🌞 The past week was somewhat standard for the most part..... I started off the weekend by doing the new Saturday morning Zumba class that I found. I like it because its been pretty low key so far...So will see how it continues to go... Plus major bonus is that I get to let someone else continue to motivate me! (instead of Saturday home workouts)..... But then It was a pretty quiet day afterwards, so I spent time on Selfcare & with the pup~....  Sunday I spent Mother's Day with my Mom & Son and had a great time with them both at her home.... My son got me a lovely bouquet of flowers & a Giftcard to a place that I quite enjoy.

🌊  As the beginning of the week started, I got back on track with all my standard things and Fitness classes. I kept up with activities/workouts, meals, hydration & all the good stuff...... And Sleep was much better!.... The weather was a little up and down between mild & a few days of rain, so again, I didn't get out for walks with the Pup as much as I had wanted.... I also for some reason, found myself feeling rather 'Sluggish' again this week. As I was feeling rather low on energy quite a few days.... I think it could be from a medication that I take....Or it could also be hormonal or something. As my sleep was better.... But I spent time on self-care, with hot baths, self-mani/pedi, time cuddling with the pup & some good shows, and plenty of naps when needed! Which all seemed to help.~

🌷 This weekend I have no major intentions (pending the weather)... However I do intend to get up for a morning workout at Zumba.... and then wherever the day (& the weather) takes us~ And of course, some type of good movie for Movie night!

🌞 Highlights were a staycation, healthy grocery shop and dealing more with household chores...as well as going for walks, listening to helpful podcasts and watching helpful videos. Struggles were around housing and finances.

🌷 Something I've been wondering about is all I don't know. Sometimes I'll realize something almost a decade after being told. Apparently we use less than 10% of our brain and know around 3% of all information that exists...for example we've mapped and know more of space than the ocean.

Hey there Pond~

Despite the challenges of housing & finances, How cool that you decided to do a “staycation”…. Those can certainly be just what we need sometimes to relax, take care of our needs, and spend time on SelfCare… And it certainly sounds like you got a lot done! As well as spend a lot of time “pondering deep thoughts”?!

All healthy things! Great for you & keep up the good work.

Thank you for checking in and sharing with us this week. Please continue to keep us updated.

Hi, Ocean,

I hope your sluggishness goes away soon.

Hey Everyone, How are you doing todayHow has your week gone for you?...And what are your weekend plans ahead?!  I'm a little down.  I got turned down for another student job.  My week was ok.  I let myself sleep as much as I wanted.  I decided to take a sort of sleeping vacation for the week.  I didn't have anything that was an emergency, so I just put it all off.  I guess tomorrow I'll get back to doing anything I need to do.

🌷 This is our "3rd" Check-in for the Month~....  We are officially over the "Half-way" point of the month of May.... Lets reflect for a moment: Tell us What about this Month has been going well for you so far?!  I'm in between semesters so I don't have any school stress right now.

🍉 We are Still Celebrating "May's Mental Health Awareness Month"....Self-care for your mental health can mean (Being Kind to yourself, Setting boundaries, Coping skillsTaking rest days, Seeking supportMeditationOr taking a Step back from things & giving yourself time to process what you need to. etc)..... WHAT do you personally Feel is your "MOST Healthiest Go-to" way of taking care of yourself & your Mental Health?... And "How Often" do you actually do this for yourself?!  I take rest days, and give myself time to process what I need to.  I do them both a lot.

🏊 FOR FUN:... Would You Rather?.... An ALL Expenses Paid Vacation to the location of your choice for an entire year?....OR.... ALL Your Bills Paid off for 6 months?!  vacation for a year

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  It was awesome deciding that it would be a sleeping vacation this past week and the weather was perfect to sleep with the windows open.

Hey there Tree! Thank you for the well-wishes as always! :) ❤️ …It felt like it took a hot minute, but for now the sluggishness has calmed down. I tried to get in plenty of naps when & where I could.. Hopefully this week doesn’t feel as tiresome!

—————

So sorry to hear that you were feeling a little down… but I can certainly understand why you felt that way. And it’s good that with the way you were feeling that you were able to just take care of yourself when needed. By giving your body what it needed. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and do what’s necessary for our mental & physical wellbeing… Even when it might mean absolutely nothing! Rest days, recovery & gaining clarity are important!

It’s also great that you don’t have any school stressors at the moment, and can focus on other important things you may need to take care of right now.

Im glad to hear for you that you are continuing to take all the time you need for yourself to feel as well as you can while you continue your job search.

Remember that we are here to support you. And thank you for checking in to share your week with us. Im glad you felt up to doing so! …and please continue to keep us updated!

