@AiluraTheCat

No. Even when I’m expected to forgive people for their grave mistakes, I still carry resentment towards them. I’d rather distance myself than maintain such relationships. It's hard for me to move on from the hurt and I don't have it in me to be on friendly terms with someone who has hurt me in the past.

@trueconfidant123

it's somewhat similar for me. they come as they are a whole new person but it's just the same, and i'd hurt more. i used to forgive, but realized it drains me more.

I hear you, it makes perfect sense to me ❤️! It is always okay to stay away from those peoples who make u feel resentful, or any sort of discomfort. ❤️

@AiluraTheCat

It's a yes/no for me.

Forgiveness is such a personal journey.

It's highly dependent on what they have done.

Forgiveness would be solely for my healing and not excusing the wrong 🧡

Gorgeous 😊!

I see the depth here, and I wholeheartedly concur <3.

I don't accept them harming someone; forgiveness is something I do it for my own peace of mind ❤️

@AiluraTheCat Yes. Off bat, I really want to say no. Sometimes I even try to be hard and force myself to hold grudges, but eventually I forgive, heal, and move on past it. Forgiving is easier than me constantly being angry, bitter, resentful, and full of negative emotion. Sometimes I'm just tired of feeling that way. Plus, too-- I know that I am guilty of hurting people with my words and saying things I don't mean. Sometimes my anger and sadness makes me say things in my mind I really don't mean. When I do, I want to be forgiven...  so I have to be willing to forgive too. Now if I am still bringing hurt up to the person then that's a sign I haven't really forgiven. Give me time and in time I will forgive and heal and never speak of it again.

(Note: I'm talking my regular hurt, saying things you don't mean, mistakes here and there, etc... not that deep rooted, beyond, inhumane, evil, sick stuff... definitely not talking about that.)

@YourCaringConfidant

This is really relatable. 😴 Twin!

N I used to think like this, put myself in their shoes, and try to figure out what it was that caused them to do this for someone else. As you mentioned, I have made thousands of mistakes in my life, including hurting someone accidentally or perhaps on purpose (I'm not sure), but I always carry regret and guilt inside of me. I ask for forgiveness, and when we ask seek forgiveness, our intention is to be forgiven right? and when I can make mistakes, so can everyone else!

Therefore, I always tend to forgive people for their actions and give them another chance to make amends ❤️!

I personally have admiration in your reflection to this for a reason 😊

Thank you for sharing your opinion here ❤️!

Ailura, I’m not sure where you get these beautiful ideas of a post but every post tells a story about you. From soft to courage to being a beautiful girl. Thank you for being you.

Yes I do forgive people who hurt me. Resentment hurts me more. Its out of my character. I feel ugly inside. But I have learned to stay away from those who had hurted me to set boundaries and protect my heart. There’s “enough” for everything, am I right?! 😘

Yeah..!! I absolutely agree with that, staying away from anyone or anything to protect our inner peace is a good move, I'd say 😊! it is totally acceptable and inevitable! Yeah, resentment is something i struggle with everyday life, it is not easy to ensure as we say.

Absolutely. Letting go is where the healing starts. Even when it is difficult. Although forgiving is a process in its self, it's not linear, and I guess nothing ever is linear in life. But letting go is important.

@WriterMA

Hey, writer! 😊

I completely agree with you 🤗! Letting go is not linear like anything else in life. I understand that it will be difficult for someone to forgive and let go of things that have broken us for a long time. However, it hurts more to hold onto grudges than to let go and the process that results in ❤️

Yes, life is too short to carry such resentment. However, I wouldn't forget how they acted.
