🍁 This past week went pretty well despite also being a bit busy...... I had several appointments that I wasn't looking forwards to, but that I also kept up with and ended up going well in the end. I stayed on track with workouts/activity, sleep, and hydration goals. Meal-planning has been better. And I was able to be proactive with getting a much needed resolution to a long awaited issue! So that was pretty ecstatic.

🌻 The weather this week started off very mild and beautiful...I kept up with all Group Fitness classes. And got in some outdoor time as well. Today has turned rainy and colder and I have spent the day continuing to "Purge" my home by Deep-cleaning! We rented a Huge Bin two weeks ago, and today was our last day with it. And I have gotten Sooooo much Purged, done, & cleaned out....and it feels pretty great to have gotten rid of so much junk, clutter, clothes etc.. that were really no longer needed or necessary. It feels so good to have a cleaner home, environment & surroundings. And continues to put me in a better Head-space to move forward into the Holiday season. And to continue to do better in my personal goals.

🍁 With this weekend being rainy and chillier, I have decided to just stay home and get ALL the needed and necessary things done (ie: the deep cleaning), And I have decided to get ahead of myself a bit and start putting up 'Some' Christmas Decorations so that it doesn't seem too Overwhelming later. Besides I like to have it all completed 'before' Thanksgiving. And then Relax in the evening, keeping warm and watching some good movies!

Hi, Ocean,

🍁Hey Everyone~ How are you doing today?  Ugh, I'm sick again.  I don't know what it is or what caused it.  I feel a little better today, but I'm weak.  I go back to work tomorrow.

🌽 This is our Second November Check-in and we've just endured a "Time-change"~... How are you doing this week?... How do you feel?.... Have you been affected in any way by the change in time?  I loved the time change because it gave me an extra hour of sleep.  But I do wish they would leave the time alone.

🌻 In what ways did you take care of yourself this week Physically, Mentally & Emotionally?... What did you do good or well for your overall "Wellbeing"?  I didn't study.  I wrote a couple questions to my problem professor and she ignored me.  I can't wait 'til that class is over.  I slept a lot this weekend, trying to kick whatever has been making me sick.

🌾JUST FOR FUN: When its cold out, Would you Rather wear a "Cozy Sweater"...OR... "A Soft Flannel"?!  sweater

🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?!  I got sick.  I just stayed in bed.

Hey there Tree... We're so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well again. Its so good that you were feeling better yesterday, and hope that going back to work wasn't too stressful for you while not feeling the greatest. Its great that you had the opportunity to rest up and sleep alot over the weekend, and that the time change has also allowed you to rest your body for that extra hour. (And yes I agree as well that they would just leave it all alone)! .... It sounds like you did the best you could at just simply staying in bed and getting the rest that your body deserved and needed during this time.

Hopefully by the time you read this, you find that you are feeling a bit better, and able to tackle the week ahead of you. We are here to support you. And thank you for taking the time to just check-in and share with us (while also expending the energy to simply let us know how you've been doing and feeling). Please continue to keep us updated. Feel better soon!

Ugh, Ocean, I have covid.  I did two of those at home tests and they both came up positive.  My boss' boss gave me off for the whole week.  I just hope she doesn't fire me for being sick.

@purpleTree4652

ugh… oh no Tree :(

so sorry to hear that for you. Im sure you don’t want to be off the whole week (and maybe you might even feel some guilt for having to miss work for so long)?!…. But I think perhaps the best decision has been made so that you can honestly take some  time to rest and recuperate properly. I know In some cases if a mask is worn the employer may be Ok with that for a few days.

But I feel confident that you should not lose your job over this matter. This is not something that anyone can control. And you didn’t ask to get sick. Im sure the employer understands these things happen. Please try to get the rest you need and prayers & positive vibes your way. This week will go by quickly and you’ll be back to work in no time.

You're right.  I do feel guilty, especially since I am off for a whole week next week, too.  So I am going to be off for 1/2 month.  Instead of jumping for joy, I feel bad about it.

Hopefully my employer will want to keep me.

@PoliteOcean It sounds like things have been going well for you, it's good to hear that! 😊 I need to do a purge as well soon... I have things from other cities/states that I haven't fully gone through you, since moving around a lot...