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went. Sunday night I dropped my Obama phone and cracked the screen making it unusable. The previous Friday I tried to activate my new Obama phone but didn't get anywhere. Monday Chuck took me to 3 Smart phone repair shops. It was an ordeal. I wasn't able to get my old phone fixed but I was able to get my new phone working. The problem is I have no way of transferring my old phone numbers to my new phone. I also have a lot of pics on my old phone that I can't transfer either.  Tuesday was Tunde's first day working for me. I'm extremely happy to get rid of that terrible horrible Chuck.  Tuesday Leslie finally fixed the wifi after about 9 months of not having it. The problem is my laptop is broken and I don't have enough money to fix it. At least I have wifi on my Obama phone. There are still a lot of things I can't do on my Obama phone that I could do on my laptop. Thursday I had a doctor's appointment. She thinks I'm doing great. My sister Kathryn used to be very supportive but now she always takes Leslie's side. Tunde can only work 3 days a week instead of 4. There's no place to read at the house because Leslie is a pig. I wish Alan was still here. I've had 3 incidences with strange people this past week and I'm getting tired of it.

Hey Regmo~ That’s too bad that you are having such an ordeal regarding your phone situation. It was nice though that even though it was Chucks last day that he spent that time trying to take you around in an attempt to get it fixed…. How did Chuck handle the fact that you now have a new caregiver & that it was his last day?…. How have things with Tunde been going so far? …That’s good that Leslie finally got the WiFi situation taken care of…. 9 months is a long time without good service. It’s definitely easier operating on a laptop with some things than it is a phone in various instances… hopefully for you the laptop situation will get sorted out sooner rather than later… That's good that your doctor feels your appt went well. Why do you feel that your sister is suddenly being so non-supportive of you regarding Leslie? What do you think changed her tune about things? It’s too bad that she wasn’t more supportive in helping you to find a better place to stay that would suit you better. Hopefully for you that also comes together sooner rather than later. Thanks for sharing your week and checking in. Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going.

@PoliteOcean I never gave Chuck a chance to respond to my firing him. I really don't care what his response is. He would drive through the school cross walk when the crossing guard had their hand held stop sign up. Tunde has worked for me 3 days and it's worked out well. I don't know why my sister changed her attitude.  I really want to get back to a regular reading time at the library instead of doing miscellaneous tasks on the computer.

Thanks for your reply… That’s crazy about Chuck! Yikes! How scary of him to do something like that. Especially in cases like that, but not to mention when caring for someone with history of Trauma etc.. That’s good Tunde is working out. I know you liked working with him as your caregiver in the past. Hopefully things with the library come together for you.

🌷 honestly, it's been a rollercoaster for this whole month. I don't want to complain and say that I didn't have fun this week, because I so did!

🍉 to be honest, I think writing, dancing, and listening to music have been helping me more than ever these days. I unfortunately don't know how to pay attention to myself (according to my bf, and he's right). I guess the healthiest thing I do for myself is dancing. It's an escape, all I need is good music, so this happens almost daily! :)

🏊 all expenses paid vacation to the location of my choice for an entire year, for sureeeeee.

🌞 I was tired this whole week, waking up later (past 6:30am when I needed to get up at around 6:25am) for school, me and my bf have been more distant, Mom checked in with my grades, got mad, and well, she asked some questions that caused secrets to be spilled. let's just say, my family is disappointed. (if you want to hear about it, I'll write a story and you can check my profile.)

🌷 on the good side, me and my friends had fun this week while dancing and just talking about graduation! I've been keeping up with more work this week, and got back with eating (usually I couldn't eat for some reason, avoiding meals for a whole day). I made a list of goals, I've been working on containing anxiety (and looking into it because there's this new feeling I've been having).

so, this week was great! I just had troubles like every other person.

Hi there~

We’re sorry to hear that your month has been a roller-coaster… but it’s so great for you that you had a fun week to help make up for it.

I’d have to certainly agree with dancing & listening to music being helpful & healthy devices! I’m a dancer/Zumba instructor & it’s definitely an escape to turn on good music and letting go as your body & mind become free! … Great job at using these choices to take care of your wellbeing! Keep up the great work.

Despite the challenges of your week I think it’s great that you did have a “good side” to it all! I’m sorry to hear that you feel your family has been disappointed by things. But yes I would love to know more if you care to elaborate on that situation?! We are here to support you!

