Weekly Prompt #18: What are your main sources of stress in your life?
Hello everyone, I hope you are all being easy on yourself this week.
A couple of weeks ago we discussed: Are there any particular thoughts or worries that frequently occupy your mind? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts for discussion. I enjoyed them. I hope you all did too. If you didn't share yours, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you.
This week's prompt: What are your main sources of stress in your life?
This week I want us to reflect and explore this topic that can help us understand and explore the sources of our stress. Please take a moment to identify the areas that are causing you the most stress. Let's get started and all thoughts are welcomed!
Note: A helpful tip from @hope : "I recommend the book 'How to stop worrying and start living'. You can find the audiobook on YouTube"

@ASilentObserver break up, my friends, school and my siblings
@SoftCloud1111 It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life that is causing stress. Relationships and school can both be challenging things to deal with. What feelings are coming up for you as you think about all of this?
@ASilentObserver mostly anger, regret, sadness and dispair.
My mind gets occupied by work mostly. While I wait for other factors to come into play for work and volunteer work. I miss enjoying the weekend. Volunteer jobs are busy as a regular job now. Too much going on for my taste. It’s either let tasks be a problem or get it done. Not much time for a peaceful mind unless I get sick from overworking.
@MoonLightShadow423 It sounds like you are feeling overwhelmed with all that's on your plate between work and volunteering. Managing such a busy schedule while also wanting personal time can really pull you in different directions. You are dedicated to helping others, but it's also important to care for your own well-being.
My parents yelled at me this morning about Dad's bad habit of starting to drive when people are not buckled up yet. But about 50% of car accidents happen within the area of the home which is why I don't like it when Dad starts driving either out of the driveway or in a parking lot when I'm not full buckled up yet. Mom just told me after I told her I was buckled up to "Shut up and be happy" -well I don't want Dad to regret driving without letting anyone be buckled up if a *** car accident happens anywhere.
@Disneywoman It sounds like this morning's conversation left you feeling concerned for everyone's safety. Exploring ways to feel heard while also protecting loved ones can be difficult. You care deeply about their well-being.
@ASilentObserver what I care about is not **** dying because of Dad's impatient to get to *** places during the *** day whether its to a friend's *** house, to the *** train station. to *** church, to *** grocery stores or **** home after being at one or all of the *** above
Anything related to work, whether its getting a job or after getting job adjusting and working
@Mekuland3050 It is understandable that work related matters can be very stressful. What kinds of thoughts and feelings come up for you regarding adjusting or getting a job? You must feel quite overwhelmed at times dealing with these pressures.
When i was at work it was so much pressured i felt anxiety and suffocating after quitting i feel i should have tried harder to cope with i could do better i feel like a loser constantly now i am trying to getting new job i just get rejection after rejection and feeling hopeless i think i ruined my life i am never getting anything anymore i cry everyday regret
@Mekuland3050 you have been through a difficult time at your previous job and with rejections in your job search. Feeling anxiety, pressure and hopelessness are understandable. Focusing on your strengths and what brings you joy may help during this transition. If I can ask, what helped you cope with stress in the past?
@ASilentObserver
A thought of my bf. Who wants to run away from me :'(
@kawaiCat It sounds like thoughts of your boyfriend wanting to run away from you are causing you a lot of stress. You must be feeling quite hurt.We are all here with you to listen to and to support, Cat
@ASilentObserver no he was dead actually and I was not able to accept it so I blamed him that he is trying to run away from me :(
@ASilentObservermy main sources of stress is a child that i am trying to accept that is disrespectful to not only me but her mom and grandma and get this shes only 7. My wife withdrawing from me and i don't know where i stand in my marriage right now.
@Narcissticallyabused0317 It sounds like a difficult situation with stress from multiple sources. A child's behavior can feel challenging to accept at times. You mentioned concerns about your marriage as well. This must bring up many emotions. I am glad you took your small steps to share your experience. How are you coping with the pressures you're facing?
@ASilentObserverI had to leave the Marriage the narcissism became violent but i still cant helt but to love her but i havent had any contact with her since i left
Dad just wants me to stress out by making homemade soups with Mom's help that I could freeze but knowing me-it would take me more then 10 years to eat them and its super inconvenient for lunch or supper for me to have to wait for the *** soup to thaw and then having to count out at least 5 scoops of the soup vs if I could just dump out a soup from a *** can for supper in 1 go and not have to worry about freezing or thawing of anything. Not to mention even if Mom and I DID make home-make soup it would not be something like gumbo, or any other "unsual" flavour of soups (unusual flavours of soups=means soups that Mom or Dad would not likely to use to make suppers or other soups with to eat as a family) and not to mention Mom already has her hands *** full with church events and other things she doesn't exactly want to waste more time with me when all she probably wants to do is to have naps during the day when she has no plans of any kind.
@Disneywoman It sounds like making homemade soup is adding more pressure than you feel ready for. What concerns are weighing most heavily for you in this situation? I can understand not wanting to take on more responsibilities that feel overwhelming.
@ASilentObserver I think you majorly misunderstood my post. It just my Dad wanted me to make homemade soup that I could FREEZE so that on days I don't want to make my own supper that I could instead get it out of the freezer and use that soup and only I would be using the soup not the family using the soup.
But I don't like that idea because its too much work to make soup to freeze that I highly wouldn't eat it that often so it would take me to "infinity and beyond" before I would eat it all up and even if I did want soup to eat I would just prefer to be lazy and just dump soup out of a can instead of having to count about 8-10 spoon measurements for supper.
