**This past week went by pretty fast.. Did my usual... Stayed on track with most things (fell a little behind on my sleep and water)...Taught my ZUMBA classes, and stayed on track with activity... Had a few appointments that I kept up with (instead of canceling).. but Started to feel a little "run-down" towards the middle of the week, so I slowed down a bit and tried to give my body the rest it needed.
**The weather has certainly gotten much cooler this past week and Fall has certainly arrived~ It felt kind of nice breaking out some of my warmer clothes (comfy sweaters and sweatshirts) ~ It felt kind of cozy.~ And Lots of Fall Festivals in the area so its pretty quickly gotten me out of that "Summer Mode"~
**Tomorrow (SUNDAY) is MY BIRTHDAY!.. So. basically I'm celebrating the most of it "today/Saturday", with a few family members, and then gonna hit up a local Fall Festival.... (The mid-month Beach trip was kind of my "pre-birthday get-away) so just gonna do a low-key Birthday with family, some "Treats" from my Mom!, and then the Festival, and then Dinner in the evening..~...... Will have to see what I actually do Sunday on my actual Birthday. Nothing much really planned as of yet.
**Today/Saturday, intentions are to hit up a quick, morning Zumba class and get some activity in since I will be "splurging" the rest of the day with Family~ And I plan to enjoy~
HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE~![]()
@PoliteOcean
Happy birthday !! (in advance :) )
@ThankYouForLettingMeTryingToHelp
Thank you very much!
@PoliteOcean

HEY @PoliteOcean !!
How have I been doing this past week? I completed tasks. I went on track with one of them but very very very delayed with the others.
How Do I feel this month has gone for me overall? Too fast. I do not want that time goes away this fast :(
What things do I feel I've accomplished for myself this past month? What helped me to stay on track? I improved my driving, thanks to the persistance of my instructor (I would have already quit... one more time).
October has also been Breast Cancer Awareness Month~ Healthy Living Community is currently hosting the ANNUAL Breast Cancer Awareness and Fall Event. I paticipated. I have not participated before.
I will not "Participate" for ''HALLOWEEN" in the new week ahead, so I have no plans on that :)
What have been my "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? To get on track again.
What are my weekend Plans? Do Not get out of track. Advance into the next objective/track.
What would "I" like to talk about or share with you?! There are some threads in 7Cups I would
you to participate in:
Tell Us About Your Country Flag
50 Things You Can Control Right Now
Most beautiful youtube videos?

@ThankYouForLettingMeTryingToHelp
Hey there!
How great for you that even though you felt the month is going by fast for you that you were able to get your tasks completed. Thats certainly a positive! ... How great for you that you improved your driving. Thats really important and its great that you had a good instructor that stayed persistant with you. How awesome for you.
Thank you for taking time to participate in the event this month! We really appreciate you for doing so.
Sorry to hear that you are struggling to get on track again.. That can certainly be a struggle for sure.. I have found that i am having a little trouble myself doing that today after a weekend of indulging.
I hope that you are able to find your motivation within to get yourself going again! You can do it.
I think its really great that you are looking at various threads to participate in here at 7cups! Thank you so much for sharing those that are of interest to you!.. I will have to take a look into those myself!
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes they were much appreciated and for also checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! Please check back and continue to keep us up to date on how things are going for you!
@PoliteOcean
Thank You for being so Kind and Polite
@PoliteOcean Good morning Ocean! October really has gone by fast and it blows my mind how close we are to the holidays! Talk about a very stressful time of the year huh?! We are going trick or treating for Halloween and my son is dressing up as Captain America! I had a goal for this month of trying to start my weight exercises again but I still haven't done it! I am kind of really disappointed in myself... I mean I have plenty of time so why am I not doing my exercise program?! Thank you for listening to me vent about my frustrations with myself!
@baylinAnderson123
Hey there!
