Sharing Circle New Updates! (ADULTS)
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.
I have some news for you and need some help from you. As you might know, we have been running 16 Sharing Circles and 8 Healthy Habits for a while now. But, as per the feedback we received lately, it seems like Healthy Habit sessions are not taking place actively. Either because of lack of participants or lack of host coverage for some of the sessions.
These sessions were introduced to bring more support to everyone. But, unfortunately, it seems like it is not happening in all the sessions. So we are making a change with the hope that it will bring better support for you.
Change: Removing Healthy Habit Sessions
Due to a bunch of reasons that we received from the community feedback lately, we are removing Healthy Habit Sessions. The reasons shared with us are:
- Inactive sessions
- Mostly it was experienced that members like to share and vent over sharing the steps they take to handle a situation they are in. And, that’s understandable.
And, this is going for a while now even after all the steps we tried to make it better. So, we are replacing the Healthy Habits Sessions with Sharing Circle Sessions. That means, there will be a total of 24 Sharing Circle Sessions happening now w.e.f June 14, 2021 (Monday).
I hope it will help all our members from all time zones to reach out and share without interruption to get all the help and support they need.
And, a couple of reminders!
- You know how sharing is hard. Reaching out and sharing how you feel, what you are experiencing is not easy at all. And, it becomes more difficult when your past experiences with sharing aren't really good. But, I find it really beautiful to see how many of us reach out in the sharing circle and share their thoughts in an uninterrupted space. That's a courageous step and for that, I admire and proud of you all. It may not be easy to come forward and share but please know we are here with you to hear and support. You are not alone in this journey. So, if you have anything to share, please feel free to join and share. You got this!
- Hosting a session could be scary and anxiety-inducing. If you feel this way, then please know I can understand and relate to it. But at the same time, every time I host, I know that I have a supportive community to back up support, encourage and help me out. And, that’s how I am able to host every session. And, we are here with you, if you decide to join and host too. Hosting is one of the ways to care for and support the community and members. So, give it a try and if you experience any challenges, feel free to send me a message and I will be here to help you with it.
Are you interested in helping us hosting Sharing Circle? There's a much better chance of these times happening if we have dedicated volunteers! Check out this post for details on how to apply! tinyurl.com/yb9amjfa

Hey Obs,
Thanks for sharing the information and effective date!

Seems like a sensible and much anticipated decision. The healthy habits format is in theory a good initiative, but the sharing circles are already a bit confusing to both existing and new members. Making it into one streamlined format is really the only obvious option. I'm sure there are other ways to encourage discussions about healthy habits than through dedicated sharing circle variants. I'm thinking mainly through check-ins and discussions, so these things take place in a collective format instead. Also, there's nothing barring a member from sharing about healthy habits in a regular sharing circle of they feel like it. This does indeed happen from time to time as well, as healthy habits are a natural part of any healing process.

I have never been a part of the healthy habits sharing circle. For these reasons my specific input isn't needed in regard to them, it's best for others to do the "heavy lifting" for that.
But I think it's worthy for me to say, what I admire about all of this is the spirit of seeing challenges as opportunities. The spirit of adapting and overcoming. Not being dogmatic and simply stuck on one idea of how to do things. The power of change in a positive direction and how best to make the most of the resources that we have here on site and finding ways to provide support for everyone but to even do it better than how it was done yesterday!

Hello! I am glad you came up with this. What a lovely post! I am interested.
@ASilentObserver--- I support this direction. I agree with flowing towards what meets more people's needs. When it comes to mental health, venting is an important part of getting through the distress of formulating new personal goals, and while I agree that establishing healthy habits is an important part of the reach towards health, I appreciate the flexibility of shifting the offerings towards what meets more people's needs.
Thanks for sharing this update Obs. I am hopeful that this will be an improvement to the Sharing Circle room, and it's always great when we can listen to feedback from the community and act on it :)
