We have all loved experimenting and posting in our feed since it launched! 
I have noticed that many members have been hesitant to join in & follow each other and fellow listeners. The feed is intended to be a place of sharing, connection building and encouragement. I follow many people whom I have never chatted with & for those of you who are comfortable with that, I want to invite you to join the..... drum roll please..........
Follow a Member Marathon!
What is the follow a member marathon?
A 1 week event in which we encourage members & listeners to follow each other! Specifically, if you look at your follow list and you see that you primarily follow listeners, go find 26 members to follow!
26 miles in a marathon & 26 members in the follow a member marathon!
How do you find people to follow?
- Forum
- Group supports
- My impact contact list
- Reposts on your feed
When does this start?
RIGHT NOW!
If you participate, please share the names of the 26 members you have followed in this thread! When you post write -
"i am honored to now be following....and tag their names"
Once completed, you will earn the "Marathon Badge!"
Anyone, who goes above and beyond the marathon challenge (by listing 26 or more new ppl they are following), will be eligible to earn 1 cheer for every extra person they follow!
How do you find a member/Listener you want to follow but can't find them?
@yzzil I'm not sure I understand your question accurately but I'm still going to try answer it. (:
There are several ways to find people to follow:
1. Go through the forums and see if any posts resonate with you and checkout the feed of such people.
2. Follow Listeners/Members that visit the same rooms you frequent and connect with often.
3. Go on to the official feed of 7cups: https://www.7cups.com/@7cups and check out the people that have posted things you relate to and follow them.
Following is as simple as clicking on the member/listeners name; that will redirect you to their profile, just click on the button named "follow" on their profile and you should see them appear in your following list. If this doesn't answer your question, my apologies.
Thanks for answering. I have done those things but still can't find one specific person I'd like to follow. She posted recently but I was on my phone and you can't follow with the app. When I signed on by net, I couldn't find that post. 😖. Lol

I think that currently, the badge is only available for listeners to get but I believe it was intended for members to earn too. Maybe @Laura can shed some light on this? Thank you so much for being a part of our community!

I was initially VERY reluctant to do this challenge.. I love the idea of getting members more involved in the feed feature, but I was afraid of people feeling they were being followed solely because we have something to gain. However, as more of my friends started sharing some amazing feed posts from members, I decided to get involved and if I made it to 26, so be it. So here we go.
Some members I have followed are my friends, some are members that have spectacular feeds that I just HAD to follow, others just seemed like amazing people that I may of come across on the forums that I feel I connected with. I think 1 or 2 are new listener friends! You are all fabulous people with so much to say, and I would love for you to fill for feeds with your thoughts. <3

@aShhhley, I absolutely understand your previous attitude. I also had doubts about participation.
However, I discovered that when there is a new person in our community, who just "embraced" their membership, and I decide to follow them, sometimes they stick around. I think feeling that they are visible and "worth" following, besides replying to their forum's posts, encourage them to come by the next day. Of course, it's not a rule set in stone, but I value every member who did stay with us.
There's no harm in following inactive feeds, and sometimes it can make a difference ^^;

You know, @Celaeno, You're the member that originally changed my mind about the whole challenge. I saw a few of your posts and your attitude in a few of your forum posts just motivated me to get involved.
You're an incredible person and so inspiring. I'm so happy to have you with us and to see you making such a difference in the community after such a short time here! I think you would make an excellent listener if that's something you would be interested in someday :)

Maybe someday I will have enough courage and strength to become a listener, because I think it's a wonderful position to take on. I would love to repay all of the kindness I've encountered in this community. But for now, I'm focusing on my own health, spending lots of time figuring out how to fit into the world again. I am satisfied with supporting my fellow members. Thank you for the encouragement, though ^^

sounds like you have your priorities straight, and you will know when and if you feel like becoming a listener is right for you, both as you say to pay it forward so to speak and also because frankly listening to others is itself a beneficial self-therapeutic activity (not always and invariably, of course, but often and consistently).