I too agree with you that October has gone by so incredibly fast~ It always seems to. It seems like as soon as the end of the month hits, then its like a fast "Whirl-wind" through the holidays and into a New year again!... I'm sure it can be stressful for some.. I honestly try to keep myself focused on the positives about this time of year.. (The holidays the beauty of it all .. time with family, Good holiday food, Christmas lights, and music etc...)... While it goes by so fast, I try to take in each and every moment that I can and to focus on how those things make me feel rather than focus on the "sadder" side of it and how fast it all goes or how stressful the rest of it can be (finances, christmas shopping etc... lol)..
How awesome and FUN for you that you are getting to go Trick or Treating with your son... I remember those days. I'm sure he is so excited! I miss those days for sure~ Another thing that goes by too fast. Cherish the day with your son, make lots of memories and most importantly have lots of FUN with him!
It can certainly be a challenge when we get "behind" so to speak on the goals we set for ourselves... I can totally relate to what you are saying.. The reason being so is that I too have that as "one" of my goals as well.. I try to set days to incorporate "weight" exercises, and (because I tend to be the "Cardio Queen") it doesn't always happen as often as I'd like... And I don't focus or push myself to do it like I probably should.... When this happens, I try to focus on what I "AM" doing right for myself...(Whether its healthy eating, staying on track all week with everything else, or simply getting in a different workout)..... Or.. as we talked about once before even "Journaling"!... Perhaps try to do your best to focus (or Journal) EVERYTHING you did right for yourself "each day"!... I'm sure once you take a look back on that, you will see just how well you are actually doing "even if" you didn't make "one" thing happen.
You know?!...
You'll get there.. "WE" will get there!.. And "WE" will continue to move forward and do our best, or set aside even just "one" day to get in those weights each week! Ok?!... Lets do this!! Lets make "appointments" with ourselves just one day a week to do so.
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Please continue to keep us up to date on things!
@PoliteOcean Your suggestions are so lovely and thank you for your in-depth reply! I feel really valued right now so thank you again! I am totally with you on setting an appointment with myself at least once a week to get started with my weights! And I hope you get started too and congrats on being the cardio Queen! That is quite an accomplishment and I wish I was into that! Have a beautiful night!
This past week has been really stressful, I havent eaten well (aside from a few good choices here and there), and Ive gotten sick! Not very healthy indeed.
This month was wrought with challenges, I must say. I feel alright, though. Ive almost gotten through it, havent I?
The times Ive managed to stay on track were thanks to my boyfriend, who tirelessly supports me, even in ways he doesnt know. Im having trouble thinking of what Ive accomplished this month. Ive mainly just gotten through it without crumbling into pieces. Haha.
For Halloween, Im helping my brother decorate our house! Then my boyfriend and I will join him in giving out candy… followed by he and I having fun with our friend Taylor on a Haunted Hayride! My boyfriend and I are dressing up as Steve and Robin from Stranger Things… We got the Scoops Ahoy outfits and everything!
This weekend is a recovery! Im going to be gentle and do a lot of practical self-care, like fix my car, take a bubble bath, and clean my room; stuff like that. :)
@betterchoices
Hey there!
So sorry to hear that you have had a stressful week and that you haven't eaten well and don't feel well.... Despite that, Its good that you have managed to make a few good food choices for yourself here and there! That is a very good positive in it all.
Its great that you managed to stay on track some AND that you did so WITHOUT falling to pieces!! And its awesome that you made it through with the support of your boyfriend by your side. (Even though he doesn't know it as you stated
)
Halloween decorating, passing out candy, Haunted Hayrides AND dressing up! Sounds like an Awesome Halloween plan to me!
Congrats to you on making a plan to use the weekend as a "recovery" mode!.. .We all can use that for sure. Self-care, bubble baths, and getting things done can do LOADS for our "overall wellbeing"!... Great job!
Hope that you enjoyed the weekend, and enjoy your Halloween plans! Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean Thanks for always rooting for all of us <3
@PoliteOcean
**This past week has been a lot of ups and downs. I had two migraines that took up 4.5 days of the week which was frustrating. I made a big lifestyle change and have decided to change my diet in order to prevent migraines or hopefully at least reduce them. I've struggled to make progress talking to my dad and still feel like there is a wall between us.
