Treat yourself better
Hello 👀 !
Our relationship with ourselves is often the quietest but most powerful connection we’ll ever have. It’s the voice we hear when no one else is around, the way we treat ourselves in moments of failure or success, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are. 💭
When this relationship is healthy, everything else becomes easier — setting boundaries, building friendships, handling stress, and even facing uncertainty. But when we’re overly critical, constantly comparing, or ignoring our own needs, it’s hard to feel grounded or whole. That’s why it’s important to check in with ourselves, just like we would with a friend.
Here are a few ways to nurture your relationship with yourself:
-
Self-reflection: Journal your thoughts or feelings without judgment.
-
💬Positive self-talk: Notice your inner voice — is it kind or harsh?
-
Time alone: Spend quiet moments doing things you enjoy.
-
Respect your limits: Saying “no” is a form of self-respect.
-
Celebrate small wins: Acknowledge progress, not just perfection.
When we treat ourselves with compassion and curiosity, we grow. And from that growth comes strength, clarity, and the capacity to connect more deeply with others.
What’s one small act of self-kindness you can offer yourself today?💫
@JaniceWang use kind words with my inner voice
@JaniceWang
My inner voice uses both kind and harsh words, when I am doing my routine, it has kinds words but when training, it definitely uses harsh words
@JaniceWang I'm gonna go watch the sunrise 😁 and do some art outside💖💖

What a beautiful reminder to be kinder to ourselves! A small act of kindness I can offer myself is some quiet time, and listen to my body when it needs to rest.
@JaniceWang I love how compassionate this post is! Just reading it has made me feel more calm. One small act of self kindness I can do today is light a candle to make my studying time more aesthetic and ambient. Lighting a candle romanticizes the everyday dullness of studying. :)

Today, I will do some self-care by binge watching a show to escape the grief I feel from my mom passing away.
@JaniceWang One small act of self-kindness I can offer myself today is taking a proper break without feeling guilty—maybe sitting somewhere quiet, breathing, and just letting myself rest for a few minutes. Even small pauses like that can really reset my mind and energy.
@JaniceWang Today, I was really kind to myself. I didn't push myself to do more and more like I always do. I went out with my friends and had a great time together because we've all been very busy lately. And today, as I was feeling a bit lazy, I took a day off and just rested.
@JaniceWang I love this reminder💖 Even something as small as taking five minutes to stretch, breathe deeply, or sip tea mindfully can be a powerful act of self kindness! For me, I try to pause during the day and genuinely acknowledge one thing I did well, no matter how minor... it really helps me shift from criticism to appreciation. I also find that celebrating tiny wins builds momentum... it’s amazing how small acts of self care ripple out into how we interact with others! For today, I think I’ll write a short note to myself appreciating the effort I’ve put into staying consistent with my routines!
This is so true! Happiness, they say, comes from within and that often comes from loving and being kind to yourself. We deserve better and the one who needs more kindness and love should definitely be ourselves.ð«¶
