🌸 How Are You Truly? 🌸

User Profile: LexListens2025

hi gentle souls ✨

i’ve been a listener on 7 cups for a few years now, and through this journey, i’ve learned just how powerful it is when we let ourselves be real.

i’ll be honest — when people ask me “how are you?” i don’t always answer truthfully. sometimes i say “i’m fine” when inside, i’m not fine at all. sometimes i smile and change the subject because it feels easier than admitting i’m hurting or struggling. and i know i’m not the only one. 🌱

but the moments i’ve felt the most connected — both here and in life — have been when i’ve allowed myself to answer honestly, even if the truth was messy, sad, or complicated. it takes courage to be vulnerable, but it also creates space for healing. 🌷

so i want to open up this thread as a safe little corner where masks aren’t needed. if someone were to ask you, “how are you truly doing?” — with no lying, no masking, no hiding — what would you say?

your truth matters. whether it’s heavy, hopeful, painful, or uncertain, it deserves to be spoken and held with care. 💫

🌻 closing note 🌻
please know that you don’t have to carry your feelings alone. i’m always here if you’d like to talk, vent, or simply share space with someone who will listen with empathy and no judgment. 💙

sending you softness, strength, and light 🌙

Hi lovely 🌷💫

Thank you for opening up and sharing this — that alone shows a lot of courage. I can hear how heavy things feel for you right now, and I want you to know you’re not alone. Many people struggle with the same doubts and comparisons, even if they don’t always say it out loud 💙.

Needing help or struggling with certain things doesn’t make you dumb. Everyone learns and grows differently, and that doesn’t lessen your worth in any way. You have your own timing, your own path, and strengths that are still unfolding 🌻.

I know it can feel like everyone is watching or judging you, but the truth is most people are wrapped up in their own world — and those who care about you aren’t judging you at all. You deserve compassion and patience, especially from yourself 🌙✨.

You’re not “less.” You’re a whole person, worthy of love and respect exactly as you are. Sending you warmth, support, and a reminder that you deserve the same kindness you’d give to a friend 🤍🌺.

You’re not dumb. Its ok to not be as smart as your friends, but it can sometimes feel a little awkward and uncomfortable. I completely understand that. But also, we were not meant to do thing’s completely alone. Capitalism just built society to think that way, and it’s actually really good to ask for help and to get a different perspective from other when we do ask for it. I know it can feel daunting asking over and over trust me, i know! But we have to normalize asking for help cause we were never meant to live this life alone. I really do know how youre feeling, and it makes everything else feel worse. Hope you feel better soon!

I, like you, tell 99.9% of the people "I'm OK" there is only one person IRL that I say, "I'm not OK" when she asks but we only talk maybe every 3 or 4 weeks. She is not in the office as much as I am.

I feel so alone these days, and it just seems to consume me to no end. Days like today, I just pop my head in Cups to see what's going on and I end up feeling overwhelmed and emotional. and just want to walk away.
I even feel disinterested in the IceBreakers these days, can't be bothered to really take part like I did.

I have one good friend here @convivialAvocado1138 , and because I'm so socially awkward, I never know what to say or ask when we do chat to keep the conversation interesting or on going.

Hi there 🌙💫

Thank you for being so honest and sharing what you’re going through — it takes a lot of courage to put these feelings into words. I can really hear how heavy the loneliness feels for you right now, and how draining it is to keep saying “I’m OK” when inside you’re not. That’s such a hard mask to wear day after day 💙.

It makes complete sense that you feel consumed by it, and that even things you used to enjoy, like IceBreakers, don’t feel the same anymore. That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong — it’s just a sign that you’re carrying a lot emotionally. It’s okay to step back when you need to and give yourself space 🌿.

I also want to remind you: being socially awkward doesn’t make you any less valuable as a friend. Just showing up and being present, even if you don’t always have the “right” words, matters more than you realize. Sometimes the simplest check-in — a “thinking of you” or a small note — can mean everything 🌸.