**There have been so many ups and downs this month but I feel like overall I am slightly more up that I was at the beginning of the month. So a net gain in progress whew. I needed it.
**This month I started picking up a few hours of work which has been good. I've been working with children with learning disabilities which I find rewarding (though frustrating at times). I started going to a new therapist which is definitely going to help me stay on track. I've also had a mental shift of deciding that I need to chose the type of life I want to live and start making sacrifices and changes to reflect that.
**I have not participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month but will try to check it out.
**I don't think I will do anything for Halloween. If I work at the school that day I might dress up but otherwise I won't do much for the day.
**Highlights this week have been working in an enviroment that was in my "challenge" zone but still enjoyable. It felt good to get out of my own head for a bit. Struggles over the last week have definitely been migraines. They completely take me out of comission when I have one and after the first one of the week I decided to make some major diet changes including cutting out gluten and sugar which is REALLY hard for me. But I want to feel healthier so I'm going to give it a shot.
**Weekend Plans: Tomorrow I'm going to a wedding of a childhood friend. I'm a bit nervous to see some people I haven't seen in a while. I get really bad social anxiety at times and am currently not drinking alcohol so that will be extra tough for me. Last night I talked to to a long distance friend on the phone and that felt really good. He makes me want to be more of the person he sees me as. I took my dog out and enjoyed the crisp autumn air on a couple nature walks and at the local dog park.
**This is the space I'm using for my health self-help reflection. I'm still taking a B vitamin, Ashwagandha, Omega 3, and 5-HTP and a multivitamin. On top of this I've gotten an iron supplmenet to take when I'm on my period. It's possible that the migraines I get at the end of my cycle are anemia related so I'm going to try taking Iron next month during my flow to prevent it. (these migraines are the worst for me so if I can prevent them that would be fantastic). I've also started doing this "migraine miracle" diet which includes excluding gluten and sugar, lowering carbs and lowering omega 6's. I'm not excited about it but I am excited to hopefully be free of migraines (i've suffered from them for about a decade). This is so hard for me though because I LOVE BREAD and pastries and sweets and baking
But I just keep reminding myself how bad I feel when I have a migraine.
@GrowingGinkgo8847
Hey there!
Sorry to hear that you've had some ups/downs over the past week. Having a migraine I'm sure didn't help with any of that. Thats really great that you are taking steps to make some lifestyle changes that can possibly help to manage that. And I'd love to hear more about what your plans are to reduce them or rid them all together!
Thats challenging for you that you don't feel like you have made any progress with your dad.. Hopefully moving forward that will change for you! Sometimes we just have to keep trying a little more. Its all that we can do is do the best that we are able.
Its really great for you that you feel this past month has overall ended on a more "positive" note for yourself!
Great job to you on finding some work and picking a few hours. And working with special needs children! How very rewarding. I did that myself for about 7 years or so. It was one of my most rewarding experiences. While I know how it can be "both" rewarding as well as "Challenging"!... I hope that continues to go well for you overall.
Good for you for taking the time to go and see a therapist. Its great that you were able to recognize that you could benefit from talking to one who could possibly help to put things into a better perspective for you and help you to get on track to where you wish to be.
Sounds like you had some amazing weekend plans (despite some of the challanges) I hope that you were able to make it through them. And hope that you were able to enjoy a great time at the wedding! I'm sure your dog also enjoyed the time out in the fresh Fall air!.. I know mine is Loving this weather since its not so hot for him outside now.
I LOVE hearing that you are using this space for your "self-reflection"! That is AWESOME.. And a great plan!... And its very interesting all that you are doing to lead a healthier lifestyle for yourself.. You should be really proud of yourself for making this steps to live your best life! Please keep us updated on how these changes are going for you and how they are helping you! (Btw.. I LOVE breads and carbs too
So I can understand how challenging this must be for you... as I have to learn to limit mine as well )... You are doing a great job for yourself. Keep up the great work!...
