Underrated Blessings. 🌻

Hello everyone coming across, I hope the month of September treats us all well. 💛

I came across this post somewhere, and it hit me super hard lol, "Leaving your home and coming back safely is such an underrated blessing that most of us take for granted.", hits hard because it's so so true. 💛

We never know for sure what happens next in life, even the next minute is so uncertain at times.

Practicing gratitude for the seemingly "oh but it has always been there" sort of things, can have a positive impact on us, imagine being grateful for something as vital (yet basic) as food~ a matter of perspective here, some of us take it for granted, something that is just there or is just 'supposed' to be there, but then it helps to be mindful of the fact that, everyone isn't blessed in the same way, different people have different kinds of circumstances, and experiences in life, even with something rather "mundane", I feel.

Time to Reflect:

💛 What are your thoughts about the quote I shared, or "underrated blessings" in general?

💛 Wondering if there are any other blessings too, that we don't give enough credit to? Or something you feel grateful for currently?

Please feel welcome to share anything, you like, time for a gratitude moment for us.

Do Y'all know the best thing about gratitude? It doesn't have to be anything grand, something as simple as even reading this post at this time gives one at least 4 things to be grateful about, a device, technology, internet, this app/ website, being able to see/ hear (based on individual accessibility), knowing the English language, being able to think/ comprehend/ process/ feel and so on (lol this is definitely more than 4 things, and so do you see? Another plus of practicing gratitude? It rarely stops at anything, we can go on and on from one thing to another, so long there's an openness and willingness to pause and reflect, at one's own pace, of course, doesn't have to feel forced or pressured into). 💛

Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Feel free to tag fellow 7 cups users as well. The more the merrier always haha. (Okay well unless there's the last slice of pizza left, then probably not a nice idea to have many people surrounding you😛)

Inviting some awesome people to participate, @LoveToGod @VerseArt, @Fristo, @CalmWaves3939 @GoldenRuleJG @VaryingCloud @SparkyGizmo @NoneTheWiser @fruitypond7887 @innatejoy9602

🌻 Blessings and positive vibes for everyone 🌻

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou your posts just burst with enthusiasm and they are so fun to read . Big thank you ❤️❤️

💛 What are your thoughts about the quote I shared, or "underrated blessings" in general?

We do underestimate at times the importance of our relationships and people who are there with us through thick and thin . The world focuses so much on materialistic goods and so it’s refreshing that you’ve shared this thoughtful quote :)

💛 Wondering if there's any other blessings too, that we don't give enough credit to? Or something you feel grateful for currently

I think we don’t give enough credit to having time - we give credit to not having enough time, rushing around , having unrealistic expectations and feeling like pulling stars out from the sky. We don’t give enough credit to peoples tolerance of us although at times we are unreasonable ❤️

*By the way I just love Grogu - what a cutie pie #MandoorianRocks*💜💜

Hope your having a fantastic day- always amazing to read anything by you and see you in the rooms Sunnie 🌸❤️

Lovely to read anything from you as well as see you in the chatrooms too, Golden. Thankyou for being so appreciative and supportive always.❤

I agree, sometimes we get too entwined in the materialistic things, I really do blame the conditioning we receive at times lol, hustle culture, the race to be successful and so on, it's sad when people get caught up even unknowingly, and unwillingly. It does help to take time to give credit to having time, it sure is an important asset to us (depleting every micro-second though oof), so gotta make good use of it, and this definitely includes valuing people and relationships more. I so loved how you brought up Tolerance, it is an underrated blessing that people put up with us sometimes when we are acting irrationally.

Andddd I know right, I adore baby Yoda, cuteness Yoda-fied haha.🥰

I appreciate you lots, dear friend, keep being wonderful as ever.❤

I'm grateful for clean air to breathe. Since the pandemic started it's become less underrated. I'm also grateful to people that wear masks properly around others even now because it's not over yet.

Hey @CoinFountain, glad you mentioned clean air and people respecting the pandemic still, it certainly isn't over completely, and it's so much safe wearing a mask both for us and others. A Big yay to everyone who is mindful of the same.

Grateful for cleaner air too. *high fives* ❤

Thank you for the reminder to be grateful that time exists. I was stressing this morning about chores to do and not enough time for me and the things I want to do. Its good to remember how great it is that I have time at all. Now I can be grateful for having to do the washing up because I am grateful I have things that need washing up. Not everyone does. And I'm grateful for having to do the weeding because I am lucky to have a garden that needs weeding.

Your post reminded me of an image I have of elderly rural people from some time past, sat on a bench outside their house just passing the time of day. Not doing anything, no constant technology, just being there. It's something I aspire to.

