living in the moment.

One of the most important core values I learned in the course is living in the moment.

‎Living in the moment, for me, means being present with all your senses, here and now. Most importantly, being mentally present here and now. At least your thoughts are organized, even if you don't understand and analyze them all. You feel secure in who you are.

‎This value has helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself, achieve balance and development, and manage my emotions and impulses. It has also helped me overcome difficulties and move forward, avoid looking back, see people for who they really are, and recognize this in myself so I can move forward for the better.

‎I have incorporated this value into my life through meditation exercises, breathing exercises, daily walks, listening to my body and what it needs and craves, eating healthy food, taking a relaxing bath, flexibility exercises, practicing a hobby I love, planning and achieving my goals, reading books, and writing down whatever comes to mind on paper.

‎In your opinion, what would our lives be like without this value? And what impact does it have on our lives and development?

‎Share your opinion with us.

‎Many thanks to everyone who interacted and participated.

Without living in the moment, where would you live? If you live in the past, you may learn something, but you will never be able to utilise the knowledge as to take informed steps requires a solid footing in the present moment, solid ground to push off and make progress.

If you live in the future, your head is always in the clouds. Again there is no grouding in reality in order to proceed.

Living in the present is in itself an act of mindfulness, a way to understand the self and gain knowledge of truth. It allows for progressive adaptation, which leads to limitless realisation of potential.

@decisiveLemon8530 Thank you for this beautiful reflection. I agree—living in the moment really helps center us. For me, it’s the difference between reacting and responding. Without it, I’d probably feel scattered and disconnected from myself.

Living in the moment has helped me slow down and actually feel my life instead of constantly analyzing or trying to fix everything. When I am present, I notice small moments of joy that I would have missed before, and it makes me feel more connected to myself and what I really need.

Living in the moment used to be a difficult skill for me as I would find myself either constantly look to the future or spending my time dwelling in the past.

I have learned now that spending time in the moment is vital, particularly when I'm with others as this means that we all spend time in connection in the moment.

Without this value, I think life would feel much more chaotic and disconnected. We’d be caught in a loop of regrets from the past or anxiety about the future, missing the richness of what’s right in front of us. Our relationships might suffer, too—because when we're not fully present, it's harder to truly listen, connect, or empathize with others (and ourselves).

For me, living in the moment creates space for clarity and compassion. It allows me to slow down, tune in, and make choices from a grounded place rather than reacting automatically. It’s not always easy—especially in stressful times—but it’s in those very moments that presence becomes most powerful.

@decisiveLemon8530

Focusing on the present is especially important when we face challenges. Instead of worrying about what has happened or what could happen, taking a moment to breathe and concentrate on the current moment can help us recognize what truly matters now. As you mentioned, this practice aids in managing emotions and maintaining balance.

I appreciate that you identified ways to stay present. Without this value, life can become overwhelming, and we may neglect what is important right now, potentially missing out on significant opportunities.

Thank you for sharing your post!

@decisiveLemon8530 What feels more real: The past the present or the future?
