From Hopeless to Hopeful
Sometimes the morning just looks grey and feels heavy. Without a motivating force, we might not even want to get out of bed.
Hope is something you can cultivate yourself. Of course, some living conditions can make it harder, there is no doubt about it. Something that helps me to get up and face the day with hope is thinking about one thing or task during the day that gives me pleasure like for example doing something new in my garden or knowing this is the day I will finish a work which took some time.
What do you do to change from hopeless to hopeful, what helps?

@amiablePeace77 I allow myself to be, to cry and to feel. Letting the pain out, acknowledging the hopelessness makes it less scary and once all the things have been seen, it's only a matter of time before the sparks of hope starts flying again.
And what you shared is helpful as well. Someday I'll have a garden too, it must be so fun to spend time there. I'm sure it looks beautiful<3
@BlueDarkAurora
Good that you let your pain out and do not suppress it!
A garden can bring a lot of joy, some people even just have a small container garden and find it therapeutic.
@amiablePeace77 oh yeah that's a fun idea ^-^
@amiablePeace77 I embrace hopelessness because it frees me from hoping that my problems will all disappear by some magical means. My hope is that I will create the causes and or solutions for them to be solved.
@soulsings I’m going to try really hard to remember these words of yours when I feel hopeless. I hadn’t ever thought of it that way before. I have had some success with practicing acceptance in the past, but lately I have felt very resistive and wanting to escape things, wishing they’ll go away. It only prolongs my suffering. I feel better when I’m being more logical and taking steps to solve my problems.
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas you are very insightful to realize that wishing our problems would go away is just so frustrating because they don't. It is funny in a way that the things that have taught me the most are my problems.

What do you do to change from hopeless to hopeful, what helps?
Well, that is something I just had to do today. What helped me go from anger to calm? I first had to recognize that negative thing that made me angry and ask myself why this made me so angry and whether I was justified in the anger. I asked myself how I could look at this more constructively and it made me cry to see how quickly I escalated over a simple thing and by the time I went through this process I was able to let it go and calm myself down.
@WorkingitThrough2
I could imagine looking at the situation more constructively was not easy, but it proved to be very helpful. 👍
@WorkingitThrough2 Showing down and asking those questions is a hard thing to do. And really listening to your own answers and permitting yourself to accept the calm. I struggle with these as well. I’m really proud of you.
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas
Thanks❤️
@amiablePeace77 to me I guess God and people turns hopelessness into hopeful ❤ just a little prayer, remembering to be grateful for what I have and can do, and kind words and support from others. Theese can make the whole world of difference ❤❤

What do you do to change from hopeless to hopeful, what helps?
I loved reading what helps you have or cultivate hope for your days.
For me sometimes it can be one thing while other times it can be multiple things. But it’s always one or more of the following:
- Thinking/being positive or optimistic
- Telling myself certain good things will happen and get done today.
- Journaling about how I wanna make today a great day and working on making what I wrote a reality.
- Appreciation of the fact that I’m alive knowing some people who sleep simply never wake up and all the good things I currently have.
Things like that. There’s definitely more but these are the main things.
Thanks for asking this question. It was inspiring reading some od the answers.
Changing from hopeles to hopeful, that is something I'm trying ro do right now.. mostly it's about changing the way I look at my life.
- problems are good teachers. Focus on what I need to learn from this. It could be a blessing in (a very good) disguise
- remember other situations that seemed hopeless in the past, that I managed to improve or even solve
- focus on what I can do right now to make the situation slightly better - or at least, not worse. I have a horrible problem right now, but getting sick would only make it worse, so I try to take good care of my body.
- remember and try to have faith that, as long as time progresses, new things can and will happen. Everything changes constantly and new opportunities might show themselves in the future. Sometimes the best thing is to just wait, not make it worse, and persevere until that opportunity comes along.
And I recently started praying again, I find that it sometimes helps me
@tinkatuff

@PeggyMeghan111
Not having anyone to talk to can feel very rough. So sorry that you're going through this right now. It might help to talk to a listener 1:1. Please check on their profile if "Listens to teens" is stated.