So I'm putting 7 cups down, and off out into the world. So, many thanks for giving me a reason to get out of bed and start my day. I wish you a great day.

I'm grateful for the progress my body has made in healing itself. I struggle with chronic illness/pain, but I've been doing pretty well lately. I know other people may not have the same struggles I do, but comparing myself has never made me feel better. Effectiveness is one of the skills I'm learning from DBT ... And I'm also grateful for this post because appreciating what I am capable of in the moment is definitely more effective to helping my mood and optimism. :)

Hey @JarofSeeds627, nice to meet you. Chronic illness induced pain is so difficult to deal with, it's like having the same set of challenges everyday life but make it extra with the pain. So glad to know your body's been working hard at healing, and as a consequence you're finding some relief in your day(s).

Comparing never helps anyone, I feel, and therefore it's nice to see you're realizing it also, everyone has different struggles and each of them are valid in their own way, we never have to undermine one over the other.

Yay for a new and helpful coping skill. CBT has some wonderful coping tools, what's effectiveness about if you'd like to elaborate more on it?

I'm happy this post has helped in uplifting your mood, having gratitude moments is certainly helpful in this way, giving oneself the boost of optimism. You're welcome to come back here and share any more of these anytime.❤

Thanks for replying. Sending comfy vibes your way.

Having a roof over head, food to eat are such basics in life, and yet a 'luxury' for many at the same time, glad you feel grateful for them also. @Sunisshiningandsoareyou I think that many times we're so focused on the bigger picture that we fail to take in and appreciate the little simpler things

I'm grateful for the time people give me. To talk - to listen and to learn and grow. I'm grateful for the kindness that's shown to me and grateful for the opportunities I'm given to pay it forward

I'm grateful for the people that I've met here because everyone has taught me some thing

@mytwistedsoul

Aww you're so right Soul, it's easy getting lost in the bigger picture, and losing out on the small things (I have my virgo perks here working for me sometimes lol, allowing me to give attention to details, it sometimes is less of perks though xD but thankyou for giving me a gratitude moment here also). Something that resonates alot with me and it is exactly what you mentioned here as well- "If we start paying attention to the simple, small things, that make us happy, that have some value for us or others around us, are they still "small" then? Perhaps not"

Having someone to listen to us, and be there for us, teach something to us is super amazing, worthy expressing a lot of gratitude for. I'm so glad you've found all of it here, because you do deserve so much more.

I can personally vouch for all the times you make wonderful use of the 'pay it forward' opportunities, no amount of kindness seems to be lost on you, you pay it forward multiple-fold, other times it's *you* starting the chain of kindness, extending the most compassionate, supportive, validating words to anyone you encounter~ I truly admire you for it. You deserve all the kindness coming your way always. ❤

Thankyou for sharing. I've learnt lots from you as well!

Hi Good Day Sunshine! 😊❤️ This is such an amazing post that you created! Not surprised at all that you would think this way and feel this way! Thank you tagging me and knowing in your heart that somehow, some way, your post would truly resonate with me! It does, and strongly!

I see things as you do. I for one, practice gratitude moments and daily. I like to be grateful for things. I too am grateful for even simple, basic human needs as I know that others in the world might not have them. I don't take anything for granted (or at least I don't want to be that way).

I am grateful for a roof over my head, a place to live, shelter to keep me away from the elements. I provide this for myself now but as a child I didn't have someone that provided for me always in that way. I know what homelessness feels like.

I am grateful for food to eat. I provide this for myself now but, again, as a child, my basic needs weren't met. I was hungry and often. I know what this feels like. I know how it feels to go to school hungry, to come home hungry and go to bed hungry.

I am grateful for clothes to wear. I can buy what I want but am still pragmatic and parsimonious in regard to that. I am grateful for the clothes that I have because there was a time when I had very little.

When I go to bed at night, I am grateful for the soft pillow to put my head on. I am grateful for the blanket to keep me warm and I even think about how good it feels, soft, comfy. I know that there are others who don't have this so I sure better be grateful. I am grateful for a hot shower, clean water to drink, safety in my neighborhood. I am grateful that my loved ones are safe, happy, are not dealing with medical issues as tomorrow is never promised to any of us.

I'm grateful for my beloved pet and that she is still alive at 15 years old. Owning a pet for many, would be considered to be a true luxury. I am grateful for her, I respect her and love her. I am appreciative of who and what she is, even if she isn't always perfect!

