Hi everyone! We are almost at the end of the year and I am so excited to present the last dinner of the year, with @giggleBubbles6722! For those that don't know, Dinner With Our Alumni is a series of small interviews that I conduct with 7 Cups Academy alumni to know more about their journey in the program. This post is dedicated to the Content Development and Marketing (CDM) Program! The aim is to spread more awareness about the program and hope everyone gives it a read!

So who is Bubbles? She is a muslim female who is trying to change the world one conversation at a time. She has a background in Microbiology and has a ton of passion for inspiring the youth. She loves to play chess, doing volunteer work, and taking naps (looooove that). You will not believe this but they like to do random mathematics for fun and calls themselves a proud nerd (nerd we can get on with but math for fun??? uh....bubbles come on xD)

What was on the menu? Burgers and sugar bean stew made by their mom!

Without further ado, here's bubbles for you:

What made you join the CDM program?

I consider myself a student of life for life. So im always trying to learn more about different things on different platforms. I chose the CDM one specifically because I think mental health awareness is the most important and delicate type of content you can put out there both online and offline.

How was your experience doing the program?

At first, I thought it was going to be easy. When I read the instructions/ schedule I figured if they finish in record time. It was simple tasks and it was easy to do but when I started I felt like I needed to dig deep and try to create the best content I can. The tasks were relatively easy but I thought a lot about what I wanted to say and how others will perceive my content. I used the tools provided and put my whole heart into every piece. It was important to me to not just create another generic motivational quote. I wanted something fresh or to at least spark a conversation after the content was consumed by whomever. It was nice to be lead on a path that puts you in a situation where your content is something personal. Either something you want everyone to know or something you wish someone said to yourself in a difficult moment.

Which was your favorite activity in the program?

Writing the article. It took me a while to decide what I wanted to write about. The topic I chose wasn't very specific. It was very general however it is important to change the ideas around mental health and that is what I wrote about!

How did you enjoy writing an article?

My forte is research. But this was a different type of writing style so it was fun learning new skills to write articles. Same game different rules. The topic was anything of my choice so that was nice. Im surprised my title was approved. I hope people understood the message I was trying to give.

What advice would you give to a new CDM trainee?

Make every piece you create personal. Chances are someone somewhere might have gone through the same thing and needed those words.

What are some new things you learned about content through the coursework?

The most important thing was the type of writing and how to change the tone to less triggering. Like saying mental health issues rather than referring to it as an 'illness'. This differs a lot from academic writing where everything is cold hard facts with little to no emotion.

How can mentors offer better support for the program?

Through feedback. Both overall for the group with posts and also one on one. When I had questions they always responded swiftly. However, I'm still unsure how I did. We gave feedback on each others posts but we didn't get much feedback from mentors. (Duly noted!)

How did you enjoy creating graphics for the program?

That was fun. Maybe I had a bit too much fun with it. I used a lot of wordplays. I don't know if that was allowed or not but I enjoyed making it!

Thank you for reading till here! I would love to hear any suggestions/question ideas that I can add to this series. If you are an CDM graduate and would love to contribute, please PM me so we can set up our dinner! Meanwhile, please give a big shout-out to @giggleBubbles6722 for doing this, you're amazing!
