Benefits of play for our well-being
Do you ever feel like your mind is about to explode from all the thinking and mental effort you're doing?
Play helps pause the part of your mind that’s always busy thinking, doing, and creating, giving your brain a chance to rest from constant control. Play gives us the much-needed break to relax and enjoy the moment.

Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries, which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

Today I spent three hours playing with dinosaurs , action figures, and glitter.
I also made ice cream and had a water balloon fight.
I think I enjoyed it more than my nephew 😁😁😁💙
I think play is vital to allow real connection, laughter, to not always be so serious and to just unwind and live in the moment, not analysing everything 🩵

I'm happy for you that you had such a good day!

Thank you 💕
I love going to the arcade with my son. We run around like little kids, play all the games, eat all the food, win all the prizes. He's forever young at heart so he keeps me the same way.

There used to be many between certain TV programs, needlework and music, maybe walking the dogs or curling up with a cat. These days, all I do is unwind and I am BORED stiff - I wish I could be more active so I would deserve the unwinding 😀 I am one of those people who has always needed to keep my hands busy.

Do you ever feel like your mind is about to explode from all the thinking and mental effort you're doing?
Omg yes no question about it. I’m actually surprised sometimes that it hasn’t exploded yet haha!!
What kind of activities do you find help you unwind?
Writing my thoughts out by journaling, talking to someone else, focusing on/doing other things, music
How do you like to have a good, healthy time, and what positive things do you get from it?
I have a good, healthy time by doing anything I enjoy doing like listening to music. Positive things I get from it are focusing on the songs and not anything bad going on in my life
@amiablePeace77 Yes…a lot of times

I try to set time aside at the end of each day to play games or watch a movie or work on hobbies.

do to never really being allowed to play as a child in way normal ways be. we growup believing play was a wast of time that would be better spent doing other things was even hard as adult to learn to play even for the inside kids
but we now see play is important even for adults for us this just learning to enjoy what we did not have safely as a child
want to say it ok to blow bubbles swing on swings at the playground
play in the sand at the beach
play games on computer or gaming system
your so right it helps a lot also helps in healing from trauma allowing the inter kid to heal and enjoy life that you never had as a child
