Not much going on today. I did some cleaning and organizing. It's also raining here. And I'm sad for all the people in Texas. Scary!!!!!! I guess I'm also just feeling down today. But tomorrow will hopefully be better.

Texas? Is this the hurricane? Yeah, that's dreadful isn't it? Just shows the power of the weather is pretty matchless, even for an advanced nation like the USA. I hope you're well away from it and hunkered down.

I guess if it's been a pretty quiet day for you, and miserable weather outside, that can make your mood feel a little down too. What's guaranteed to put a smile on your face? Cat videos for me, though I also love looking at cake disasters! Don't ask me why, but some of them are oh so funny 😂

Cake disasters! Oh wow! That's funny!!! I am not near Texas! And yes, it's scary and sad. The news said some areas have over 50 inches of water so far and more coming!!!!!! It's horirble! Yes. Rain outside makes me feel more sad.

Oh it's always nice to come home after a trip isn't it?? I'm doing pretty good! I think my new medication is helping to balance things out pretty well, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up this feeling of "pretty good"! I've got a few assignments left to finish and submit today, but other than that it's a pretty easy day! 😊

Oh no! It sounds like you never get a day off? It's a bank holiday weekend here in the U.K., so lots of people have a bonus day off tomorrow too :)

Good that you're feeling things are levelling out for you. That roller coaster gets pretty wearing after a while doesn't it?

@DeborahUK

Oh, no, I don't ever seem to get a day off! I take time for myself throughout each day, but that's the best I can do, cuz otherwise I'd be running myself ragged all the time! And yes, the roller coaster gets rather tiring! I'm really hoping I melt down a lot less this school year than I did last school year. I feel more prepared for it this time around, so hopefully I can make it happen without wearing myself out as quickly as I did last year!

You certainly sound like a diligent student. I can't think my full time studies ever were full time, but that perhaps explains why I'm not a grade A student! I hope your dedication reaps rewards for you 👩‍🎓

@DeborahUK

Thank you! I hope to graduate in 4yrs, which is why I'm pushing myself so hard and taking so many classes. If I manage to make it happen in 4yrs, I'll turn 30 either just before or just after graduation, cuz my birthday is May 26. I feel like I've made a lot of progress, personally, since this time last year, so I'm really hoping I can do better at not getting so overwhelmed with school this year! While I got good grades, and have a really good GPA, I was triaging my assignments by the end of the year because I just couldn't do it all. I was getting too panicky and then I'd end up just sitting there crying when I couldn't figure something out (literally hours once because I couldn't figure out how to cite something). So I carefully spent a few minutes looking at the grading policy for each instructor and going back to look at the assignments I had and deciding which ones I wasn't going to do. I ultimately came up with a pretty good way of avoiding that, and getting everything done, but it was rough. I wasn't a good student in school growing up, and mostly just didn't do homework because I could still pass (barely) by just taking quizzes/exams, so idk why I thought this would be easy, but it has definitely tested my limits lol. Kite and my therapist can *really* attest to that! 😜

You sound like you're living and learning though Bee, and that's pretty much the best way through life. Oh, and not taking it too seriously, (whilst still focussing on what's important to you). But if I were a life coach (I'm not), I'd advocate three L's. Love, laughter, and lots of chocolate!

I think the most important thing I've learned is to ask for help when I need it, instead of just struggling through and trying to figure it out on my own and then completely breaking down when I can't. I like trying to figure things out, but there is a point when you need to ask for help, and I've gotten much better at that. I actually preemptively emailed one of my instructors about a paper that isn't even due until November. One of the requirements is to go somewhere that is completely culturally new for you, and not bring anyone with you. So I emailed her and explained why I can't do the "alone" part, and asked if I could use an experience I'd had in a foreign country with my family, and she was completely understanding and said she really appreciated my openness, and that it would be a shame if I couldn't use those experiences for the paper! It really made me feel more confident about this semester, because I have her for two of my six classes. I never would've done that before. I would've just lied about something I did with my family and said I'd gone on my own. Or panicked and waited to the last minute and not done it at all. I think that's a really big improvement on my part 😊

I don't have many words today, Bee, but I like to think that I have improved in this regard as well. I certainly felt that AHA! moment of recognition when I read it. ❤️

That really is a breakthrough Bee. Asking for help can feel so very hard to do. But why we worry about it I do not know! Anyone I have ever asked for help from has been just amazing, yet it's still something that doesn't come naturally. But you know what they say, face the fear and do it anyway. You sound like you have this in the bag :)

@DeborahUK good to hear.

Having a tiring one. Mums bro critical in hospital, hubbys bro wedding prep, my parents and brothers anniversaries and we managed to go to the cinema too. Pushing through, mask on unless with hubby.

Been hard as we got a letter to make a decision on frozen embryos from 3 years ago. Just can't think about it. Was at a different clinic but if we destroy them if feels like another loss. Not ready for that again. Another option is to donate but even that would need alot of thought.

Just tired of deling with stuff . Constant reminders snd flashbacks make sleep very hard to maintain.

Feel deeply for everyone on here. Much love.

Yawn, yawn! I feel tired even reading that. Gone from ten hours sleep to three?? Oh my goodness, you must be exhausted. What's caused that, do you know? That's one of the things I've found so crippling in the past, when my sleep has been shot to pieces. I can't imagine you're thriving on it either. So take it easy, and go easy on yourself. You may feel irritable with yourself and others, but that's the lack of sleep talking, not you. I hope you soon settle back into your usual pattern, and begin to feel more like you again.