Do you have recommendations for cleaning/decluttering? Do you follow the clutter-bug or the konmari methods? It always feels nice after a big clean, I think I'm going to go clean right now tbh...

@ImpudentIncognito

Hey there!... Thank you so much for your kind words :)

I totally understand how it can be so easy to see things "add-up" over time especially if you move around often.

As far as any recommendations, I don't really follow any methods (except my own) !🤣🤪..... But for "me personally" that basically means just starting with "one" room, and starting with the thing that needs it the most! It could be "drawers", it could be a "closet", etc...But I start with whatever I feel needs to be purged the most. Clothes/Shoes are easiest! Get rid of whatever don't fit or work anymore! (I ended up with at least 4 bags full of "older stuff" that I haven't worn or touched in years)! And donated them all.

Then I take a look around the room and declutter any "cluttered spaces" and get rid of any things or furniture that don't work anymore. And then anything that I keep, I clean it up, organize it better, and move onto the next room to do the same.

I also gather up any old papers, or bills, or old mail etc... that have been laying around and start shredding everything. Sometimes just little things like that can make an area look "overly cluttered"!

But Focusing on "one" room or area at a time helps it to not seem too overwhelming.

Good luck to you and I hope that you were also able to tackle any cluttered spaces for yourself. It does surely help you to feel like you are getting "fresh start".

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went. I started reading my commentary on Exodus. Sunday my new poetry book arrived. It's 19th Century American Poetry Volume II. I went to the library twice and for a walk 3 times. Tuesday I came out of the library and Chuck couldn't start his car. It was nerve-wracking. He called an Uber for both of us. It was the first time I used an Uber. Chuck paid for it. Tuesday I did my laundry. The people I live with are ***.  Wednesday someone left the front door open with the heater on when it's cold 🥶 outside.  I hope I don't marry an idiot. I also put Argan oil on my feet, which ijs an ordeal because the toilet seat cover doesn't fit correctly on the toilet. One more aggravation I don't need. My DVD player is a 🍋 lemon but I don't want to return it. Friday I spoke with my brother Greg on the phone for 35 minutes. Either Alan or William ruined my commentary on Ecclesiastes during the move from the old house to the new house. I'm not going to ask Leslie for reimbursement because I know she's not going to cooperate. I've been watching a lot of foreign films lately. I have a foreign film 🎥 journal and also a foreign film 🎥 notebook. I want to try to start a movie club after I get better. For this upcoming week I have an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday. My blood test isn't until November 28th. Making an appointment with the laboratory was an ordeal ☹️. I'm extremely happy Amanda isn't here anymore. I can get a lot more done.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo~ Thats good that you are keeping up with the things that you enjoy, as well as being able to continue to get to the library and getting in 3 more walks over the past week! Good for you and keep up the good work there. Its good that you are staying active and getting out. Thats too bad about Chuck's car. Its good though that he had the money to actually be able to call an Uber for the both of you. Hopefully his transport situation will change and he is able to have a more reliable car going forwards. As that is definitely important to have for work purposes. Thats good that you were also able to do your laundry and get that done. Argan oil has some good purposes. I used to use it in my hair many years ago for a very brief period. But its a good purpose for the feet as well. I also use baby oil on mine (which can be cheaper as well). But I mix a little bit of oil with Foot "Cream" (not lotion as its not as moisturizing). I was told to use Cream instead of lotion to get better results for dry skin by the person who used to do my pedicures. Hopefully for you, you can find some of these methods to work for you.  Thats good that you are keeping in contact with your brother. Hopefully that is going well for you. And hopefully your thoughts/goals on a movie club with come together for you when the timing is right. Good luck with your upcoming appt and blood work. And please keep us up to date on things. Thank you for checking in this week and sharing with us and letting us know how things are going.

🍁Hey Everyone~ How are you doing today?

I am very tired, and today has had some goods and some bads, but I'm not opposed to feeling darker feelings. Denying the darkness in life has only ever led to worse pain.

🌽 This is our Second November Check-in and we've just endured a "Time-change"~... How are you doing this week?... How do you feel?.... Have you been affected in any way by the change in time?

