Someone close to me went through this experience. My sister. She and her husband had been trying to conceive for six years. To make a long story short, her doctor told her after years of trying that conceiving her own child wasn't possible. So, she went through the IVF process (which took for what felt like forever).
Then, on May 29th, 2024, my beautiful niece, Dani, was born. She is now 1 year old and a total mischief maker! 😁

@Ivy229 can we chat? I want to know more about ivf. Im considering egg freezing. And have no clue what to expect. The doctors are so relaxed about it but listening to people's stories is reveals way more.

I think this is an interesting topic. I would love to learn more about what the process is like and because it is deeply personal, I understand why so many would choose to be silent. I haven't had children, although a few cousins have struggled getting pregnant and one lost her baby. Something I am going through is secondary amenorrhea. Have any women experienced infertility due to this cause? Any advice on how to get menstruation back, or stories about what caused it? It's typically associated with stress or an ED, but I know there's more that can cause a period to stop, so I'm curious if anybody has struggled with it too.

Hey, I’m coco. My wife and I have been together for seven years. Financially it’s been a struggle due to my health. We’re getting older and I’m scared we might just say “someday” until we look back at 50 or 60 and realize we can’t raise kids at that age. Not fully. We tried fostering but I couldn’t emotionally part with a child coming into our home, potentially being ours and then they’re gone.

Reading the comments i can tell this was am much needed topic to be introduced and discussed on. Previously i came across @Creamyyy 's thread and we had a convo going there.
I honestly regret not knowing and not bothering to learn much about IVF, about the process, success rate and all the pros and cons in my younger years. I used to think, if nothing works out we'll resort to IVF and we'll be good. But it's nothing as simple as it sounds.
I will share my story too. But today, my heart feels a little heavy and my mind is overly restless. I have a retrieval tomorrow. Its a an overwhelming one as i lost one good follicle during the stimulation process and i'm scared to deat* about losing the remaining ones before retrieval.
So, wish me luck for tomorrow. And i'm glad to be a part of this thread.

Yes. My sister is law was able to finally conceive through IVF after a decade of trying to conceive naturally. We are all super elated and can't wait to meet the little one.