You’re not as alone as your mind might be telling you. You’ve already reached out here, and people do care about you and your presence in this space. Sending you warmth, gentleness, and the reminder that it’s okay to not be okay — you don’t have to carry that alone 🤍🌺.

I agree with your words @bubbles2025 😊

No pressure to fill the quietness of a conversation @braindamag3 🥹

Honestly, irl I'm very much like this with my friends we're talking one minute then it gets quiet a lil in the conversation & that's ok. For me if I'm comfortable enough to sit in stillness with you it means I'm comfortable with you 😁

Might turn on some tunes and just relax for a bit & then back to talking/laughing again

Don't worry I'm always here ❤️

I am struggling, to say the least... I thought by now I would have answers, and be better. But no, I am worse then when I joined 7cups.

Before I reported, I didn't fully accept anything. After I did, I slowly began to process. And it has been a bumpy road... I didn't think it would be such a long process then it has been.

I full each day to the max since I don't want time to think. Lately, when I joined 7cups. I am having a meltdown, panic attack, anxiety attack, etc. I tell people that I am surviving when people ask how I am doing since. I can say it whenever, and however I feel.

7cups has definitely helped my process, and everything. But it is going to be long... I am not excited for the long journey I have ahead of me. But know I need to continue, and keep fighting and pushing forward.

I grew up up an environment that we were not allowed to express any feelings. I am trying to work on it. But I find myself always just falling back into there patterns. I keep to myself not wanting any connection terrified to get hurt. I try to be kind to everyone, but the thought of friends scare me. Since I don't want to trust anyone else besides myself.

Hi there 🌙✨

Thank you for sharing so openly — I can feel the weight of everything you’re carrying right now, and it’s incredibly brave to put it into words. Healing, especially after something traumatic, is rarely a straight line. It’s messy, exhausting, and almost always longer than we expect. The fact that you’re still here, still showing up, still trying, even when it feels worse than before, is a sign of your strength, not your weakness 🌷.

Filling your days to the max makes sense — sometimes keeping busy feels safer than sitting with the pain. That’s a normal coping response, and it doesn’t mean you’re doing something “wrong.” But please also remember: you don’t have to hide your struggles here. Your meltdowns, panic attacks, and anxiety attacks are real experiences, and sharing them is a courageous act, not a burden 💙.

I want to acknowledge how powerful it is that you’re working to break patterns you grew up with. Learning to express feelings, open up, and trust others after an environment where that wasn’t safe is hard work. The fear you feel around connection is understandable — you’re protecting yourself from more hurt. But even so, you’re here, trying to reach out and heal. That’s something to be proud of 🌸.

You may not feel “excited” about the long journey ahead, but the fact that you know you need to continue, and that you’re still pushing forward, is incredibly meaningful. Healing isn’t about doing it perfectly; it’s about moving forward, even in tiny steps, and giving yourself permission to feel as you go 🤍.

Please be gentle with yourself on this path. You’re not alone here, and you don’t have to figure it all out right now. Step by step, moment by moment, you are healing, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet 🌺.

I love this post. It's so caring and kind. :)

Here's honesty:

I'm tired of being a patient. I'm tired of endless Dr. visits, endless sample tests, endless medication addition and subtraction. My physical injuries exacerbated chronic pain. I'm walking around with two fractured wrists, a fractured elbow, and the referral appointments keep piling up. I'm tired. Very tired.

But there is gratitude in this. I am so grateful for my caregivers. I could not be doing it all without them. <3

@SelfCareMatters

Hi friend 💛

Thank you so much for being open about what you’re going through. It’s completely understandable to feel exhausted by the constant doctor visits, tests, medications, and referrals — that’s a lot for anyone to carry, let alone while managing pain and serious injuries. Feeling tired doesn’t make you weak; it’s a very human response to an overwhelming situation. 🌿

I also want to acknowledge how meaningful it is that even in the middle of all this, you can still recognize and feel gratitude for your caregivers. That says so much about your heart and your resilience. It’s okay to be tired and grateful at the same time. Both feelings can coexist. 💛

Please remember to give yourself permission to rest, even if it’s only in small ways, and to lean on the people who care about you when things feel too heavy. You’re doing an incredibly hard thing right now, and you deserve support, patience, and kindness — especially from yourself. 🌸

We’re here for you, and you’re not alone in this. I’m only ever a message away.