It sounds like positive highlights of your week were definitely lots of healthy ones!! Dancing, getting ready for graduation, eating better, goal making, & working on anxiety are ALL amazing things! Again Keep up the great work you are doing! You’re doing awesome!👏🏼

It’s also good that you can see that while things aren’t always going to be perfect, that it’s just another time in your life like anyone else, And that you will get through & beyond the challenges! Great & positive thinking certainly helps!

Again we are here to support you! Thank you for checking in with us and sharing your week! Please continue to keep us updated with how things are going.

🌞 Hey Everyone, How are you doing todayHow has your week gone for you?...And what are your weekend plans ahead?! I'm doing good today and the past week was a little hectic again, but the weekend was good too

🌷 This is our "3rd" Check-in for the Month~....  We are officially over the "Halfway" point of May.... Let's reflect momentarily: Tell us What about this Month has been going well for you so far?! The month has been going well so far, it has also taught me many lessons and how to push through things during certain moments.

🍉 We are Still Celebrating "May's Mental Health Awareness Month"....Self-care for your mental health can mean (Being Kind to yourself, Setting boundaries, Coping skillsTaking rest days, Seeking supportMeditationOr taking a Step back from things & giving yourself time to process what you need to. etc)..... What do you feel is your "MOST Healthiest Go-to" way of taking care of yourself & your Mental Health?... And "How Often" do you do this for yourself?! I would have to say my healthiest form of self-care is to speak up for what is going in my head to my loved ones, not holding anything in and allowing myself to process each emotion.

🏊 FOR FUN:... Would You Rather?.... An ALL Expenses Paid Vacation to the location of your choice for an entire year?....OR.... ALL Your Bills Paid off for 6 months?! Definitely, bills paid off because loophole, if you have all the bills paid for 6 months then you could have more than enough money to have an expense-free vacation of choosing without feeling bad about debt piling up.

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Highlights: I had an interview on Friday, and I found out another application may be going through but I wont find out for both till this coming up week. I went to a comic book event with my husband. We had more quality time with each other and with family as well. My daughter's old daycare teacher approached me with a new job position for me to try, so I applied <3
Struggles: The job hunting has been rather difficult at times, and my mental health has been a little wobbly but nothing I can not manage. My daughter was home sick for all of last week and a lot of house chores to catch up on which I have only done a quarter of it.

🌷 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! .... WE want to hear from YOU

I am excited to see which job offer allows me to progress with them, and I found it ironic that my company laid all of us off, but my daughter's daycare teacher had a job that was hiring fast for the position that she was in. I can not wait to see if I get accepted by either of the jobs I have applied for <3

@InsightfulPhoenix

Hey there~

Thats good for you that despite a hectic week, that you’ve been doing well…. And that so far overall throughout this month, things are continuing to go well by teaching you lessons, as well as how to push through & keep going in those moments of adversity & uncertainty. That in itself will continue to give you the extra strength & encouragement that you need to keep moving forward.

I think it’s also great that you have continued your healthiest form of self care by speaking up for yourself when needed. It’s so important to be our own advocates (whether with loved ones or otherwise). And to learn we don’t need to be afraid or hold back from doing so. While allowing ourselves to also feel and process things how we need or deserve to.

(((I like your idea on the (vacation Vs. Bills Icebreaker)… however, the vacation would be for 12 long months, vs. only 6 months of paid bills.)))…. So then you’d have to decide if you really want to use that extra money for a year long vacation, save it, or would you even “Make” enough to have a 12 month vacation even after covering those 6 months of bills….. Or… What if “someone else” were paying for both?! And your money wasn’t even in question?!  lol… I guess there’s so many ways that one could look at that and interpret it for themselves! 🤔

… It sounds like despite the struggles that you’ve been dealing with, that you are continuing to do your best at making things work, continuing to try, & not giving up! And that’s definitely the important thing as well as definitely a highlight. It’s great that you are continuing to apply for as well as receive offers.. and giving yourself time & clarity while continuing to take care of yourself & your personal needs & relationships.

You will certainly have to continue to keep us updated on everything as they happen. And let us know how things are moving along and progressing with your applications (& offers)! … I think that maybe just for your mental health & peace of mind, that even taking a smaller job might benefit you until the bigger picture that you want happens for you? But it’s just a thought since it can help to provide some extra financial relief until then…

Either way we are here to support you at 7cups. And looking forwards to hearing more. As always thank you for sharing with us (as well as challenging us on the icebreaker 😉)…. And thank you for checking in this week.

🌞 Hey Everyone, How are you doing todayHow has your week gone for you?...And what are your weekend plans ahead?!

