The Weekly Beacon: Small ways to help the community! (June 7)
Welcome to this week's Community Beacon! For those who might be new to this initiative, The Weekly Beacon is our new tradition in which we share simple, small ways you can lend a hand in the community. The heart of 7 Cups has always been the people in it, and you do not need official badges, special training, or hours of free time to make a difference in someone else's day.
🌟 The Recognition Board 🌟
Every day you reply to these weekly threads to let us know you completed one of the tasks, you earn a star. You can earn up to 7 each week for each day of the week (1 day = 1 star). Once you earn 30 stars, you will receive the exclusive "All for one" badge!

To conserve space, we're changing the layout. You'll now see two numbers: the first displays the stars earned that week, and the other is the total running count!

If you have a few minutes today, here are some simple ways you can lend a hand this week:
- Check the Newbie Hub for people introducing themselves, and drop into their posts to acknowledge them
- Greet someone in the Welcome thread (click the >> to go to the most recent page)
- Spend an hour in one of the member rooms, especially during a time of low activity. Welcome everyone who enters the chatrooms to make them feel seen. Click here to visit the Group Chats.
- Visit our brand new Social Support Room (click here) and take the lead on some icebreakers or games!
- Give out a resource to someone! Examples: the 7 Cups Basics, the Listener Quick Guide, or a self-help guide
- Apply for a leadership role! Listeners click here. Members, click here!
If you can do even one of these things, whether just once or for multiple days this week, please reply to this thread and let me know what you did to support our community! It can be anything, not just things on the list (even kindness tasks for yourself!).

Hi everyone!! Please read this!
I cannot make the new Beacon post until Monday, but we came up with a good idea for easily tracking starts going forward!
To count stars, we've been going through the thread and counting individuals, but that's become a bit difficult to track as this grows in popularity. Going forward, I'd like to ask you all to keep a running star log.
Every time you show up in the thread, mention your star count for that respective week. For example, you could write "Day 1: ⭐" and then add the contribution below, and continue the same way for the following days, updating your star count each time (Day 1, Day 2 / 2 stars, 3 stars, 4, 5, 6, 7). That way, all we need to do is look at your most recent post for your star count for the week, and we can add it to the board, easily.
Shoutout to @MeilleureAmie for the ingenious idea! 🥰
If you want to keep replying until the new post, please do so with this new method, and look for next week's post on Monday!

I completed many steps of my training path. Also spoke with members, sometimes I could even afford to listen/speak for more than two hours with a member, I mean, a person, who is undergoing severe depression. I'm grateful for these things and much more! 💗