I hate daylight savings day, but I wish it was always the time where it was brighter in the morning, like now.
We always wake up at the same time, so the change always makes us a little disoriented and tired. It's frustrating because it feels like such a pointless negative sensation.

🌻 In what ways did you take care of yourself this week Physically, Mentally & Emotionally?... What did you do good or well for your overall "Wellbeing"?

I've been keeping up with my workouts as usual, which is great! I have also found a few substitutes I enjoy for the foods I often crave but shouldn't eat too much of, like walnuts and oranges instead of candies.

🌾JUST FOR FUN: When its cold out, Would you Rather wear a "Cozy Sweater"...OR... "A Soft Flannel"?!

I love sweaters more than anything else in the closet. My best ones are ones my mother made for me when I was a teenager 😊

🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?!

It was an unexpectedly busy week at work, which will lead to an unexpectedly busy November, so I think one struggle is trying to figure out how to not feel tired for another month. I need some time that isn't a sprint after this summer and early fall.
As for highlights, I used the leftover pumpkin from a curry I made to make bread, which is delicious and I am having a slice right now 🍞😊

Hey there Star~ Thats good for you that you are accepting of your own feelings of taking the goods as well as the bads. I suppose that is what's called being "mindful". Good job to you on being aware of all of your feelings and emotions.

Great job to you (despite feeling tired and dealing with any "bads") that you've been able to keep up with your workouts!! As well as finding healthier 'swaps' for the foods that you enjoy! Which is ALWAYS a great thing! Walnuts and oranges (one of my favorite fruits) are really great options! Good for you and continue to keep up the great work that you are doing!

Oh how lovely that your mom has made you sweaters that you love and enjoy. My mom used to make me the cutest jumpers waaaayyyyy back when I was a preteen/teen. And to me they were just the coolest at the time. I wish I still had them as well. (Although I know I wouldn't fit in any of them of course, but it would be so cool to just have and reminisce.) How wonderful that you will also have these special things made just for you by your mom!

Sorry to hear for you that things became so unexpectedly busy for you.... I know that can happen out of the blue sometimes. Its certainly then, that we need to find and make time for ourselves to practice some self-care and (even if just for a small portion of time). I hope that you are able to do that for yourself and that you are able to simply find a few moments to relax each day. Sometimes even if we have to "schedule" it in just like an "appointment"! But only that appointment is with ourselves! We are here for you and to support you.

Oh how yummy your bread sounds! Is it simply "pumpkin bread"? Or did you add something else? I love pumpkin bread. I used to make pumpkin muffins (and add in Cinnamon chips) by using only 3 ingredients. It was so moist and yummy. I haven't made it in years. And just reading about yours has me inspired to make it again! lol....  (Also, that sounds like a little 'self-care' time to me)?!?! I hope that you enjoyed every bite!

Thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing and for sharing with us. I hope that this week you find it to be a little less busy for you. And find some calmness. (And some energy) that you aren't feeling as tired. Please keep us up to date and let us know how things are continuing to go for you.

It was pumpkin, flour, eggs, baking soda/powder, salt, and the festive spices! (Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger). I think it would be just as good in muffins, but it is very easy to mix all together and then pour into a single pan, as well (:

  • 🍁Hey Everyone~ How are you doing today?

I'm doing OK, but it might be better soon once my partner travels down here so I can see him. ❤️

🌽 This is our Second November Check-in and we've just endured a "Time-change"~... How are you doing this week?... How do you feel?.... Have you been affected in any way by the change in time?

This week I honestly wasn't doing the best... It's been stressful at work, switching to (mostly) a different position. I still have to cover for others within the department...
I've also been depressed that I'm family-less (other than my son and my new partner), and have no real life friends anymore. My friends end up being people who drink and drive and steal amongst other things... I'm not interested in that lifestyle.
I've also been worried about running into my ex-fiance who almost made me unalive... I accidentally keep seeing him and I get nightmares sometimes. I still need to take him to court for some things he did... Or needs to do (he doesn't pay child support and doesn't make an effort to see our son).

As for time change, we don't have that where I live, so I didn't really notice much of a difference.