This week has been a doozy and quite tiring. I'm feeling a little better today, but it's the next few weeks I'm worried about. My dad is having this presentation and wants the whole family to fly out during exam season to see it. The flight is near 24 hours, we get there, have one day recovery, go to the presentation, and then he wants my siblings and I to give a class or something which I said no thank you to. He said we have a choice but every time I say I don't want to he gives me this long talk about how in life you gotta do stuff you don't feel like doing or how life is about pushing yourself. So, I'm starting to think I don't actually have one.

🌷 This is our "3rd" Check-in for the Month~....  We are officially over the "Half-way" point of the month of May.... Lets reflect for a moment: Tell us What about this Month has been going well for you so far?!

I got two new books and I just finished reading the first one. It's called The Maid and it's like a murder mystery book and I LOVED it. It was hilarious to me, but also had it's plot twists. Very engaging, I got the e-book version because I didn't want to wait for the delivery and it was over 300 pages long but I finished it in like 2 days and I have no regrets. Homework was submitted late, and deadlines were missed and I couldn't be happier. I am going to get into the next book soon, so we'll see about that one. I am super excited for it.

🏊 FOR FUN:... Would You Rather?.... An ALL Expenses Paid Vacation to the location of your choice for an entire year?....OR.... ALL Your Bills Paid off for 6 months?!

Ha, I see a loophole here. I would have an all-expense paid vacation to the location that happens to be exactly where I love and have it all paid and done for a year. 🤓 Hehehehehehehehehe

🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Future is stressing me out, a lot more than I like to admit. I have to travel soon, and I don't really like travelling so that's one thing. Another thing is, I'll be visiting my family which is interesting. I love them and all but they can be quite judgmental towards me for some reason. I feel like they put me on this pedestal and every time they see me they're disappointed or feel the need to express how I do not meet their exact expectation. They are subtle with it, like kind of passive aggressive. Make comments about my weight, the way I dress, what I like and don't like. It's quite exhausting, and it doesn't make me feel good about myself. When I see myself I can see this potential that I can cultivate into something amazing with time, but everyone else sees the potential and pounces on me immediately and then are shocked when I break down and can't handle it. That's when the looks of disappointment and shame come in, like they saw this spark and when it becomes too much it's like I wasted it all. And that hurts me, so I'm not really looking forward to that. I'm kind of praying our flight gets cancelled but don't really see that happening.

Hey there J.R.!~ Great to see you this week. 🙂

So sorry that your week was a crazy & tiring one for you... But certainly good that you are feeling better even if for the moment…

I can surely see why you are feeling the way you are. I know it doesn’t feel good to not only have your own personal stressors, but to also have it placed there by someone else too! (Especially family)…

(As an outsider, and as someone who I’m quite sure is much older than you 😂.. but as well I’m also a parent, .. I can understand what your dad means by what he said……. BUT!….with that being said, he may think he means well, and helping you to make smarter choices/decisions. But should also realize that children do grow up, move on, move out, have their own lives, & need to live for themselves & make their own choices! Etc… (Even if he ends up feeling disappointed in the process). That’s a part of life~

And what he’s asking of you definitely sounds like quite the burden! So I hope that whatever you decide to do, that in the end it’s a choice that you can deal with since you’re the one that has to ultimately be comfortable with it. ❤️

ohhhh…. a murder mystery! How fun! I like that type of stuff too. But yikes! 300 pages!! 😮🫨😵‍💫… How awesome for you! (For me not so much)! 😂 Glad to hear you enjoyed!

Also 🤪 on your icebreaker “loophole” lol

Also.. so sorry to hear that you are so stressed about seeing family. I can see & understand what you are saying. And I get that…. Family can place such expectations on us, that in turn makes us question & even judge ourselves in ways that we shouldn’t. I think that they personally think that they mean well, but just don’t see the added pressures behind their words or thoughts about us.

I’ve had to learn the older I got to just either take it for what it’s worth (which in my opinion isn’t much!)… OR to just distance myself from them completely if needed... I know it’s more challenging when you are younger, but as you get older it becomes much easier & beneficial to your overall wellness... And you also start to sort through & weed out what & who are important. Or what really matters.

But I know that different cultures see things differently.., and we can’t all see things in the same way. And have to do what’s best in the end. Even if it’s something we may not want to. The term “Just Grin & Bear it” is difficult!

Just remember that we are here to support you. And hope that you continue to keep us updated on everything. Please Let us know how you are doing & how things are continuing to go for you. And good luck with everything!

@PoliteOcean I spent about 10 minutes in MCR early Tuesday morning. I know I said I wasn't going to go back to the rooms but 7 cups is such a big part of my personality I couldn't help myself. This June is my 7 year anniversary on 7 cups. I don't know how often I'm going to go back into MCR, if at all.