— A listener who’s rooting for you 🌿

Yeah can't relate. Nobody asks, thus no one actually cares. And even when they do offer the token "you good?" its not genuine. It's not actual interest in your life or who you are. They just feel bad and feel like they should say something like they're the only person you're gonna get to talk to that day.

🌸 Hi there, I just want to pause and say thank you for being so open and honest here. 🌸
╰─────────⋅☾ ☼ ☽⋅─────────╯

I hear you — it really does hurt when “how are you?” feels like nothing more than a passing phrase instead of genuine care. It can feel empty, almost like people are saying it out of habit rather than truly wanting to listen. That can leave you feeling invisible and disconnected, and it makes sense that it would weigh on you.

Here on Cups, though, things can be a little different. ✨ When someone asks how you’re doing here, it comes from a place of wanting to listen, not obligation. You deserve to have people in your life who truly care about what’s happening inside your heart, not just on the surface.

It’s okay to long for real connection — it doesn’t make you needy, it makes you human. 💜 Even when it feels like nobody around you is really seeing you, please know that your voice matters, your story matters, and you matter.

You’re not as alone as it feels right now. 🌷

Maybe I am not as okay as I believe I am ,I am trying to believe those motivational videos who say that being happy is a state of mind and a choice and stuff..and I try to convince myself that I am okay ,and I am indeed grateful for my life and everything I have despite all the struggles ,but to be honest ,maybe I am not that okay ,I doubt a lot of things in life ,tears are always just behind my eyes the whole time wanting to fall down ,even if there's nothing at all ,I always feel heavy ,I am very slow ,I feel very lost ,not knowing what I am supposed to do especially life is getting more complicated for me ,I feel like it is hard to succeed or be that great ,I can't believe I am fighting my way just to live a normal life ,I doubt myself ,my wants ,my needs ,my desires ,my purpose in life ,I wouldn't say I hate myself ,I appreciate me actually ,but I am my worst enemy ,I haven't healed from the abuse..the insecurities..the fear.. I remember every word ,every hit ,every nightmare ,I remember how I got abandoned by someone I thought loved me and realized I was just a toy and when they couldn't reach their desires they left ,and I feel like I am needy ,weak ,bad and not responsible ,like I can never succeed or actually be a good person ,so yeah ,maybe I am not as okay as I pretend to say ,my mind doesn't stop overthinking and stress..24/7 constant pressure ,it is hard ,but it shall be okay ,anyway thank you for this lovely post ,I guess we all needed that

🌸 Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to be so honest about how you’re feeling. 🌸

Reading your words, I can feel how heavy all of this has been for you, and how much effort you’ve been putting into holding yourself together. It takes so much courage to be this honest, especially when you’ve been through so much pain and still carry those memories with you. You’re not weak for feeling lost or doubting yourself — you’re human, and you’re still here, which already shows incredible strength.

It’s okay if the motivational quotes don’t match your reality right now. Healing and finding peace aren’t just “choices” you make once — they’re slow, ongoing processes. What you’re doing, even in this moment by writing this, is already a step forward. You’re acknowledging what’s real for you instead of hiding it, and that’s powerful.

Please know this: your pain does not erase your worth. The abuse, the abandonment, the insecurity — none of that defines who you are at your core. You’re not “bad,” you’re not “weak.” You are someone who has been deeply hurt and is still fighting to heal, and that is brave. 🌷

Here, you’re safe to be vulnerable. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay or put on a mask. You deserve gentleness, understanding, and time. You’re not behind in life just because you’re still healing — healing is part of life, and you’re allowed to move at your own pace.

You are not alone in this journey. And even if you can’t feel it right now, there is hope. 🌙
