Our next December Leader is… *drumroll*... @soulsings!
Soul has been a part of the 7 Cups family since 2015 and has contributed to the building and development of several projects over the years. Soul’s patience and compassionate nature embody what it means to be a mentor. Here’s what our nominee said + some shoutouts!
Why are you nominating this person?
- For their constant efforts to grow and support the site and also growing the 7cups online therapy.
- They helped me to move forward by supporting me, and being available to chat with me.

One fun fact about you:
Half of the members that review me refer to me with the pronoun she and half with he. So I may be the first hermaphroditic Listener at 7cups! Empathy and compassion are not gender based. Anyone can express those qualities. Anyone can be a good listener with practice. To me gender is not important but being a compassionate, kind person is the foundation of being happy and making others happy too.

What is your proudest 7 Cups achievement?
The thing at 7cups that gives me the biggest thrill is when a member comes with a need to be heard and we chat and they tell me "I feel better after talking with you!" That is something I will remember for my entire life.

I'm so glad we are recognizing @soulsings. He has such an appropriate name. I find Soul to be very encouraging, kind and gentle. He shared this poem with us the other day and gave us permission to share it more broadly. I think it captures his heart:
7cups - my home away from home
There is a place where I can go,
There is a feeling this place bestows.
A second family and some new friends,
A listening ear, so broken hearts may mend.
It seems everyone wants a way they can belong
So they feel part of something that makes us strong.
Something that is a refuge from this troubled world,
A place where we can be ourselves without harsh words.
And so I remember how much I am blessed
Knowing such a place, when I am so distressed;
Knowing so many people that are so much like me,
