💓 Lex’s Birthday Message 💓
Hi Cups fam!! 🫶
Guess who’s officially 22 todayyyyy!!! 🎉🎂💗 I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head around it, because if you told 16-year-old me that I’d be here, alive, smiling, healing, and blowing out 22 candles, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am!!! And WOW, what a journey it’s been.
There was a long time where I genuinely didn’t think I’d make it to 22. I struggled hard with depression, PTSD, and anxiety for years. I’ve also battled BPD, disordered eating, addictions, and moments in life that felt heavier than my body could physically carry. I’ve sat in hospitals, therapy offices, bathroom floors, and nights where I felt like the world was ending… and still, somehow, I kept going. Not gracefully, not perfectly, not quietly — but I kept going.
And I think that’s the part that matters the most. 🌷
Every disorder, every breakdown, every tear, every fight I didn’t think I’d win… it all shaped me. It taught me empathy in a way no textbook ever could. It gave me a soft heart but a warrior’s soul. It made me someone who cares so deeply about people and connection and the kind of love that stays when life hurts. These struggles didn’t break me — they built me. They became part of who I am, not something to be ashamed of. They made me me. 💛
If you’re reading this and you feel like you won’t make it to your next birthday, or like you’re too tired to keep fighting, or like your story is too messy to ever become beautiful… please hear me:
Your pain is not the end of you. It is shaping you. You are becoming someone strong, someone needed, someone softer and braver and more compassionate than you know.
I’m living proof that healing doesn’t mean being “fixed,” it means choosing to stay alive long enough to grow around the wounds. And it is so, so worth it. 🤍
Thank you to this community for being one of the safest places I’ve ever existed. Thank you for reminding me that connection is medicine. Thank you for letting me turn my survival into something that helps others survive too.
And speaking of that — I mean it with my whole heart:

22 looks a lot like resilience, community, survival, therapy homework, soft moments, and learning to love the person I became because of the pain. And I wouldn’t trade her for anything. 🎀✨
