The situation of not being able to express how you feel program day 5
📅 Day 5: Bypassing the Voice (Non-Verbal Communication)
We are on Day 5, and today we are throwing out the rulebook that says expression has to happen through talking.
When you are in a state of emotional freeze, forcing yourself to speak can feel like trying to run a marathon with a broken leg. So, why force it? If your mouth cannot say the words, let something else do the talking for you.
Expression can look like:
• Writing a text or an email instead of talking face-to-face.
• Creating a playlist of songs that match your exact mood and sending it to a friend saying, "This is how I feel right now."
• Drawing, scribbling, or painting the chaotic energy inside you onto a piece of paper.
• Showing someone an article, a meme, or a quote and saying, "This is exactly what is happening in my head."
🔍 Deep Dive Explanation
Communication is simply moving an internal feeling outside of your body so it no longer crushes you. The medium you use doesn't matter. In fact, writing down your feelings utilizes a different neural pathway than speaking, making it significantly easier for people with alexithymia to express themselves without getting overwhelmed by eye contact or immediate reactions.
❓ Reflection Questions for the Comments
• What is your favorite alternative way to express yourself? (Writing, music, art, crying, etc.)
• If your mood today was a song title or a weather forecast, what would it be?
Thank you a lot for reading. For whoever missed day 4:
We are at day 5. Two more days to go and the program comes to an end. But dont worry it won't be the last program I make✨️💚🤗

My favourite way to express is writing i often journal my thoughts and i no longer feel need to share anything to anyone also writing quotes which help me alchemise my pain.
If my mood was a song then it would be "Quietly becoming" or "clam in Chaos of chapters" it is a made up title btw 😁
If it was a weather forecast then it would be Cloudy with mild hesitation, clearing into gentle joy. 100% chance of quiet growth.
Such a thoughtful questions, really appreciate it♥️✨
@justpari9
Thank you for writing those down and opening up. Thanks for your kind words. Writing is amazing and I do that too. Two more days to go and we reach the end of the program. I really hope you guys are all enjoying this and find it helpful
That's kinda sad but I'm really enjoying it thanks for your precious time and efforts
@cheerfulKiwi1776
I used to like journaling to express myself, kinda stopped doing that after a while though. I do still like writing poems about it though so I do that sometimes to express myself. I think music also helps with it as well.
If my mood today was weather I think it would be rainy and foggy I guess?
@cheerfulKiwi1776
📒Writing down my feelings helps sometimes. I used to journal but that's too much work. Writing about my day in a diary, still too much work. These days I just keep a diary where I can vent whenever I am feeling a lot. No obligation to log everything that happened since I last wrote, how my day was, nothing. Just how I feel in the moment.
💧Crying is another way to clear an emotional load. Some people might say it's a sign of weakness and it means you can't handle your emotions and it won't sort anything. But no, it does help. It helps you feel lighter and settled, in my opinion.
If my mood today was a weather forecast, it would be cloudy with a chance of mild rain 🌧
Thanks for this program! This is really helpful for me and I'm sure it is for many others too. 💖✨
@Luminity125
I get the whole thing about Journaling and diary. I actually keep a digital journal which helps me a lot. Crying is definitely not a weakness. You are amazing. And you are strong. Thanks for saying those things here and thanks for opening up. Thanks for your kind words.💚
I really hope this program helps people✨️
I think I find expression in relatable poetry and the pinterest articles or snips of books where some character is explaining something and i just feel that yes, that's it, that's exactly how I feel.
My mood today was early Sunny day with a bit of unexpected fog in the evening.
And this is not related to anything but i find this song very uplifting. It's the Superman (it's not easy) by five for fighting.
Lots of love to all 💞
@versatilePerson9751
This thing you said
"I think I find expression in relatable poetry and the pinterest articles or snips of books where some character is explaining something and i just feel that yes, that's it, that's exactly how I feel."
Is absolutely so me. It definitely helps and heals me so I guess it does to you too. It makes me feel less alone✨️💚
Thanks again for opening up.
Definitely the writing for me. Art on occasion, but mostly writing.
If my mood today we're a weather forecast, it would be a 50% chance of anything and everything, with some extreme highs and lows. (Not my mood every day, fortunately 😅)
If how my day's been were a song title, I think it'd be "Act. Like. A. Fri. Day."
@Torean
Hehe I liked the way you said about the forecast thing. Writing is also one way I express myself mostly. It's easier. Thanks for opening up. Take care✨️💚
@cheerfulKiwi1776
My favorite way to express myself is writing. A little afraid of disturbing friends... haha. I think writing is a great way to organize words and thoughts, especially for someone who gets scared of talking to people face to face. Haven't tried other ways yet, but thanks for sharing so many different options! 😃
