Victim of abuse and violence,
Time tested my faith and patience...
Thrown in rehab for my delusions,
But I stood strong through my endurance...
I was broken and shattered,
But it wasn't that mattered...
I bent, grew and healed,
In all the broken places that needed to be shield...
Redefined by new strength and understanding,
Life is chaotically enchanting...
@Clarisse29
Wise men have been trying to contemplate its meaning,
Trying to ponder upon what makes it so appealing...
What i have grasped through my social dealings,
Is that we are mere spiritual beings...
Governed by our choices,
Touched by unheared little voices...
Like a sailor stranded in an island,
Eager to go back to our Homeland...
Trying to breakfree of this enchantement,
No clinging to it nor afraid of abandonment...
Time will be my witness,
I won't be a muse nor a mistress...
Going back to my essence,
Leaving behind love and its reminiscence...
Adieu to all who made me a part of their stories,
My music will echo when you play the musical keys...
No matter what the instrument,
You'll transcend and feel the fulfillment...

This is the strongest and most courageous thing I have ever read as a poem. I felt it deep within me.
Thank you @Sugarlife24.

I was about 4 years old at the time. My grandma's pool was big, but it seemed huge to me at that age. I was enjoying learning to swim, but I'd only started getting the hang of swimming without help, so I was still using floaties.
My cousin supposedly stopped swimming with floaties when she was 3 or something and she would not stop making fun of me for wearing them. She pushed me in once and my mom had to come save me.
It was later that evening, and the weather had changed; it was storming. I could see the lightning in the sky, and the pool water was going up and down a bit in waves.
I went outside, the cool rain coming down hard on me, and I remember just staring at the pool with clenched fists for what seemed like forever. I just wanted to make my cousin shut up about the stupid floaties.
Before I even knew what I was doing I ran and jumped straight into the middle of the pool. Instant regret. The light pool waves were enough to push my head under. I also had to worry about the lightning.
I started screaming for help, trying to tread water, and when I turned to look at the house, I could see my grandma and uncle in the kitchen window, but they couldn't see or hear me. I missed them badly all of a sudden. The waves wouldn't stop, I was already out of energy and breath. Now I would never see them or hear their voices again. This was it. Nobody could save me.
...
...except for me.
Survival sense kicked in, and in a sudden burst of adrenaline, I started swimming to the edge, and it was working. I was swimming without floaties. I made it, I climbed the ledge out, and ran inside soaked and crying.
I never got in trouble, my mom was too happy to see me safe. And... Though messed up, it taught me how to swim, and I never got made fun of for wearing floaties again.
@Torean
Dear Torean.
What a strong story. Thank you very much.
"This was it. Nobody could save me - except for me".
Thank you again.

Hey folks,
Speaking about my life makes me feel that I am completely living it. Every time I look back I wonder.
" was that me who was living that awful teenage life?"
I was an introverted sort of person. I used to feel terrified even with the idea of meeting people. Because of All these fear, I was not able to get good grades in academics and neither did I maintain any talent.
But when I look at myself now, it's a different version of me. I speak to a lot of people whether on 7 cups or in my life outside 7 cups. I do sketching, painting, and writing, and I am a graduate with good grades.
All I know is when you truly start to believe in yourself and don't give a damn about others' conclusions about you, you start to develop.
Thank you for reading.
@Sugarlife24
The teenage years are so awkward, aren't they? It's awesome that you're into so many creative activities now. There's real beauty in art.
They called me a cripple and I believed
I believed those harmful words and they called me fat, they planted a seed
A seed full of hate
And their words turned into thoughts, thoughts that made me bleed
But I thought if I just wait -
I thought waiting would make those words leave
But they didn't they got worse
Made me sick, like an evil curse
And I fell, like a dying leaf
In fall
I'm not sure how I got up or if I'm even still on the ground
But I didn't give up, yes, I'm still around
Trying to battle my thoughts, to find my way
And now that I have seen and heard everything
There is nothing you could ever say
To let me fall again, because now I'm turning your words into poems, I sing
All of it, right here, out loud
I won't stay silent anymore, I'll shout
Because I have waited far to long, this is my call
