What keeps you coming back?
Hello fellow Cupsers! My name is Kristy for those of you that don’t know me. And I’m a listener here on 7 cups. I have been around since October 2014 off and on. Tonight in the listener support room, we were talking about what we love about 7 cups and what keeps us coming back. My answers are:
1. I love seeing the growth and change in the members over the years.
2. Long term friendships that I’ve made with other listeners. No matter how much time passes, we pick up right where we left off.
3. New relationships with new listeners and watching them learn and grow as listeners and eventually take on leadership roles.
What about you? Whether you are a listener or a member, what keeps you coming back to 7 cups?

What keeps you coming back to 7 cups?
My answer: The potential in me to make a difference! Even with its challenges, cups community is a place where I am able to make a difference. I love using my thinking mind to do more for this community. Some ideas have clicked and helped me find my place in here. These days, I am loving to spread smiles by hosting positivity events in the positivity corner room -hope our positivity events team grows!
Looking forward to reading everyone's answers! Great thread, Kristy!
@Kristynsmama This is a question I'm still trying to answer myself as I am trying to take a long term break but I keep coming back.
I think the answer is that I've made so many cool friends that make my day better or lift my mood whenever I talk to them. I also kind of engraved Cups into my routine. Cups also makes the day go by faster and being able to help people with their issues makes me feel like I've actually accomplished something.
I don't know the exact reason but yeah :\ :)

I just came back from a 2 year hiatus. It's okay to take long breaks if and when you need to. I love how you have made cool relationships much like I have and that's what keeps you coming back! Thank you for your response!
As Always,
Kristy

I like that it helps me feel as though I actually did something too. Good one.
I like the atmosphere of cups, I know that if I need to vent I can come here and vent away all my troubles without the nagging feeling of being judged
@Stitchlover17
This is definitely a great gift that Cups has to offer us as listeners and members both. It's a safe place to vent and share the struggles of daily life. I'm glad you are here and have found this to be a positive and supportive environment. Thank you for sharing!
As Always,
Kristy
Glad to be here miss Kristy!
I keep coming back because of the amazing people I found in the groupchats. They help me a lot and I hope I helped them a bit too.
@SleepyPersonForever
Hello Sleepy! I'm so happy that you have found support in the chatrooms. I'm sure that other people have found just as much support from you being there. Thank you for sharing what you love about 7 cups! And I hope you really aren't a sleepy person forever!
As Always,
Kristy
@SleepyPersonForever
I was thinking that today, actually...and feeling bad for not mentioning it.
I'm glad someone did because the support and help from others is pretty magical 💞
I am a relatively new listener. I can already say that I adore the spirit, the goal and the general positive atmosphere of 7 cups. Sure, there are problems sometimes, but in general the total experience seems to be healthy for me as a listener and for members finding listening ears and a great community! 😘
@Kristynsmama
i guess its an option and better than mindlessly watching youtube
to tired to do work but can read a bit
@Bazzust0
haha! It is definitely better than watching you tube in my book! Thank you for responding!
As Always,
Kristy
@Kristynsmama
im still up at midnight most nights listening to music cause i cant sleep
I would say helping is the top thing that keeps me coming back. Helping members has become important to my life. It's good therapy for me as well. My regulars definitely keep me coming back. I enjoy building new relationships and the support I get. Really big on stressing the forums. 7 Cups makes me feel wanted and needed.
@Kristynsmama I have not been on 7cups for very long, but for me, it is:
- the opportunity to share unconditional love, without any expectations from either side.
- being a cheerleader, and knowing I can count on a cheerleader to be here, when I need it.
- a safe place to share how I honestly feel, and know I will get support, free of any kind of criticism.
- a place where I can safely share my life experiences, and then have the opportunity to see that experience from a neutral place, and for the first time in my life, see it the way it really happened, rather than the limited narrative that my abusers or protectors always wanted me to see (the full perspective from all sides is something I could never see, and therefore; never process before 7cups).
- a place where I know people share their experience honestly, because we are all anonymous, and know it will stay that way.
- a place to privately journal and process my feelings.
- a place that is not purely for profit, so I feel that I can trust that everyone here is honestly doing their best to be a helpful, supportive presence.
It is a rare place, in that it feels like a place I can trust. Thank you all for your strength and courage in sharing your experienes and being here. 🥰
I love this! Thank you for sharing! And welcome to our team!
@Kristynsmama 😁

@Kristynsmama
Whether you are a listener or a member, what keeps you coming back to 7 cups?
7 cups gives me the feeling that I can do something meaningful by helping others. Life can be challenging but if I stop having hope and trust that we can change things everything is lost so I keep that hope and trust. 7cups helps me with it. Also I am grateful for the people here, knowing too, there is a place when life gets very challenging.
@amiablePeace77
I agree 💕
@Kristynsmama
I've only been here about a week but I keep coming back because it's the only mental health platform available.
