Hello Leadership Crew!

I have just gone through the introduction thread and read about all of you. If you havent yet introduced yourself, then please stop by and share a little about yourself so we can get to know you. Im encouraged by all the great people that have joined. This should be a fun and enriching program!

Let me first zoom back and talk more broadly about your career and how we can help. When you become a leader on 7 Cups, we want you to find the work fulfilling. Fulfilling work means that it is:

a) work you are good at;
b) work that is interesting to you; and
c) work that solves an important problem or meets an important goal (Thiel, 2015).

The sweet spot is that blue area in the middle below.

Work Alignment Diagram

If you do work that you are good at, but not interested in, then you wont do a great job. If you do work that you are interested in, but not particularly good at, then it wont be great work. If you do work that you are good at and interested in, but it isnt helping to solve an important problem, then we wont be a good fit for you. We need alignment on all 3 things. We work very hard at the beginning of your work with us to match your inherent strengths and interests with needs we have so that we can work together to solve problems that we all care about.

You have strengths – things that you are just really good at when compared with others. Operating out of your strengths feels good, is personally fulfilling, and enables you to hit flow states. As a result, you are much more effective and productive. Operating out of weaknesses is a drain. If you have to do work that you are not good at, then you wont be as effective. Doubling down on your strengths enables you to level up much faster and it helps 7 Cups make much more progress.

The next step becomes helping you find ways to identify your strengths, gifts or natural talents. You can learn some of this through self-observation - what do you seem especially good at? Are there things that just come natural to you that are more challenging for others? My wife, for example, is really good at writing; it just comes natural to her. Im pretty good at public speaking, whereas others find it more challenging.

Another way is to ask people you trust. You can say: What do you think Im good at? Or: what do you think are my top 1-3 strengths? Things that stand out to you about me? Note: only ask people you trust because sometimes people can give you feedback in a harmful rather than helpful way especially if they are not trustworthy.

For the purposes of this course, we are going to use personality tests to help you identify your strengths. Some of these are better than others; they are more reliable and have more research behind them. Broadly, we are using them here to help you begin to map out your strengths and to help you find ways where you can naturally excel here on 7 Cups, in your personal life, and in whatever career your are in or choose further down the road.

To start:

Go to this site here and take the test: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

Next, in the thread below, answer the following questions:

1. What is your personality type? Include your 4 letters please

2. What were the main things you learned about yourself?

3. What are your top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test? Please describe them.

4. Please then reply to 3 of your peers in this thread with encouraging or supportive words!

Last, when people interact with one another, it makes the course more enriching and it allows us to learn more about one another. In addition to posting in the thread, please also be sure to respond in a helpful and positive way to at least 3 other comments in this thread.

You can also ask any questions in this thread and well respond to them as well.

Very excited to kick this off with all of you!

1. What is your personality type? Include your 4 letters please

ENFP-A Campaigner

2. What were the main things you learned about yourself?

I learnt that I usually find it hard to stay focused and determined towards my goals and get distracted easily. I also learnt that my willingness to help others might end up compromising my own well-being since I become too selfless for my own good sometimes. I would like to work on these two traits and improve them.

3. What are your top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test? Please describe them.

My top three strengths are:

Excellent Communication, Curiousity, Observant Nature.

@Irena0225 Oh wow! 89% for feelings is crazy! I can't imagine what it's like for you because I already feel a lot haha. Also, I'm a bit confused about these percentages because that's not how I view myself as I think I'm much more introverted than it shows. Anywho, I guess we're both born listeners with that feelings part haha. heart

1. What is your personality type? Include your 4 letters please

I am the protogonist: ENFJ.

2. What were the main things you learned about yourself?

I'm not sure I learned something new, but the description reminded me that sometimes I may push others farther than they are willing to go. I relate to that. I definitely agree with emotional hypochondria. And I agree with being idealistic, and thus being more likely to feel pity than anger to opposition and also being seen as naive.

3. What are your top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test? Please describe them.

I am tolerant, so I am a good team player and listener. I am reliable. And I am charistmatic.