Over time, I have even found a way to be appreciative of terrible things I have been through. Hear me out, lol. 😊 I have had hard moments (who hasn't). At least going through them, I found something to learn, even if it was how not to be, how not to behave! Maybe a bit profound? Yup, I learned how NOT to be and how NOT to treat people because it really doesn't feel so good. Also, by having horrible moments in the past, when faced with hard times or struggles, scary situations, at least I have a point of reference. I can sit in the moment, know that the moment isn't easy but I can at least say "Well, I can handle this, because that other stuff was much more scary and somehow I made it through". And sit in a moment of gratitude because at least the particular moment doesn't even come close to some of the things that happened in the past.

Before I eat, I bow my head and say grace/pray while the food in front of me sits. I use it as a time to be grateful for my food as well as many other gratitude moments that happened to me through out the day and that includes people that were kind to me, helped me in some way, said something nice to me. No wee bit of kindness is ever lost on me because there have been many times when others were not so very nice. I always end it what I call my prayer "God, please make the bad people good and the good people easy to deal with". ❤️❤️❤️

Good Day Sunshine, again, amazing forum post that highly resonated with me. *high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️

Sun I agree 💯 👍 with... ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE is highly rare. Prayers, blessings, miracles are extremely underrated, in fact taken for granted.

The Divine is like a fountain of blessings showering you with benevolence.

I have experienced this numerous times, the most overwhelming one is escaping unhurt even after being smashed between 2 heavy duty vehicles in the mountains, I just had a minor pain in my left wrist. And to top it all within seconds of the accident my spiritual mentor rang up to ask if I was Allright... Gives me goosebumps even today after 8 years.

Namaste 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 ...

Lovely post Sunny, I wholeheartedly agree with the quote and with the detailed notes you took following it ♥️ Thank you for bringing this to light. There are indeed so many underrated blessings. In my own experience of having come from an abusive household and now living with people who treat me well, I noticed that I’ve been saying/thinking “thank you” for a lot of seemingly little things. My new family tells me that things are supposed to be like this, to be able to take things like having a meal to eat and a safe home to come back to for granted. This realization is both happy and sad. I’m happy I have things that I can take for granted, but I’m sad knowing that there are people who don’t have them, and I know what that’s like since I used to be one of those people. The flip side of having come from a bad situation is that while we are affected more easily by the joy of little things, it’s because we were so used to being surrounded by bad things: “conditioned to accept horror”, if you will. But, for better or worse, that makes the good things all the sweeter.

Anyways I think I’ve rambled enough for now haha; I got lost in my thoughts on this post. Thank you again for sharing and getting me thinking on these things, and as always, it’s good to see you here on 7cups.

Sending endless love like the scattering of autumn leaves,

Autumn 🍂🍁♥️

Awwwtumnnnn, I love hearing about your thoughts, and hey you're always welcome to share as much lol, okay to ramble also. xD You know I'm the last person who would ever complain about the length of some text. 😂🙈

I see the flip side you're referring to, and definitely it is one good side-bad side situation, it is indeed sad and also shocking right? When something is "normal" for others but we'd find it to be extra-ordinary and would feel extra nice about it hehe, I get that. *hugs*

As I always say, you were meant for all things fantastic and you deserve all things fantastic, the past cannot be taken away, but your present and future is going to be super duper beautiful, how do I know? I just know it. Because I know you, and I see how hard you've tried to come out of it, and how hard you still keep trying to gift yourself the *better* days you so very well deserve (and more), ofcourse it is difficult navigating life all alone so it makes me really happy and relieved always that you've got some loving people around you, chosen-family as you call them hehe, who are always supportive and kind to you, who remind you often that you're indeed in a safer, better space and you can count on them. As are we here in cups, always rooting for you. ❤ You in Sunny-thoughts always, dearieeee.

It makes me immensely happy and proud to see you doing so much better than before. Keep going always okie(?). 🤗 *virtual huggieees*

Sending lots of love backkk!❤

What a lovely post sun!<3

What are your thoughts about the quote I shared, or "underrated blessings" in general?

I loved this quote cause it’s so true! Sometimes, we tend to focus on so much on the negative things happening in our lives. Which is understandable at times. However, we fail to see that we are blessed to wake up and see the sun every day. Similarly, to coming home safely.

Wondering if there's any other blessings too, that we don't give enough credit to? Or something you feel grateful for currently?

Once again Shiniee Sunniee, kudos to you for another wonderful and thought provoking post!👏 And surprisingly, I had been thinking on similar lines lately. ❤️

💛My thoughts on the quote you shared:

Being grateful for countless blessings that we all have itself is a wonderful feeling and the same helps us stay grounded! And hence focus on things that really matter.❤️

💛Other things to be grateful about or other blessings that we don’t give enough credit to:

The list of things we could be grateful for is long or endless maybe. Life - given a chance to live - itself is something to be grateful about, where we have the freedom to play our own part fearlessly and in the best of our capacity. (Something that we all often forget to give enough credit to)