Thank you so much for checking in and letting us know how you've been doing!
**Hey there Everyone~ How have you been doing this past week? There have been ups and downs, but I have a good friend that has my back.

What helped you to stay on track? My friend is has been accountability partner for about two months and he is a godsend.
**October has also been Breast Cancer Awareness Month~ Healthy Living Community is currently hosting the ANNUAL Breast Cancer Awareness and Fall Event!...CLICK HERE for more details! This is a great way to do something "Healthy" for yourself while also showing support! We have ONE Week Left!... How many of you feel you will participate? How many of you have participated in the past?I haven't yet, but I will look at it.
**How many of you will "Participate" for ''HALLOWEEN" in the new week ahead?! I mostly going to write and cook
What are your plans? I want to borrow a kid and go trick or treating.
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? I feel stuck in my current location, but I am not sure how to get out. I am also trying to fight my fear of being rejection from publishers.
**What are your weekend Plans? Cook, clean, edit, walk, and research for the book I am working on next month
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"~
I just hope to keep up with this energy.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there.. Good to hear from you this week.
Thats great for you that you are feeling October went much better for you.. Thats a positive for sure. Congrats on getting your new phone.. I know we had talked about that before.
Thats great that your accountability partner is still going strong and keeping you encouraged!
Hahaha. I like how you said you want to "borrow" a kid and go trick or treating.. I find that funny because since my own kid is all grown up, I have been saying that for years. lol.. .I wouldn't mind doing that myself.
Sorry to hear that you've been feeling stuck.. that can be challenging for sure..
Sounds like you have a lot of great weekend plans to keep you busy! And Its great that you are feeling that you have energy to keep up with things and keep going... How has your walking been going? Have you been able to keep up with that and get out some? If so, perhaps you can take a photo and enter it in the Event thread and get a badge for all your hard work!...
Thanks so much for checking in this week, its good to hear from you. Ive been thinking of you and wondering how you've been doing.
@PoliteOcean This past week, I hired a new caretaker named Demesha on Monday. Unfortunately, I had to terminate her on Wednesday. I now will have to pay an $80 cancellation penalty for one of my appointments. I went to church on Sunday, and my physical therapist came over on Tuesday. I had a meeting with my social worker on Friday, and they are trying to help me get transportation through Paratransit. I have an interview for a new caretaker on Monday, but I'm worried she's going to be irresponsible. I decided to change my strategy and give her easy assignments first and see how she works out before scheduling important appointments. I'm in severe pain all the time, and I want the pain to go away. My house manager doesn't feed me very well, so Saturday I ordered Thai food.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo!.. So great to hear from you this week!
While its great that you were able to find a new caretaker I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out.. That sounds like a really fast turn-around. May I ask why what happened that she had to be terminated so quickly? Was she just not doing her job like you wanted? Boy, I sure hope that you are able to find someone that you are more compatible with very soon..... I hope that the interview with the new one goes well! .... I hope that things start to look up for you really soon and I pray that your pain starts to ease up for you. I hope that those around you that should be taking care of you manage to get themselves together and do a better job for you in the way that you desire. Thank you for keeping us up to date and letting us know how things have been going. Please continue to check back and let us know how you are continuing to do. I get worried when I don't hear from you. And think of you often hoping that you are doing well. Take care and positive vibes your way.
@PoliteOcean Good evening! Thank you for a lovely post yet again! I can't believe October is almost over! I am excited for Halloween because I get to take my boys out trick or treating and they just have a blast doing it! I do want to mention one thing to you... I got off track from my meditation a little while ago and I was afraid that I wasn't going to start again and get back on track but I did and I am now on a 5 day streak! I feel really good that I accomplished my goal and my mind isn't so full anymore!
@lavenderpeach1107
Hey there!..
