Rumor Spreading - Not Helping Anyone/ Only Hurting yourself?
My dear friends,
Over the past week, we have made some posts about restructuring our team. I know this is hard to hear. It is hard for me too.
As we have been navigating this news, it is clear that rumors are spreading and I would like to professionally ask you to stop.
If you hear a rumor, please do not spread it. And please do not assume that the information you have received is true - it's likely not. I ask you to step up, be the bigger person and act in a professional way - remind your friends, peers, and listeners that spreading rumors is not the answer.
Rumor spreading is hurtful to our entire community. And most importantly, it does not resolve pain. Remember, 7 Cups is a professional organization. We expect you all to act in a way that represents the best interest of yourself and our entire community. Rumors break us down. Now is the time to be building one another, not bringing one another down.
If you are in pain, please do self-care and take care of yourself. Please use a healthy outlet for relieving your pain. I want each of you to be healthy and well.
Out of respect for everyone involved, please stop spreading, sharing rumors.
PS - if you do need to blurt your gossip out - please use the gossip dump form. I will not read the submissions.

@Laura Did anyone play that game 'telephone' when you were younger? You whisper something in someone's ear and then pass it on and see how the message changes once you get to the last person in the group.
The point is, that when you spread rumors the message gets more and more distorted as it passes between us all. Keep in mind that what you hear, may not be the original message and may not be interpreted as the original source of the information intended.
If you have questions about something you hear, please direct those questions to the original person who communicated that message. 
@Kate Sounds like the game chinese whispers. Hadn't heard anything about this but yes there's been a lot of rumour spreading in general going on lately and i and many others are getting tired of hearing that happening to folk and seeing the affects this has been having on people caused by those who have decided to elicit that in the first place. Also getting very tired of how some people seem to be placing blame for rumour spreading on certain communities when in fact those communities have been unfairly targetted and havent been involved but have been implicated by rumour spreaders outside of those communities, so whoever you are please stop it because all you do is cause damage, heartache and pain and your actions end up with people feeling like wanting to leave a site like this because they have had enough of the petty game playing that goes on here with peoples minds and feelings! And instead of putting other communities down, support one another and work together to strengthen communities, rather than allow these people to break communities down
@Rain45 The name was switched to telephone due to the racist undertones of 'Chinese Whispers'. Other games have had similar name changes for the same reasons.

@Rain45 Indeed Rain, it's alle a bunch of Hoot an Phoohey, and it's disheartening. When I log in, I do so believing that every listener from every corner of the cup is my colleague and that we have each others backs. Ugly rumors and elitist ego's just have no place here in my mind. What we have here, and what we alle strive to bring to the world has had great impact alle over. Here there is such amazing potential to be the absolute premire Mental Health Support Site on the net, let us not allow frustration, ego, fear, Jealousey, or any other negative emotions or factors get in the way of this. Remember why we are here, plain and simple it's to helpwhomever needs us. That goes alle the way around.

@Laura Thank you for letting this be known Laura! I dont have many 1 on 1 chats with other members or listeners, so I wouldnt know of any rumors... But If I see anything being spread in the chatrooms while moderating I will quickly nip it in the bud! Yes guys, this isnt a middle school slumber party please stop spreading rumors, were supposed to lift eachother up in this community... 
I agree completely with this. People who love to spread rumours will spread it but it is our duty not to believe it whether its a person or the community. And we should also try our best to stop it from discussing that publicly in any form.
Can you please explain to us what happened because it took us all by extreme shock and some of us are left with a bit of heartache for our friend .

@Laura I agree rumors are hurtful! I really like your gossip dump form, great idea.
I am seeing there is a lot of confusion in our community right now and people are not only feeling upset, shocked, sad, hurt, devastated, others are feeling completely in the dark. Is there anyway we can clear things up for our community which would hopefully stop anymore rumors but also help with the hurt, pain, sadness and shock people are feeling?
I have been here over three years and our community has always been open and honest with everyone. I truly think it could help everyone to understand what is going on really, especially when it comes to some of our most beloved leaders! Maybe even have a space where they can get support and share their feelings?
*Hugs* to everyone in this most difficult time. i do not have anymore answers then anyone else but I am here for support if you need it.

Very well put, MusicalMagic!. This truly saddens my heart, to hear this. I came to this community to be a listener, becuase of the respect, kindness, and overall compassion that this community offers, to so many needing help, support, and love. The numbers are growing daily. As listener's, we should be proud of this activity, and thrive everyday on making this the goal and focus point!
I truly hope, the rummors and gossip ends.
If life ended today, would are words mean more, or could we be more wise, to not cause more sores.
Rumors are hurtful, I do agree.
However, transparency heads off rumors, or at least the bulk of them. I would suggest to you that your post is more likely to cause more rumors than reduce them.
As I still have no idea what is going on, I'll officially go back to my previous state of contented befuddlement. Geezer A level attained.
From the sounds of things, i am truly happy i have not heard of any rumors going around here and I truly dont want to hear it.
Rumors are hurtful and can be devastating. I am sorry to those involved *hugs to you* and remember they are rumors, nothing real and no truth behind it. Stand tall and look passed those who believed them to be true... you are better than them.
