@soulsings

Your post came up weird in the preview, but not the post itself. It shows your email address!

@jesusredeemedme2425 I do not see that so it must be a glitch on the app.

  • What is a general area in which you got out of your comfort zone?  Almost finishing graduate school.  Just three more classes to go.

I just stay in my comfort zone. I know. I shouldn't. Easier said than done.

@soulsings

Most of my experiences were about exposure to the public or a crowd.

I remember the first time I (17 then) sang and played the guitar in front of a big crowd, using a mic for the first time too. An older cousin of mine had heard me at some family reunion and just picked me up at home the next day. He was an organizer of some festival. I had NO time to worry about courage because we were busy picking out what I would sing (7 folk songs in 7 languages). I just went with the flow because..... I liked that cousin and did not want to disappoint him. Maybe also, I was too young to be really that self-conscious? I have an old newspaper picture of me finally smiling and blushing at the applause I got then.

Learning not to fear the homeless and work with them, particularly the nights I spent I my church supervising their sleep (with another parishioner). That was out of my comfort zone for real the first time, but actually, none of them was a threat. I learned their names, heard some of their stories, shared cigarettes. Of course, I volunteered again. It became part of my comfort zone.

Deciding to confront someone in order to get what is due to me is something that I have to gather my wits for. It can be a battle for which you need careful preparation

@soulsings My hardest chore is da telephone calling people I am unfamiliar with other than medical purposes included wit not bein’ able to call people I’m unfamiliar wit its having to meet up wit those people face to face wit da most difficult if da corresponding has to dao wit a guy. I am in fear of ‘em due to being abused by males in my past an have great difficulty wit dat. How I tend to at times get out of da comfort zone is by having someone else initiate da situation at which point it allows me to take over ‘cause now wit person initiating for me it gave me da operatunity to listen an observe their manner of chattin’, carrying themselves an observing thereby rakin’ me comfortable to deal wit da person solo. I know I could do better but its breakin’ through da fear dat holds me back.

I have been socializing more with people in a face to face way and through apps on my phone and iPad. But I have been doing more face to face socializing recently.

My general idea to get out of my comfort zone is "It will be hard the first time but if you don't do it now you will never do it"
