@exuberantBlackberry9105

I think it is an excellent question. To which I see several parts.

Caffeine is a drug that affects mood and can be addictive. Chai and black tea contain caffeine. I don't drink either, but I know lots of people who do. And I see lots of what looks like addictive behaviours in those people, who seem to be completely oblivious. It is a good question, are these people using a drug to manage their problems. I don't know the answer.

But there are many other sides to tea drinking. The act of making someone a cup of tea, even if that someone is yourself, is an act of love. It is doing and giving something as a symbol of love. Drinking tea is a symbol of pause, of taking time to reflect. Taking a break to reflect is another self care activity. And, as it is frequently done with other people, community, connection and sharing. All these things are well known to help with problems. There are plenty of fruit and non-caffeinated teas out there. And I see no reason why those benefits shouldn't apply just as much to fruit teas as chai.

How can we know whether drinking chai helps because of the caffeine or because of all the other effects. Maybe there are sone studies out there. But maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe you can try fruit teas and see if it helps?

And one last thing. I detect something of a joke in the image. I think the writer is making a bit of fun of themself and their chai drinking. And being able to laugh at ourselves is another great way to put our problems in perspective. And this tool requires no caffeine.

So I conclude that the are many tools in drinking chai that are available to those who don't want to use caffeine. Might any of those help you?