Well sounds like a wonderful check-in for you this week! Its so great that you are excited for Halloween and that you have some wonderful boys to share it with!.. I miss those days. It was so much fun (and even more fun helping to eat all the great candy he brought home! lololol
) One time we went to like 4 different Halloween events and trick or treat nights that we had that same candy last until the next Halloween! lol...
I'm sure you are going to have such a great time with them. Enjoy this time with them and make lots of memories!....
How great for you that you managed to get back on track with your meditation!!.. Ugh.. I have still not made the time to get on track with it myself. Just one more thing that I need to add to my own list! You are doing great! A 5 day streak is really awesome. And I know its doing wonders for you! Do you have any "favorite" ones that you like to do? Is there a link? Or is it just something you do on your own? I'm personally always looking for some good ones myself. But.. ones that also aren't too long~
You are doing a really great job and sound really positive. Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing, and if you happen to get off track for whatever reason.. Its ok!... don't worry, don't stop! Just jump back on the wagon and Keep moving forward! You've got this!! ![]()
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean Good morning Ocean! Thank you for your lovely reply! You really understand what I've been going through and dealing with! I am so proud that I started my meditating again! And I know what you mean on how difficult it is to get back into it! I like to use and app called, Calm. I do the guided meditations with Tamara Levitt. They are only ten minutes long each day and I think that is great because honestly it's hard for me to sit and be mindful for lonerg than 15 minutes! I hope you get started on it again... I know you can!
@PoliteOcean
I have taken some time off of work to be with my girlfriend. Also my friend Emily needs me. She is still struggling with her lipodemia but is trying to do better. Read my story about her its called My Friend Emily..I believe its on the General Support Page. If not I can find it for you.
@Zulegirl
Hey there!
How nice that you took some personal time to spend with someone you care about.... and just as nice that you are still in contact with your friend Emily!.. I know I've read your thread several times on her and enjoyed reading about her and your friendship with her.... I haven't read anything "new" recently so if its something you just posted I will certainly catch up on that!
I hope that you are enjoying your time with them both as I'm sure they are both grateful to have you in their lives and for your support.
Thanks for checking in this week chica! Talk to you soon!
@PoliteOcean
Hey chica!! (havent heard that one in awhile..i like it) So yes me and Emily got to meet up at Chick Fi La again. She is doing better..lost some weight which is good. She lost about 100lbs or so. She is still super thick and her curves still impact her life.She had on some tight jeans when i saw her and the way she walked she had to like swing her arms infront of her so they wouldnt hit her hips. We ate at my house and she told me that she is very grateful to have me in her life. She is still not as happy with herself and is trying so hard to be healthier and to look her best. I think she can do it and is a very caring person.
Zuleika
@PoliteOcean
**October has been a good month - albeit there have been a lot of ups and downs. I've managed to get more active, although there were some personal circumstances that disrupted a lot of the walking plans I had made. My boyfriend was very ill and I had to take some time off to care for him, as well as the house and our pets. But I feel really refreshed - and ready for November!
**I did my very first hill walk this past weekend and it was amazing - getting to the top of that hill just made me feel empowered!
**I'm also going to reach out on here more - I need to remember the importance of self-care, something that I preach but very rarely take on board.
@DisneyFee31
Hey there!
Its really great to hear that despites some challenges and difficult moments , that you were able to manage to have a "good month" , "get more active" AND that you feel ready for a "New month ahead"!.. Sounds really positive!...... Hopefully your boyfriend is doing much better now!
How awesome for you that were able to accomplish a goal (in getting up that hill).. I'm sure that it truly did make you feel empowered! I love that feeling. What an awesome feeling.
Aww.... what a "self-reflective" moment for you!... In realizing that you also need some of what you are preaching for otherrs (in the form of Self Care!) That is something I can totally relate to and what you are saying. Isn't that funny how we manage to do so much for others that in that we can manage to "neglect" ourselves and our own needs. Great job to you on recognizing that! And taking the time that you need for yourself. We are certainly glad to hear of your plans to reach out here more!
Sounds like a really great checkin for you... and we thank you for taking the time this week to do so! Please keep us up to date on how things are going for you!
