My #1 tip, link or suggestion for all new 7 Cups users is.....
Smile u are someone special
Be courteous, kind and compassionate!
Dont be afraid to ask questions! The more you ask the more you can support the person and it also gives you the opportunity to get to really know about the person and keep the conversation flowing.
@Laura - for listeners, don't be afraid to ask for help! Finding a mentor can be the best anchor for a steady role in this community, as I have learned - the guidance of others more experienced usually matters, and even if you are partly sure - confirmation is a wave of relief!
Read the New Listener's Primer and FAQs for you can pick up a lot of imortant things there. And sign up to be paired with a Mentor for they can help guide you through most of the difficulties you are encountering (even with an ongoing chat) and you can ask them about all the questions you have regarding the chat. You can find them here, or sign up to be paired with one here. And most importantly, give credits to yourself because you're doing an amazing job !
Engage!
A thin line separates empathy & sympathy. Respect that line.
@Laura