🌻 In what ways did you take care of yourself this week Physically, Mentally & Emotionally?... What did you do good or well for your overall "Wellbeing"?
Uh... I guess coming here to 7cups has sort of helped me mentally/emotionally... Physically, sometimes I walk to work which is an hour away, I also have been trying to eat more since I'm underweight for the moment due to stress and other factors...

What I did well overall was eat more tbh, I haven't been eating. I also FINALLY set a doctor's appointment for my perpetual pain....

🌾JUST FOR FUN: When its cold out, Would you Rather wear a "Cozy Sweater"...OR... "A Soft Flannel"?!
Both haha. I can layer the cozy sweater on top of the soft flannel. It honestly depends on how cold it is outside.

🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Struggles:

  • The new job assignment/position has been stressful, and my boss has been stressing me out a bit too.
  • My little one has been waking me up multiple times at night and I can't sleep.
  • I haven't been able to see my partner in a while and have been worried about him due to his situation.
  • I don't have my own transportation anymore so it's annoying trying to do errands and it can take hours by walking or bus. Everything is so spread apart and far away, hard to get around...
  • I keep running into my ex-fiancé who nearly made me unalive (he doesn't spot me, I think, but I see him and avoid him).
  • I have no friends or family...

Highlights

  • Getting more hours at work which is more liveable and make it easier to pay rent.
  • Speech therapy has been helping the little one overall with communication and behaviour.
  • I'll see my partner soon! 💚 And... Maybe at some point we'll take the relationship to the next level, but with planning of course.
  • I have a better idea of where I want to be in life, only struggling part is figuring out how to get there.

🌽What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?!…. WE want to hear from YOU!~

Hmm... I'm slowly getting back into hobbies little by little. I play guitar and sing again. I want to draw again. I used to draw comics and make animations, but it's been awhile. I plan on going martial arts hopefully again and perhaps putting the little one in it with me, along with some music and art classes for him. He enjoys those things, so want to let him explore the interests more.

Apart from that ... Just trying to stop doing my vices and improve my overall life. I'm going to take my time with making friends again and only let certain people in now, not just anyone.

@Tinywhisper11 I stopped allowing him around son when he would ditch his visitations and last minute not take son to his appointments. My ex told me basically that there's "no point" if we're not in a relationship together... I was willing to co-parent with him and I even used to help him out with car rides in the past and buy him food etc or whatever he needs, but he throws this back in my face.

I'm just appalled really he hasn't made an attempt to want to see his own son is all, regardless of how he feels about me. I gave my ex too many chances.

Thanks! My struggles are slightly disappearing, I just have a few things left to do and I'll be set for the most part. 😊 My main support really has been my partner and kind strangers along the way.

Hey there~ We are glad to hear that you are doing Ok (despite the week not being the best for you). Sorry to hear that work has been stressful for you. I imagine that its quite challenging having to cover for others (while trying to do your own work as well). Also, I realize how not having the proper "support system" can make things even more difficult to deal with (such as the wrong or unsupportive friendships, a bad ex-fiance, as well as improper co-parenting and having to do things on your own). I can understand that it must be hard and is not an easy thing.

We are however glad to hear for you that coming here to 7cups continues to help you in ways both mentally and emotionally. And as always, we are here to support you in those ways however we can!

We are also proud of you to hear that you have been able to get in more nutrition for yourself since you weren't really eating Keep up the great work there!!....and its so awesome that have been able to Finally set an appointment for yourself!! Thank goodness for you! Please (only if you wish), let us know how that goes for you and keep us updated!

We can certainly see that you have had to deal with a bunch of "challenges"....I think its amazing that despite those challenges that you have also been able to see the "Positive" side of things in your life! Its so wonderful that you are getting the work hours you need to make things more liveable for you and your child, Getting the Speech therapy for your little one which has helped with the behavior challenges, being able to see your partner soon which will be lovely and you will have the extra support and care that they give you as well as being able to plan for a possible future going forwards, and being able to have the "vision" of where you desire to be in your life! ..... When there is a "WILL" there is Always a "WAY" to make those things happen! Look at all the wonderful highlights now that are coming together for you! You've got this.
It is also awesome that you are getting back into hobbies that you enjoy little by little, as this is not only a sign that things are becoming a little more stable for you, and you are gaining some normalcy in your life, but also that you are incorporating "Self-care" into your life! Which we ALL need and deserve to have! Incorporating your child into some of those things will also be another amazing thing for each of you, as well as adding some great "bonding time" for you both!

