35+ Community Check-in February 15-18, 2021

Hi lovely people in the 35+ community, I hope you had a great weekend
We live in a world full of stimuli and for many people it is hard to stop the mind racing and bring it into balance.
We will never feel the contentment, joy, love and satisfaction we want in your life with this inner battle going on. To stop it, we need to STOP listening to the chronic chaos in your mind.
Something that can be quite helpful is simply asking yourself this question: “What do I need to let go of right now to be calm?” In other words, what thoughts are causing chaos in your mind? Set a timer for 5 minutes and ask yourself this question repeatedly. Write down the responses that come to mind.
If you try this exercise please come back and share your thoughts about it with us.

Good morning, I am finally after 2.5 years realizing that I’m not alone because of this app. It is soo nice knowing that I’m not ill with some unknown disease. This morning I’m experiencing a panic attack about going back to work in a safety sensitive position praying that i won’t hurt someone or myself. I am new here but I am thoroughly enjoying the connection with others and the plethora of information available here. Thankyou to all that have created and maintain this community! Have a great day!
@Subtendedpage

I’m very happy to be here. I am a single mom of 2 with only a distant older sister as a form a support system... I have no family or friends otherwise and I’m extremely lonely
@lonelylostwarriorwoman
Hi Lonely,
We here at 35+ welcome you to the commubnity and are here when you need support.
I can relate to feeling lonely. I have been a single mom of four for a year and a half now. I miss my ex like crazy and feel at 35 I may never find my one. I fear the loneliness and solitude of being single. I am borderline, so even though I was forced to have my ex removed from my life because he was abusive, I think about the repercussions of my actions and whether I can make it on my own. I feel scared that I'm not able to be present for my children. The stress of trying to be mom and dad and everything at once is weighing heavily upon my chest. I feel I cannot overcome my fears. I have thus overwhelming since of abandonment. I want to be a better mom, not lose my temper and be more present with them. I have isolated myself from everyone during my narcissistic abuse cycle with my ex. Now I feel incapable of making friends. The loneliness consumes me. Its like I can be in a room full of people and yet feel completely alone. My heart goes out to you. I wish I knew how to live my life again but I feel so alone and broken, I hope you can find a sense of community and friendship in seven cups. I am new but I already see the beauty in it what a great place for people to connect and help each other feel heard and able to share their experience strength and hope.

Im new here. 31 yrs old. Stuck in a confusing marriage with my wife. She came out of no where and completely told me she didnt love me anymore and didnt want to be with me. Yet she still cares, makes me food and all. What am i to do? ive tried to be there for her and our little boy, ive sacrificed myself to continue to move forward and to forgive. What more can i do 😞 im trying to hold on as much as i can i cant just leave this family like this.
@Newbie05
This must have been a big shock for you and I can understand that you're left stumped, hugs. So glad that you reached out.
I can only imagine how hard it is for you to hear that the person you've been there for all the time fall out of love. I hope you find help here, we also have a Relationship and Friendship Support https://www.7cups.com/home/relationships/. The Relationship Support Room is open on Thursdays but you also can always connect to a listener to discuss more about what's going on. Hugs.
@Newbie05
hugs!!!
Second time logging in to 7 Cups. I immediately found some comfort in the deeply relateable discussions/forums. Feeling like no one could possibly feel like you feel is lonesome and terribly saddening. Now, I know I'm not the only mind that posesses the incredible power and curse at the same time. Thank you for having the strength for sharing. We may feel weak but those are the times to reach out.
@thebestnobody thank you. I'm glad to hear. I know can be difficult joining a community you think what is this gonna do it helps once you know there's help here for you knowing not alone being in a safe place with kind and thoughtful people who experience this. It's god when that happens. I hope you find help you need. Welcome
@thebestnobody I'm here wanna tal
I've been trying to find calm for a long time. . . I've tried venting, mediating, and one of the few things that calm me down any more is praying while I go for walks, but living in a state with over a foot of snow and very cold temps. . . it makes it very hard when I cannot breathe well in cold weather.
I did the exercise, but I just kept arguing with myself. . . I need to stop the dumb excuses and just do something. I did manage to clean my corner to day that is an achievement at least for me as I cannot stand cleaning.
@Rebekahwriter13
Really sorry to hear that the cold weather affects your breathing. I found this link and hope there are some ideas in the article for you to help with breathing in the cold https://tinyurl.com/ycba2cmf
Thumbs up for cleaning your corner!
@amiablePeace77 I appreciate the thought, but I could not open it without paying the subscription for Harvard
@Rebekahwriter13
Sorry about that. Here is another link with good resources (references) at the end of the article https://www.apollo247.com/blog/article/improve-your-respiratory-health-winter
