how do i stop myself from feeling anxious all the time?
i've tried journaling, meditation, but at the end of the day i'm still the anxious me. told people around me about this,that i have anxiety. and they said "only you can fix it"
i don't know how to fix it, it's not fun being anxious. i wish i didn't have anxiety. it affects me badly, i can't even do my hobby :(
@hopefulencounter Kudyard Kipling once wrote "where ever you go, there you are." That counts for anxiety, the moments of the day I feel worst is when I sit with my feelings of isolation, ill made decisions, a life that didn't unfold as I had planned and as time passes, and the opportunities for happiness fade into the past, the anxiety gets worse. People tell me to forget "it" or "her" but that's not helpful. Memory and attachment, both keep me tethered to my anxiety. When those memories surface, or an attachment I once cared for is gone, and I fear my loneliness and isolation, there are two choices, sit with those feelings and work on understanding their cause, asking tough questions of yourself, asking for forgiveness, and finally the one I cannot seem to get right, some grace for yourself.
Try to befriend your anxiety instead of fighting it.
Don’t deny it, avoid it, or distract yourself from it. Anxiety is often trying to protect you or draw your attention to something important. Listen to what it’s trying to say.
You don’t have to believe everything it tells you, but you can acknowledge it. Once you stop treating it like an enemy and start accepting it as a companion, it often loses much of its power over you.
Hey, I was diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder. What helps me is scribbling on a paper, fast paced walking, meditation (starting from 10 mins per day) and writing affirmations. Sometimes I talk to myself in the mirror which helps me calm down.
And it's definitely not fun to be anxious. I've heard all these things too. You matter and your issues are real. If it hurts, it hurts. You're heard. Don't be too harsh on yourself as healing isn't linear. I'm trying the same <3
@Yougotmyback
thank you for sharing your experiences with me, i truly appreciate. i will try to meditate more, and write affirmations again. i should try to talk to the mirror too, thank you for believing in me <3
Always <3
You're strong and powerful. We all have our weak moments.
@Yougotmyback

@hopefulencounter go to psychologist in short
If its somatic anxiety, accept.tthey Will Pass by themselves. If its what if thoughts answer the thought like what is the hardest thing that can happen? Nearly 90 per cent of time the thoughts that anxiety say that Will happen like this, Never happen in the reality.
Others strategy is Make distance from the thought. Like thought. Is just a thoughts. Come and go.
@hopefulencounter
honestly speaking, each person finds their own way of dealing with anxiety, and ultimately only you can work through what your feeling. Different perspectives can help, but the inner work is personal , so yes. You can only fix it.
I also noticed many thoughtful and valuable comments here about anxiety and how people experience it differently. Id like to share my own perspective as well.
For me, it all connects back to a kind of " resistance"or rejection:
Rejecting the past can turn into depression
Rejecting the present can turn into anger
Rejecting the future can turn into anxiety
From this view, anxiety is mostly the fear of what has not yet happened. The mind trying to predict and control outcomes that are still unknown.
At least in my experience, most of the things I used to worry about never ended up mattering as much as I thought they would. Time has a way of shrinking many of our fears.
If you are someone who believes, you may also find comfort in the idea that the future is not fully in our control. That realization can be both humbling and relieving.
What helped me personally was learning to detach from specific outcomes. Not in a way that stops me from caring, but in a way that allows me to stay present and actually experience today without being consumed by what might happen next.
Im still learning this, but Ive found that the less I try to mentally "grip" the future, the lighter things become.
I usually find my peace in books and night walks , they can fix anything for me.
Wish you all the best.
I believe when u try to stop it hurts u more . Just try to not let it affect you . One step a day. Do something while u r anxious just do it don’t think.
That’s the best way I found for my anxiety too cause it interferes with my daily activities ,so I feel u . It is okay just take a breath and act .
For me, all my lifestyle and habits and mindset were already healthy, I simply had a chemical imbalance in my brain as my amygdala was too active, so finding the right anti anxiety meds to fix the chemical imbalance was the trick. I haven’t had anxiety badly for many years, I’m sorry you’re suffering, it’s hard… but there’s hope!
Do you experience your mind racing at night preventing you from sleeping? If so, you might need a prescription medication to help. I currently take Temazepam 15 mg at bedtime. Told by my psychiatrist that if I wake up part way through the night I can take up to 400 mg magnesium glycinate (the most absorable type and most effective form for the human body). What also helps me with the physical anxiety is a beta blocker. Check with professionals before taking anything that are familiar with your entire history both medical and mental health. My husband likes the following over the counter: L-Theanine, Ashwaghanda, Adrenal support, and Holy Basil. I am in no way a medical professional so please run this by your treatment team. Hope that helps. Exercise almost always helps.