It surely sounds like you are improving your overall life!... And from personal experience, I think its great for you that you are also taking your time to consider the "quality" of friendships and who you want to allow into your life (as well as your childs since its a package deal). I can personally attest that its so helpful and beneficial. And wish you the best on all of this and your endeavors!

You CAN achieve whatever you are setting your mind to. Again we are here to support you.

Thank you for checking in with us again this week. Always lovely to see you. And having your share with us and letting us know how things are continuing to go. Please continue to keep us updated!

@PoliteOcean it's national poppy day/veterans say on the 11th but I'm UK is always celebrated on the closest Sunday (today) king Charles did a big celebration in London this morning. And I did the one minute silence, at our local centaph, people meet up there then walk together to the top of the mountain. Lest we forget ❤

I would rather wear my cost unicorn blankets😁

it's been several weeks now since I came down with a virus.tw)  I know my body is ruined and I have no immune system. But it's kinda frightening because the doctors have told me it will be a miracle if I live to 40 years old, and that someday I'll more than likely become completely paralysed (only half paralysed at the moment, thank God) so yeah when I get ill for long periods of time, I get frightened.

@PoliteOcean your a nurse. Thankyou, thankyou so much ❤ you are a hero ❤❤ I will never forget the nurse who spent many hours say with me in the hosital after I was rescued at 18. She would tell me all sorts of stories, and help me to keep calm.she told me she always wanted a daughter named Lola, I didn't have a name growing up, just a number they burnt into my shoulder. So anyways the name I chose is Lola ❤ I'm so thankful to all the health care workers, so thankyou for being a hero ❤❤

@KateDoskocilova

Hey there~ That is great that you are doing good this week! And that you found the "Time change" to be quite easy to get used to! (I personally don't have many issues with the changes either lol). So that is a good thing for you!

Thats wonderful that you were able to sleep as much as you could. And took care of yourself and your overall wellbeing. And gave yourself what you needed!

Hopefully you will be able to find the balance in your struggles between studying and personal life. I'm sure that can be a challenge. Perhaps you can schedule time for both (kind of like an appointment)? Schedule in time just for studies, time for personal breaks and self-care, and then time for friends. Maybe starting with how much study time you actually need to put in for whatever it is that you are studying. And then once those studies are complete, find time to rest your mind and your body and make time for yourself. Then you can be refreshed enough afterwards to make time with friendships on certain days? Good luck and we are here to support you.

Thank you for sharing with us this week and letting us know how things are going for you! Please continue to keep us updated on how you are doing!

? This is our Second November Check-in and we've just endured a "Time-change"~...

How are you doing this week?...I have been cleaning, but I miss writing. It's one my creative element. I feel very off and I had to talk to my dad after missing his birthday party. I have been dealing with severe migraines and they made physically dizzy and sour stomach. I would have not been good company with migraines. I get them every year in the fall just as you turn on the heater.

How do you feel?....I feel off with stuff. I am so worried that I have ingestion that meds have not helped. I want to help my brother, but really he is waiting at one hospital for an open bed at another hospital. I feel guilty and helpless. My brother didn't take care of himself as well as I do. And every time I tell him to do something, it just causes fight after fight. He realized with his disabilities that he cannot do everything he wanted to when going out with his friends and our younger brothers. He is depressed but in denial about it. I am empathetic so I can feel him, but he does not want to face anything.

A part of me feels guilty and like I am wrong as I want to have my own life, and yet I feel stuck because my mom doesn't have my brother's medical record or understanding of all he has gone through (as my dad and I have taking my brother to all of his surgeries and appointments.) I can't leave him with just my mom (as he and my dad don't always get along.) However I want to be with my boyfriend 1200 miles away. I can't even get a job, because I have to take my mom and brother with all of their medical appointments and errands. I don't know how to move on. I feel stuck.

