No. :) I don't believe they track IP addresses. But when you sign up for any account on any website, I'd imagine that your IP address gets stored because that is how you're able to visit any website. Without an IP address, the internet doesn't work (or I might be mistaken here)... IP address is just your internet's ID basically. And they don't track it nor store it.

Every website records your IP address, if that's what you mean by "track". How long the records are stored is uncertain. They might be discarded after an hour, or kept forever, or something in between. It's possible that 7 Cups doesn't even know how long the records are kept, because the servers are probably operated by other companies and the precise details might not be in the contracts.
In addition to 7 Cups servers, when you use 7 Cups you are connecting to other servers owned by Google and other companies. I don't remember the full list of other companies. These servers also know your IP address and they can keep records for as long as they want.
And in addition, your Internet service provider keeps records of every server you connect to.
It's probably useful to know that an IP address does not normally identify you on the Internet. Most people connect using IP addresses that are shared, or recycled, or both shared and recycled. If I tell you my IP address you cannot work out who I am from that information alone.

I will admit I know VERY little about the backend technical stuff, but MidniteAngel is correct that we do have IP bans for those who are repeatedly creating duplicate accounts after being banned, so there is some fashion in which they are used.

Your IP will be stored with your account (s). This is because, if you were to get muted or banned, this will be added to your IP. This is to prevent people just making another account. No body can see your IP, not even mods. We will NEVER use it to contact you, and is kept in a safe and protected place. In essence, every website you visit will store your IP, but we have systems in place to keep you anonymous
