 34th Street" (1947) In my area of the world, this is usually considered a Christmas movie, but it certainly doesn't have to be Christmas time to watch it :) The newer version Miracle on 34th Street (1994) is in color, but it just not quite as nostalgic for me, haha.
Another 'family film,' as they are sometimes called, that I would like to recommend is named "Andre." This movie is based on a true story of a seal pup that is befriended and cared for by a young girl and her family. The seal grows up and migrates (as he should) but continues to come back and visit his young friend. It is a very sweet story. !Look at that! "Andre" was also put out in 1994! :O

I don't know if you like animation, but I really love the animated Barbie movies. The fantasy and fairy tale ones are my favorites, but all of the ones I have seen so far have been really enjoyable and wholesome, and never fail to make me feel better 😊

Oh! another recommendation I have for you - all y'all - is Sister Act (1992) and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993) These are both very funny, very musical, and have a good message to them too! <3 Platy

Jim Jarmusch's forever gem comforting film. Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston as vampires. Bohemian and super calming. Hilarious too if you are only into some great music. Only lovers left alive, Jim Jarmusch (2013).
It's not a movie but a short anime series called Little Witch Academia. I found it very uplifting and hopeful.
