What is one thing you are grateful to have been able to accomplish this year and what is one thing you would like to accomplish in the coming year?
@amiablePeace77 I am grateful that I was finally properly diagnosed with REM sleep behavior disorder this year, and I hope that I am able to improve my treatment plan in the coming year.
@Anika3118
Getting a diagnosis can be very important. I hope the new plan will help.
@amiablePeace77 Thank you! I have an appointment this Thursday to work on my treatment plan. Fingers crossed it goes well! Working really hard to be an advocate for myself.
@amiablePeace77 ooo! This is a hard one, cause my life is slow and boring and I don't really do much. But I have learnt this year how to use a woodburn electic art tool. And um. That's it. Next year I want to get braver😁❤❤
@Tinywhisper11
I had to google woodburn electic art tool but now I understand what you mean. Many years ago I heated "stamps" to create pattern on wood but did not know about this electic art tool. Sounds like great fun! I'm looking forward to hearing from you about next year! 😀
@amiablePeace77
One of my neighbors does jumper cable wood burning art. It's blown off people's arms but...so far he's okay 👍
@amiablePeace77
I passed my classes by a thread, but I did it which I am very proud of because I barely understood a thing my teachers were saying.
Next year, I want to go to the gym more often and blow off steam.
@amiablePeace77I am grateful that I was able to make my mental health better. I was able to find better opportunity, i found an amazing workplace, great people and learned something new. I am grateful for the support I have.
@amiablePeace77 What is one thing you are grateful to have been able to accomplish this year and what is one thing you would like to accomplish in the coming year?
I have accustomed myself to do self care on a regular basis so I am not just looking for self care when I am in distress, but practice even when I am feeling good. That way when I am in distress, I can do self care without having to struggle with my reluctance to practice.
@soulsings
I am doing the same thing - daily meditation & breathing exercises pay off, when presented with an unexpected anxiety-inducing event.
@CaringSub glad that is working for you. Good strategy.
@amiablePeace77
I'm grateful that I accepted more about myself through awareness, intelligence and hard work and would like to have more fun next year.

You did well! Time to have some fun too! What is something you really enjoy doing?
@amiablePeace77
I really enjoy singing, playing guitar and hitting the skatepark. But I enjoy it with others and don't know anyone where I live 😞
@communicativePond1728
Singing, playing guitar and skatepark sounds really nice. Have you ever considered to join a choir or a band? It might be a good opportunity to make friends too.
@amiablePeace77
Yeah, hey peace, how's it going? Thanks for the post, reply and work you're doing in the mindfulness community.
I have considered it, and even did it to the point where I was jamming with a crew pretty regularly. And I was getting up to traffic speeds on my longboard, finally learned an ollie and was getting comfier and more exploratory in the skatepark.
But I only have a longboard now, a kinda of *** one, not a skateboard, and am old-ish and in a new town where I don't know anyone.
And trans-generational trauma is blocking me from doing it...my family were all pretty prolific singers and in bands and big choirs, usually in lead roles and positions, with huge accomplishments.
But I do have a great hardtail Kona bike right now, which I did take to the park here once, and I have been practicing guitar and singing and listening to music again.
It's just when my mom got sick...and my parents divorced...and I wasn't given the support I needed in my life...and was assaulted and all this stuff...well that and about 30 other big things are messing with me, not to mention countless medium and smaller things.
So I'm just chipping away at it...exploring and cozying up to things like self care, journaling and vision to make my way through.
But I'm terrified. I don't think I can do this. And counselling has always been some big fiasco and is some big fiasco: Finding 'the right fit' is a myth.
I did a gratitude letter to myself a couple days ago though, and want to do the future self letter soon. Then take the new course that's come out on here. And have done and am doing all the other things.
So if I can keep going down this path then it'll probably be fine. I'm just still pretty skeptical and suspicious about it, but that's fine.
...one more fine and it's probably problematic.
Anyway, I got inspired and made a couple little collages after first reading this post. Maybe I'll make another one actually...
I have some free time left on my Canva trial subscription, and god knows it's important to make my vision as specific as possible. You kno I've manifested half-baked visions that resulted in proverbial food poisoning.

@communicativePond1728
Thank you for sharing your will list! It such a pleasure to read about the things you like to focus on to improve your well-being despite all you've been through! It's inspirational! I love your idea about the gratitude letter to yourself and the letter to write to your future self.
@amiablePeace77 I am grateful I survived this year. I found a good therapist and we resolved a lot from my past. I am grateful I am healing.
The next year I would like to learn to say 'no' to any new project that comes up and to some current projects I already have. Not work in my personal time and dedicate the time to myself and my family.
@amiablePeace77
One thing I did accomplish this year was to get out of very high debt (even though it was through bankruptcy it gave me a better sense of sanity).
Next year I want to accomplish even better self control over my finances.
@cyanVase4070 good that you were able to stop the crisis. I hope you can find a way to live within your means. I use credit card only to pay for things I have the money in the bank to pay for.
Living another day and handling the work stressful challenges this year.
Make it through school next year for Masters.
@MoonLightShadow423 good luck with that!
I'm grateful my long covid recovery has allowed my body to be able to walk more than 4000 steps in one day, and I've done it a few times now! Felt like a huge accomplishment and validation that yes, I am slowly getting better! Nice that it is more than double where I was last year at this time.
Don't take health for granted, it's fragile even when you have it!
