April 1: Changing the Name of 7 Cups
As you all know, our community continues to grow and thrive. Since starting 7 Cups, we've seen you all engage in incredible community building activities. The number of supportive conversations continues to increase. In addiition to our growth, we have been doing some market testing on the "7 Cups" name. We've been thinking about our name quite a bit. Specifically wondering: how does the "7 Cups" name represent our community? How do people identify with this name? And does this name acurately represent our growth?
The market testing results were very clear. It is time for us to adopt an updated community and site name. In addition to the market testing results, we believe the name, "7 Cups," does not accurately represent our community growth. Therefore, it is with great excitement and pride, that i'd like to announce we are changing the name of our community "8 Cups"!
In the next week, you should expect to see the following changes:
1) Site URL will redirect you to 8cups.com
2) Updates to links and general communications
3) Rename the app & new app designs to reflect name change
4) A new community logo
We are excited to move forward with this change. Thanks everyone!!!

You have all my support on this one. I can't wait for the new name change - 7 Cups is SO old fashioned like seriously dude. About time we became the 8 Cups community. This is the only good change that I've heard for the last year - about damn time as well.
@OrunLeon - looks like someone went and registered 8cups.com already so we're going to use atecups.com instead.

You have my support whichever name you choose, but I usually don't trust anything I read, see or hear on April 1th. 
Just wondering but why the change? What is significantly changed by making it 8cups? I mean, I like that the eight is also an infinity sign, rotated, but "seven cups" definitely sounds nicer to say than "eight cups," since 'seven cups' is iambic and doesn't have the cacophonous hurdle between the double stress of 'eight cups.' I hope this doesn't sound too critical! I just think it's an interesting shift and would love to hear the story behind the change!