I also feel like a failure as I don't have anyway to improve my mom and brother's living arrangements. We have been stuck in the same messed up living situation for over six years. No privacy, sharing beds, and very close place. I just want to get us a better place and a cat or two.

Have you been affected in any way by the change in time? Kind of as it gets darker sooner and I get depressed.

? In what ways did you take care of yourself this week Physically, Mentally & Emotionally?... What did you do good or well for your overall "Wellbeing"? I have taken a walk, mediate and color.

?JUST FOR FUNWhen its cold out, Would you Rather wear a "Cozy Sweater"...OR... "A Soft Flannel"?! Sweater or Hoodie

?What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?! I need prayer and positive healing vibes for my brother. My brother has gone through a lot his life, four heart surgeries, his amputee due to heart and blood clot infection, and he had strokes. (My disabilities are mental where he has way more physical things.) He has a bad stomach infection and Afib (heart out of control), in which if not healed soon can cause another infection in his heart. I hope they can treat and heal him. He was infected that he passed out on Sunday.

I feel guilty due to the fact that I think icky chicken that I made the other day, made my brother sick. Now I really feel bad. However he barely touched it. I don't know or maybe he just does not take care of himself. I clean myself after going to the bathroom. It's just really icky.

?What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?!…. WE want to hear from YOU!~ I am hoping my family and everyone has a good holiday over the next few weeks and months. I feel like the several 6 weeks will be very shaky for me. I need holiday spirit and hope as I have very little money and our living situation is very blah.

@Rebekahwriter13

Hey there~

Despite missing your writing, its also good that you have been able to get some cleaning done. And hopefully once you are feeling better you can get back to your writing as well. Its also good that you were able to talk with your dad after things with the birthday party. Hopefully all is well there, and you are both in a good place with one another. As far as the migraines, I can totally relate. It seems like its just that time of year for some of us where Fall allergies are concerned. And those migraines can certainly kick our butts sometimes. Have you tried a humidifier? Sometimes that can help with the air quality inside the house. Even taking a small pot of water and placing it on a heating vent can help. (Although Im' not sure what kind of heating unit you have in your home). And of course having some good Over the counter Headache medicines or allergy meds (for headaches) can help as well!

It does sound like you have your hands full with your brother... What has  your mother had to say about the situation with him? Hopefully a bed becomes available for him soon. I can understand you feeling down about his situations, There is only so much you can do. Fighting with one another will only make things worse between you both. I'm not sure how old your brother is, and I do understand that he has disabilities, but sometimes people have to realize things for themselves no matter how hard we try to get them to see things our way. Or the right way.

But it also sounds like you might really need to reach out for some help with maybe a Social worker, or even a good local Church that could possibly help? Someone who can help with transportation, food, getting back and forth from appointments, getting your mom and brother in a better living situation etc...etc... These things, while not always easy, can be helped when you have and find the right help for your situations. I know you stated you live out in the middle of Nowhere, but perhaps if you could google help in your most local surrounding major city, you might be able to find some benefit?  And then maybe going forwards, you will be able to eventually have "more" personal freedom that you desire? I am also wondering if your Mom and Brother have or are eligible for "Medicade or Medicare"? I'm not sure how old your mom is, but your brother should be eligible for services as well as your mom? Maybe you could look into that as well if they don't already have it? As that could also offer some more access to things and more benefit to you all. But it also certainly sounds like with everything your brother has going on, that he could benefit from more "extensive" care such as a home health provider? A nurse or aide that can come to the home to help him, and help alleviate some of the added pressures that are put on you or that you may feel?

Its definitely easier to get moody or even depressed with the change in time this time of year. Hopefully you are able to get outside and get as much "light/sun-light" you can during the day as it could help as the darkness starts to progress earlier.  But its awesome that you are taking walks, meditating and coloring as these things help with improved mood.

I too hope that you are able to enjoy the holidays in the way that you wish and desire. Its certainly a time that we 'should' feel happy and have hope in our lives. While being with loved ones (whether thats friends or family, or whoever you care about or cares for you)....... Hopefully you will find some happieness in these holiday weeks and season.

We are here to support you. And thank you for checking in this week and keeping us updated on things. Please continue to let us know how things are going.
