1) Introduction to Content and Marketing at 7 Cups (OUTDATED)
7 Cups currently has separate dedicated teams that focus on both Content and Marketing. This discussion outlines both teams and provides an overview of their current focus.
(A) Content Volunteer Team
The Content Volunteer Team was relaunched and redesigned in 2020 and is led by @SoulfullyAButterfly - more information including an application can be found here
Focus:
The team works to improve site content in the following areas:
(i) Questions and Answers (Q&A Pages): Quality answers are researched and written in light of search engine optimization (SEO) and other best practices to ensure that the community gets verified, valuable information in response to common mental health questions and concerns. These answers are considered “short tasks” as they involve quicker content production.
(ii) Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section: Existing, published articles are reviewed to ensure up-to-date information, quality length, expert verified facts and other important topic categories by editors.
In addition, fresh content is produced for:
(iii) Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section: Alongside fresh content provided by experts, the team works to research and produce relevant fresh content articles that help boost information and awareness related to the categories that 7 Cups offers expertise in. Writers are welcome to collaborate with experts to publish co-authored articles or produce content individually to be published under the 7 Cups Community Account.
(iv) All other Content Needs: The team is ready to tackle and undertake content tasks that may come up as other needs. These content assignments can relate to listener guides, upcoming growth path playlists, improvement and support of online therapy-related information as well as many other possibilities!
(B) Team Lightship
As a revamp to the Social Soldiers Team at 7 Cups, Project Lightship was announced in late 2020 as the current volunteer-led marketing team for 7 Cups on Twitter. It is currently being led by @Rebecca947 and @Isentropic
Focus:
The team intends to eliminate mental health stigma by identifying those who need support as presented by social media (Twitter) based messages. The team not only works on bringing awareness by using and promoting mental health-based content but actively outreaches to potential users in need of a safe haven to invite them to use 7 Cups.
The team currently has one track with a focus on:
(i) Outreaching to 20 people with compassionate messages and support per month
(ii) Generating content and posting 5 posts.
As the team is currently testing only one track, we can expect future opportunities with the growth of Team Lightship! Further information, including an application, can be found here
Other Social Media Platforms for Content:
In the meantime, 7 Cups has official accounts on social media platforms that are run by community admins. Students of this current course as well as the Content Team will prospectively add to these content and content marketing efforts!

I prefer all other content for content needs for volunteer team or creating new training guides. Creating new contents that can be icebreakers or scripts for discussions about mental health issues

@SoulfullyAButterfly I had been writing articles for few teen magazines, felt the need to stabilize the mind set of teenagers at the start of their adolescent. This course can aid me to reach them with right content and strategy, i like to use social media as a biggest platform to improve their mental state along with 7 cups.

Thank you for those opportunities. While I can see how much of an impact the team Lightship can make in engaging individuals to join 7cups when they seem interested/in need of, I tend to stay away as much as possible from social media in reason of how easily they absorb my focus and decrease my mood.
On the other hand I am really excited about reviewing content and even more creating new content in term of mental health. I've found really interesting content on 7cups that I sometimes commented on about additional aspects I thought were relevant, or made such comments in my head when I didn't have the time to write it. I am very passionate about elaborating useful content on mental health and would love to participate in it at 7cups.

I am interested to explore the options in both end, however I like to emphasize more on content side. I do like writing a lot and being a scientific guy, I love to create more new contents and do some editing works too. I can interpret modern psychological news and create content of it.
I am a social media guy, but never tried to be an active guy in it. My mind gets occupied with other stuffs, but I can try my hands on it too if needed. Thank you.

I am interested in Expert Mental Health News and Advice Section. As a trainee psychologist and counsellor, I believe research into mental health can aid in better understanding the needs of those who are suffering with their mental health. This can aid in destroying the stigma associated with what is a very serious and sometimes debilitating area of health that is often misunderstood.
I believe firmly in sci-coms that can break down more scientific or clinical research into easily understandable topics that can be used to better aid in the knowledge that can be translated by the public through social media, websites etc. This helps break down stigmas as often these are created through a lack of awareness of such topics.

❤️ I actually have a mixed opinion. About the Content focus, I love to write (when motivated), but I would find the Content Volunteer Team overwhelming. However, I'm interested in making a difference by writing quality content that is meaningful and relevant, mainly because creating something beautiful and helpful is particularly rewarding. ❤️
❤️ About the Marketing focus, I never was a fan of social media, but I am enthusiastic about the concept of breaking the stigma and spreading support and awareness via graphics. I'm also interested in making an impact by inviting others to join us because guiding struggling people to this supportive space can be the beginning of a big, positive change.
