Lost forever
If I knew this would happen,
I would have talked to you sooner.
If I knew you were gone forever,
I would have made your life somewhat better.
But if I knew you were gone so soon,
I would have become a loner.
I know you took so much pain to make me happier.
The reason why I'm standing on your grave,
not shading my tears.
I am so sorry for my trembling hands and for not fighting all my fears.
@Sugarlife24
this is lovely
@Clarisse29,
The Selfish Lover of a Broken Soul
You told me every night
"I need to talk with you".
You were quite the sight.
I had no idea what you got through
Cause then again, every day,
Your smile outshined my worry
And as late as it may,
"I am truly sorry".
If only I knew this would happen
What would I've done
but take refuge in foreign words?
Would I've caressed your skin
with passion never spoken?
I should've lent you a helpful ear.
Instead, I let you rotten.
I loved you every night
Questioned you every day
All you needed was for me to listen
All I wanted was for you to stay.
@Clarisse29
If I knew this would happen, I would have talked to you sooner.
"I think this is the latest you've ever stayed up with me."
Is what she said the last time we'd been together,
A sunrise had never seemed so beautiful when I was in her arms.
Living our own lives in different cities,
I wish we'd have stayed close on a daily basis,
Thinking of you was my only calm place.
I don't think you knew what you meant to me,
It was my awkwardness more than anything,
Even though you were always happy when I did reach out.
I thought it was a joke at first when I saw the post,
I'd never cried so freely,
You were like the celebrity that autographed my life.
I'd never wanted to stop exploring your infinite, lush, and interesting world,
Now I was just wandering by the abandoned riverside buildings,
And I started sprinting all the way down with a possessed adrenaline I never knew,
Screaming so loud and hard that I tasted blood.
I'll always have one foot in the beyond now,
Ready to follow you anywhere,
And everything here will be partly be training towards that eventual future with you.
Now my message to you,
"I wish you could've stayed up a bit later with me",
I never said it enough before,
But now I do every day,
"I love you".
@Torean,
your writing hits hard. I feel like I've witnessed months in a matter of minutes.
I hope to read more from you.
@TryingTBH2021
Thank you! ^_^ It feels good to have my writing resonate with someone.
That said... this one is a totally true story. Actually, beyond that first day when I cried and sprinted and screamed like that... I've felt very little pain from her passing. It encourages me to feel like everything will fall into place all said and done.
And I'm pretty sure you'll get to see more. 😁 I'm totally into these writing prompts, and I've been pushing myself to get back into writing lately

Consequence of forgetting
if I knew this would happen,
i would have talked to you sooner,
i didn’t see the signs,
i didn’t see the hurt,
i was caught up in fantasy,
i was caught up in forgetting,
if I knew you were in pain,
i would have dropped everything,
but I didn't notice,
and now it’s too late,
i hope you’re happy up there,
i hope you’ve found peace,
Because it hurts to remember,
the bad things we pushed through,
(I wish to be tagged)
@Clarisse29
If I knew this would happen, I would have talked with you sooner.
I would have told you
it's a part of me
that awaits me ahead.
I would have the past re-live itself
for me to surrender
again and again in an undying rhythm.
I would have showed you
I'm netiher ashamed of my past,
nor my future.
If I knew this would happen, I would've talked to you sooner,
Now it's too late and I'm already too far into this,
I should have said we done right then and there,
But I waited-I let you emotionally and physically damage me for a year.....
Now I can't go back to my old self....this I'm too far into this emotional state and mind set.....
(.....bye....)
@Clarisse29
If I knew this would happen,
I would have talked to you sooner.
I would have opened up to you,
told you about everything that was
messing with my head.
And you would've helped me.
If I knew.
If I knew this would happen,
I would have stayed longer on those cold nights,
even though I wasn't supposed to.
I would've lied to my parents,
saying that it takes long to close the restaurant
so that I could sit and talk with you on the porch.
If I knew.
Now I know that this happened,
and I still feel the pain.
You were my reason to keep going,
you were like a brother.
Now you're off to college,
and I'm left behind.
Now I know.
@Clarisse29
Dear me,
If I knew this would happen,
I would have talked to you sooner
About how other's happiness
isn't your responsibility.
I would've told you
to put yourself first,
Take care of yourself,
Validate your feelings,
Because no one else will.
If I knew you this would happen
I would've talked to you sooner
About how your sacrifices
fall into blind eyes.
I would've asked you
to take a step back,
Re-evaluate your choices,
Rethink your priorities,
Because you're alone in this journey.
If I knew this would happen
I would have talked to you sooner,
held you and comfort you
when the world crushed around you
and you blamed yourself.
@chrysanthemum97
This is really cool! I haven't seen anyone else write to themselves and I hadn't thought to do so! Very creative if you ask me. It really makes the reader reflect on how their own values and morals affect their own mental health, too. I love this!
Ty ❤️
@chrysanthemum97

My Inner Child
If I knew this would happen, I would have talked to you sooner.
I never would have left you confused and wondering how to get through life.
I would have invited you in to tell me what was really bothering you,
And given you reassurances for all the things you do so well.
I would not have let you believe what others said that was not true.
I would have stood up and said how right you were, though no one heard.
I would have just kept calling out to you, until you answered
And just kept talking to you until your every fear disappeared.
If I knew that you would suffer so long, feeling unloved and uncared for,
I would have dropped everything, just to reassure you that someone's here.
I would have ... if I could have ... I would have always been here for you.
But now that I found out you are here, come be with me, no need to be alone anymore.

@soulsings
That made me cry. It's so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. ❤️
@GoldenNest2727
Couldn't agree more. Thank you for writing this @Soulsings
@ouiCherie you are welcome.
@GoldenNest2727 thanks nest for me it is the sadness of waking up and realizing I forgot part of myself for so long.
@soulsings
I feel that. But the important thing is you know better now, and you won't forget yourself again. You've grown and learned.
@soulsings
This is deeply touching soul! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem.
@soulsings beautiful
