GS Roles Spotlight: Sharing Circle Host 💚
There’s something deeply special about a space where people take turns to speak, listen, and simply be heard. That’s the heart of our Sharing Circles, and the people who make those spaces feel so safe and welcoming are our Sharing Circle Hosts.
They’re the calm guides of every session, the ones who keep things flowing gently, help members feel seen, and create an environment where sharing becomes healing. These sessions have become one of the most loved parts of Group Support, a place where stories are shared, emotions are understood, and connection truly happens.
- Attend at least 5 Sharing Circle sessions before applying.
- Go through the Sharing Circle Host Guide.
- Go through the Sharing Circle Script.
- Understand how circles flow and how time is managed.
- Bring empathy, patience, and a willingness to listen without judgment.

I like the cup logo you created that has colorful figures holding hands in circle and the little white hearts that fill the crack of the cup ☕, Suryansh \(^-^)/

@Suryansh
thanks for the introduction! 🙂💚
Thank you for this post! Sharing Circles are great places to connect and heal. I highly recommend getting involved!
@Suryansh
What a fantastic and thoughtful description of such a vital role. Our Sharing Circle Hosts are what make these sessions a place of true healing and connection.
For anyone who has felt the comfort of these circles and thought about giving back, this is your moment! Remember, as the post says, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about being present.
I am so so grateful for everyone who steps up to hold this space for others. If you're considering applying, please do. This is meaningful work with instant gratification! <3
Dear Suryansh,
Thank you for explaining so clearly what the role of the Host is in the Sharing Circle, and for encouraging people to give hosting a try.
I found myself reflecting on when I started facilitating Sharing Circles (way back) in 2020 -- People in the Sharing Circle would help me to “get it right.”
Hosting is a chance to “give back” to this nurturing community that helps us so much.
Kindly,
CalmRosebud

Can I be tagged for this series
Thank you for the excellent post @Suryansh! I'm happy to answer any questions if anyone is interested in becoming a host! Our Sharing Circles are so special and they run so much smoother with someone leading the way and making sure that everyone who wants to gets a fair turn to share and that each sharer is supported and heard.