4. Please then reply to 3 of your peers in this thread with encouraging or supportive words!

Hello~ 👋

I totally relate to the idealistic part (feeling pity rather than anger and being seen as naïve). But I don't think seeing the best in people is necessarily a bad thing 😊! Tolerance, reliability, and charisma are amazing strengths to possess; so go on staying amazing 🌺~

1. What is your personality type? Include your 4 letters please

Hello~ 🌺

My personality type is Advocate (INFJ-T).

2. What were the main things you learned about yourself?

Honestly, I don't usually tend to believe personality tests because usually they're not too accurate. But this one is 🤯! I don't know how they did it, but this test was on point about both my strengths and my weaknesses! I didn't really learn anything per se, because I spend a lot of time on self-reflection, but it was amazing to see my personality and my strengths/weaknesses actually written down by someone other than me. Normally I might find it a bit invasive since I'm generally a private (not cold, as some people often confuse the two 😊) person, but this is actually interesting on a psychological level; I definitely want to learn more about how they do it!

3. What are your top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test? Please describe them.

According to the list provided; my top three strengths/gifts are "creative", "insightful", and "inspiring and convincing".

"Creative" 🖌️: Combining a vivid imagination with a strong sense of compassion, Advocates use their creativity to resolve not technical challenges, but human ones. People with the Advocate personality type enjoy finding the perfect solution for someone they care about. This strength makes them excellent counsellors and advisors.

"Insightful" 💡: Seeing through dishonesty and disingenuous motives, Advocates step past manipulation and sales tactics and into a more honest discussion. Advocate personalities see how people and events are connected. They are then able to use that insight to get to the heart of the matter.

"Inspiring and Convincing" 💗: Speaking in human terms, not technical, Advocates have a fluid, inspirational writing style that appeals to the inner idealist in their audience. Advocates can even be astonishingly good orators, speaking with warmth and passion. This is especially true if they are proud of what they are speaking for.

3. What are your top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test? Please describe them.

According to this session, I am INFJ-T aka The Advocate.

The main thing that I learned is that I like to help others, providing a voice that is not previously available to them, which I think is a good match, given the services that us listeners provide on 7 Cups. Despite being a more physically introverted type, my brain apparently leans further towards the extroverted side.

Three main things that learned are that INFJ-T makes up less than 1% of the overall population, that I can apparently leave upon a large mark onto the world, and that I have to remind myself to take care of myself (otherwise there is nothing left to give).

Hello everyone! So this is what I learned from taking the test:

1. I'm an INFP-A ( The Assertive Mediator)

2. A Mediator (INFP) is someone who possesses the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits. Making up only 4% of the population, these rare personality types tend to be quiet, open-minded, imaginative, and apply a caring and creative approach to everything they do.

3. My 3 main strengths are - Good listener, Assertive and visionary communication style, guided by principles

All that is gold does not glitter; not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither; deep roots are not reached by the frost

Hi! Below are my answers:

1. My personality type is Campaigner(ENFP-A)

2. The main things I learned about myself are that I tend to embrace big ideas and actions that reflect my sense of hope and goodwill towards others. I love making connections with people, with the animals, and with society. These social and emotional connections make me feel better than the sheer excitement and pleasure at the moment.

3. My top 3 strengths or gifts according to this test are excellent communicators, know how to relax and very popular and friendly.

Campaigners like me have strong people skills, they love no matter what kinds of conversations, we are adept at steering conversations towards our desired subjects and in ways that feel natural and unforced.

Know how to relax and have fun sometimes is also really important because nothing is more important than having fun in your lives:-)We know when to shake up and burst our energies.

We are super approachable, interesting and exciting. Also cooperative, friendly and empathetic deposition. We can get along with pretty much everyone:))

1. Meditor (INFP-T)

2. I learnt that I see the good in people rather than the bad. I also found out that I tend to listen to a lot of people but only talk to a certain amount.

3. Passionate and Energetic - When something caputures my imagination, I put all my efforts and time into it. I'm also the first to lend a helping hand to someone who needs it.

Open minded and Flexible - I tend to support others beliefs and ideologies as long as others don't challenge me on my perspective

Seek and Value Harmony - I work hard to make sure every voice and perspective is heard
