How can we cultivate compassion?

* How can we cultivate compassion?
Daily stress, social constraints, and life events in general can make it hard to feel or express compassion for us and others. Gladly, there are ways we can cultivate compassion! One way is to show someone that you are interested in what they have to say in daily interaction.
What are other ways?

@amiablePeace77 checking in on people💖 letting people know you are there for them💖 gestures to let people know you are thinking of them💖 and offering to share your icecream😁💖
@Tinywhisper11
You are lovelyyyyy💖I loveeeee youuuu Whisper! And you know I want to share something with you! A few days back, I was really stressed and feeling hopeless for something I have been working for so long and now it's nearing. It's just there and I was in fear but then, I got reminded of your words when once you dropped a message, "Be kind with yourself and you will do it"! Thankyouuuuu Pretty Soul! And you never know how much greater impact you leave upon people even by such a far distance!
@resilience2025 😭😭 that was so nice to read, Thank you for always being so kind to me 💖💖 I'm glad I could help even if just a bit 💖 hugs you tightly 💗 I love you 💗 I hope everything will go ok, with what your working for💖💖💖💖
@Tinywhisper11
Thank youuuuuuuuuu Whisper 🥺💕
@Tinywhisper11 You are so good at all those things. I love you girl. ❤️❤️
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas 💖💖💖 I love you more 💖💖💖
@amiablePeace77 Showing someone you’re interested in what they have to say is so huge. And like Tiny said, checking in on them. I had trouble thinking of anything else. ❤️
I’ll add trying to put yourself in their shoes, even if their experience is hard to imagine. If we have trouble doing that as much as we’d like, we can still treat them like we’d want to be treated. We can respond with kindness and a listening ear, so that they don’t have to feel alone in this world. Loneliness is a horrible feeling I wish no one had to experience.
@amiablePeace77 To cultivate compassion, I think we first we need to find a way to see that everyone wants to be happy and free from suffering. The irony is some people are creating more suffering for themselves and others. That is sad and not a good strategy to find a lasting happiness.
@soulsings That is so true. Sometimes even when we think someone’s doing something mean, they are doing what they know. Maybe they thought it helped them before. Maybe they’re misguided in what a long-lasting good feeling is vs temporary relief. Maybe they hurt people because they were hurt. That doesn’t mean it’s ok or certainly not that we have to allow it. But maybe it can help us with releasing our pain, forgive from a distance, and understand that it’s not something about us.
@amiablePeace77
Importance is all what we can give people to make them feel they are important!
I believe real connections are actually great, whenever we meet people, we must always have a broad smile on our faces, be an active listener and stay interested in their stories. Give them hugs, positivity and boost! Even sending a considerate message and reminders about how they are as @Tinywhisper11 mentioned, I guess that's all what people need! Love & Care, anything that's from our heart and soul, genuine and pure reaches people💖
I know for me I may not be able to relate the the situation someone is facing but I can possibly relate to the emotion it brought to them
We experience the same emotions just different thing trigger them. That was Epiphany moment.
@funnyDay2670
Good point about same emotions being shared amongst all people but with different triggers!
@funnyDay2670 That’s a really good way to think about it, thank you for sharing that. ❤️
Thank everyone who shares
I new here and sharing seems to be difficult for me. I have stayed so private for so long And silent and scared to share that it has almost caused me to you know just feel disfunctional emotionally.
I find strength from the things you share here and I just want to say think you. Kindness is what I feel a sense of true compation.
And if it's ok i would like to share something that came to me as I going threw one of those dark Grey moments. I feel society makes us feel like we are abnormal if we feel any other emotion but happy. But I think of are emtions like a trafic lights and caution lights. Their warning signs trying tell us something. We need to pay close attention to this and be kind and patience 💛 with ourselves.
Happiness comes from momments but joy is a strength i find inside that is peaceful thay comes.from Jesus for me even when we are struggling ✨️ 😊
To know this will pass its for a momment
Some momments are longer than ever
But not forever
@funnyDay2670 welcome 😊 and I agree, at times society/people expect us to be happy and smiley but it's not good for our general mental health to pretend or fake it, it's important and ok to feel what we feel 🥰
@funnyDay2670 I like the emotions as traffic lights idea!
I try to encourage people to be their authentic selves and to make space for them to express themselves in conversation! I guess this is why I love being on 7Cups, I can do exactly that for people of all backgrounds around the world :)
