Preventing Burnout at 7 Cups - A Progress/Growth path
Hi everyone! I hope you have been well. This community is very close to my heart and I care for our volunteers who dedicate valuable time to supporting and helping one another. 7 Cups is filled with many opportunities, a lot of ways you can contribute and make a difference, and thus it can become tempting to take on too much and eventually burnout.
In the past, I have written this post to raise awareness about the potential risks of overworking yourself/spending too much time here even if you are doing good things. But I wanted to do a little more than that and create a practical way for our volunteers to identify and prevent burnout. In an attempt to do, I have created the following path
In order to take the path, please go to this page and look for the 'preventing burnout at 7 Cups' path and then choose it. If you are a volunteer at 7 Cups then I recommend that you take the path.
The idea is to use this path as a resource and provide it to anyone who we feel is at risk of burning out. You can help by sharing the path with users you work with or someone who you feel is at risk of burnout.
Please feel free to recommend step ideas in case I have missed something. I am happy to hear your feedback.
Have you taken the path? Share your experience with us

Awesome Hope !! Thankyouu for the kind reminders ❤
@Hope
I prevent burning out on here or off line by using each night to unwind from the day. I also use sundays for no computer time and grab my tablet and read.
@Hope
That's really lovely of you! Joining the path now :)

I agree, it's a needful thing. In an effort to make volunteers feel better from time to time, one of the things that I speak of is Glens forum post made so very long ago. It seems as if sometimes volunteers can even feel guilty for not being here "enough" and therefor neglect themselves. I love what Glen said, that we can be on Path A or Path B, but all are welcome and that he appreciates all of us, recognizes the contributions no matter what path is chosen. Every little bit helps, it's still helping to change lives, one chat at a time
Some days, it comes down to quality and not quantity
@Hope Wow I need this path!
this is such an amazing idea! burnout is so real and such an important topic. this path will definitely help a lot of people, so thank you! it looks amazing! ❤️
Thanks @Hope
Much needed. I hope it helps a lot of people to take timely breaks
