Pep Talk
Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well and having an awesome day!
Whenever I need to do something tough or difficult, I resort to giving myself a pep talk in the mirror.
A pep talk is a speech that is intended to encourage someone to feel more confident.
Here’s an article on the science of pep talks!
Question: Give yourself a pep talk to do something you find difficult. Does giving yourself a pep talk helps?
Give yourself a pep talk every morning: Then, do it again, whenever you need a boost. People often say that motivation doesn't last. “Well, neither does bathing,” says Zig Ziglar. “That's why we recommend it daily.”
Tag your friends and ask them to share their pep talk as well. ![]()

And thank you @VerseArt for creating this lovely thread 💚 Inspiring and motivating ourselves is so important to make sure we believe in ourselves even during the toughest times.
Today my pep talk is: You know that sometimes you're going to be pushed down, and that sometimes things won't go the way that you expect or want them to go. But the important thing is that you know not only that you are going to get yourself back up, but also that you are able to get yourself back up. When things get dark, we accept that darkness and look for the stars which bring us strength and the hope of the light of a new day 🌟
I think that was slightly cringey haha but I really am feeling more motivated to get some work done!

My pep talk is "You still have enough time to get things sorted out! Look forward and start again, maybe you'll require a bit of more time but you'll get there, keep going."
Small steps, everyday. ♡

Hey, Sun! Thank you so much for tagging me! And thank you @VerseArt for this amazing thread!
I often talk to myself and give myself pep talks whenever I need motivation. There are many sources from which I gain motivation, and pep talls has definitely worked for me!
So, today, I gave myself a pep talk too, hehe. It goes like this
"I know things can get tough sometimes, but hey, we can do this. We have gotten through so many things together. Where's that enthusiasm? I wanna see that smile and that shineeeee. I know it can get difficult at times, and you might feel like you cannot do this, but maybe we should remove the 'not' there, because you can do anything! Come on now, give me i.e. yourself a high five and let's take a break. This is not easy, but it is surely worth it! Yayyyyyyyyy"
Yes, my pep talk, hahaha. I mostly talk to myself and use humor to make myself smile. It's like I am a friend to myself, cuz I am the one who knows me the best. So yep, there's my pep talk!

Pep talks are surely gonna help to encourage yourself from hard times ✨
Today, I will remember that I am much stronger than I think, braver than I believe and smarter than I think. Despite what life has thrown at me, I will not back down. I will continue to push forward and become a stronger person because of this! I have survived 100 percent of my worst days in life, so I just need to keep going. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. It’s okay to be sad and frustrated, but I will continue to walk through life. I will be strong for those who need me and I will be a superhero for myself. I will not let this break me.
Don't forget you are meant to be awesome today and always 💖

I checked out the article Verse mentioned and thought I'll summarise a bit of the key points of what a pep talk should include.
Every individual has a unique style of motivating themselves and others, however, there is science behind creating a pep talk which has proven to be effective and for the same, three key points should be kept in mind: direction giving, expressions of empathy, and meaning making. The Mayfields have described three of these components in great details. Direction Giving: The leader gives easy to understand, direct and precise information on how to carry out a task. This also includes giving details on how the performance of the individual will be evaluated. The process works on the function of "uncertainty-reducing language." Empathetic language: This step is to ensure that you're showing concern to the person you're giving a pep talk to. This is the part that mainly has the effect of encouraging people as it includes giving praise, encouragement, gratitude and also acknowledging the difficulty/challenges of the task at hand. The step involves acknowledging the task can be hard to do but you're certain the person will do well. Meaning-making language: This step includes explaining "why" the task at hand is important, to express and link the purpose of the completion of task and the person doing the task. The things which are involved in this are use of stories - successful stories of people who have worked on the task before or how the task completion benefitted a community/group of people/the individual.

Give yourself a pep talk to do something you find difficult. Does giving yourself a pep talk helps?
I give myself mini pep talks all the time and they definitely do help. When something is going on, just talking to myself gives me a sense of reassurance that everything's gonna be okay and that I just need to calmmm downnn
Here's my pep talk for today: Let's start off with some deep breaths. It's okay to be a little confused or to be struggling sometimes, I just want you to remember that life does get tough, but you are capable of fighting through it. Just trust yourself, keep the ones you love close to you, and you are going to be completely okay. And a little tip before I finish it off, it's okay to want to take a step back every now and then to take a break for yourself <3
It's great to know that you give yourself mini pep talks and that they help you calm down as well.
That is a beautiful pep talk you have written. I love how you start with taking deep breaths. That's an amazing way! *takes notes* xD
Thank you so much for sharing that amazing pep talk with all of us!
@VerseArt
Hey , I haven't yet tried this thing of giving myself a pep talk by looking at the mirror. I would want to give this trick a shot , let's see.....
This is a really good Idea, I love it!
My Pep Talk Today: You will reach setbacks, you will see adversity. But you are strong and you can get through it. You know who you are and what you stand for just simply be yourself,
I think giving yourself a pep talk in the morning or when you are going through challenging times is a great idea. It reminds me of the wellness technique of having affirmations.
