The situation of not being able to express how you feel program day 7
📅 Day 7: The Lifelong Practice (Evolving at Your Own Pace)
You made it to Day 7! Give yourself a massive amount of credit for showing up every day this week.
Learning to express your feelings after a lifetime of silence is not a switch you flip; it is a brand-new language you are learning to speak. You wouldn’t expect to fluent in French after seven days, so please do not expect yourself to be an expert communicator today.
Progress in this journey is quiet. It looks like:
• Realizing you are upset before you explode.
• Taking a deep breath and saying, "I need a minute."
• Typing out a note to a friend, even if you delete it later.
• Simply acknowledging to yourself, “I am feeling alexithymic right now, and that is okay.”
Every single time you validate your own feelings—even if you never say them out loud to a single soul—you are breaking down that invisible wall. You are teaching your brain that your voice matters.
🔍 Deep Dive Explanation
Healing is cyclical, not linear. You will have weeks where you express yourself beautifully, and weeks where you completely freeze up again. This is not failure; it is just your nervous system resting. Trust the process, keep using your tools, and remember that your community here on 7 Cups is always walking right beside you.

Thanks alll!
My biggest "aha" was probably that I'm probably less alone in being misunderstood than I thought.
Message of encouragement... Hey buddy, are you sad in a wall? We don't like walls like that, do we? If you wanna smash it, past me doesn't blame you. Also, remember confidence... It's probably the most important thing we've taught us, and you should probably use it now.

- i think my biggest takeaway was what you said about the rough drafts. Doing those was like– oh, i can communicate messily, it still gets the point across, maybe ive been overthinking this a bit much xD
- older me, we know these walls by now. We can count every crack, every chip of paint peeling off. We also know that these walls are not the prisons they seem to be in the moment. Take the breaks you need, energise yourself, and when youre ready:
Break these walls down.
My biggest aha moment was that i wasn't alone in this and many people feels the same.
Dear future self know that you deserve all the kindness and love without any conditions and reasons and you have full rights to share your emotions in whichever way you want you don't have to be perfect.
I think the biggest aha moment was reading others posts and realizing that I'm not the only one that struggles with this.
You're not alone. It's alright to talk about things. It's ok to take up space.
@cheerfulKiwi1776 Thank you for the time and effort you put into this!

The biggest takeaway I had from this is just realizing that I'm not so alone in this, and seeing that maybe I'm not crazy for not being able to express myself as easily.
"It may not be easy but your not alone and you deserve to be able to take things at your own pace, without the expectations put on you by others."
