🌞 This past week was a nice one.... I started off last Sunday getting in a workout to start the week off... Then headed out to another local Spring festival.... On Monday we celebrated Memorial Day here (as I have many 'Vets' in my life).... We made lots of good food, and spent the day enjoying and relaxing. Because of all the events throughout the week, I did not stay on track (except with Step-goals), and I was okay with that.

🌴 As the week went on, we took a trip to the Beach for a few days, (One of my top favorite happy places)~... The weather was so beautiful, sunny, warm & amazing. It was nice to just be near the water, stare at the Ocean waves, feel the ocean breeze, take in the Ocean air & simply just feel at peace.... I walked the beach some to get in steps & activity since I wasn't home to attend any of my Group classes during the week... The break away from the 'norm' was really nice (& needed)~

🌊 This weekend ahead I'm looking forwards to not having to do too much  (as I prepare for getting back on track with plenty of things in the week ahead)~ ... However, intentions are to get up for a morning Zumba class, run a few errands, then do some Vehicle shopping as it will be time for a new one again, (Although I'm not looking forwards to that whole process).... So I'm hoping it goes quickly... Then relax with movie night in the evening (as I get ready to prepare for the week ahead, & get back on track with June goals & progress)~.

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went. I'm extremely happy to get rid of that terrible horrible Chuck. He would talk to me like I'm interested in what he had to say. Like, no, I'm not.  I'm writing this very late on Friday night. Going back to last Saturday I spoke with my sister Kathryn on the phone for 27 minutes. Sunday I watched the Monaco Grand Prix for 4 hours. I really liked it. Monday and Tuesday I was home all day.  I went to the library 3 times and went for a walk by the Marina 3 times. I forget which day it was, but a new roommate James#3 came to look at the place to see if he wants to move in. He seems really nice and not weird like previous house mates. Fortunately Leslie wasn't here so I gave him the tour. He's supposed to move in on Saturday June 1st. I hope he changes his mind. My brother Greg still tries to give me relationship lessons. It's very aggravating. I can handle my relationships fine.  I was hoping to move out from Leslie's by May 30th but that's not going to happen. I've been accepted to University of Cambridge Certificate in Art History program. It starts Oct 12. It's going to take me 3-4 months to get cured of my injuries so I really hope I get a financial miracle soon. I'm wasting my life away doing absolutely nothing.

Hi Regmo~ That’s good you are continuing to keep contact with both your siblings in some way.. And that you are continuing to keep up your walks/activities & getting out for your trips to the library. Did the potential new roommate decide to move in?… 3-4 months doesnt seem like a long wait to get cured of something that you feel is holding you back physically. What injuries would need worked on? And did your doctor actually tell you tell you it would take 3-4 months? Maybe you can ask if there are any trials to help or that they could put you in to help regarding finances etc..? That’s good for you on getting accepted in to your Art program. How long will that take to complete? Where do you feel you will apply that knowledge going forwards once your program is completed? … Even though you weren’t out of Leslie’s by your May deadline, perhaps you can create a new goal date for it, And work towards that? Thanks for checking in and sharing your week. Continue to keep us updated on things.

@PoliteOcean I'm writing this late Saturday night. James#3 didn't move in today but maybe he will move in in the next few days. I'm not going to ask Leslie about it because I can never get a straight answer out of her. It's very stressful for me. Leslie put a dresser in my bedroom for James#3 and moved my stuff around. It was very stressful. I have a lot of pre-packaged food in my bedroom because Leslie is an idiot.  My Certificate in Art History starts Oct 12th and runs until June 2025.  After that I want to get a job at an art gallery perhaps working as an assistant curator. Then after a few years I want to complete my M.A. in Art History and open my own art gallery. I will hire a senior manager to run the day to day operations and I can work on art history research.

@Regmo

Thats messed up that Leslie feels it’s ok to touch your stuff (especially if it’s without your permission).

Sounds like you also have quite the thought out plan there for your Art degree. Makes perfect sense. Continued to keep us updated as things progress with everything.

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

How are you doing today & How did the last week of May go for you?  I've been waking up and getting very depressed.  I always feel better in the afternoon and evening.  I had an orientation for a volunteer job I'm starting, and my time zone was set wrong in zoom.  So my invitation for the orientation noted the wrong time for the meeting to start.  I showed up at the end of the meeting.  I felt so small.  But the people running things didn't seem to care..

I applied for a job in the next big city over and they are going through the local employment office to hire people.  So the employment office people called me and said I have friday and tuesday to get up there and fill out the paperwork.

Of course, the tire in my car was supposedly fixed last week, but the tire wasn't holding air.  So I had to get to the garage for them to fill it with air and order a new tire.  That took my friday.

My summer class starts on monday and I'm afraid.  The professor seems really nice.  The university notifies professors that I have a disability and tells them that I have a right to move days off than other students and have longer for deadlines than other students.  The professor wrote to me and was so nice.  He said that if there is anything I need or anything he can do for me to let him know.  Lots of people aren't that nice so he really touched my heart.  It makes me cry every time I think of it.

I'm alone in this world so I always feel scared every time I go out in it.  I tell myself I can do it.  Sometimes I am more afraid though.  I don't know why.

So that was my week.

🌴 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of JUNE~.... New Month means New goals or a Fresh, New OutlookWhat are yours?!.... What are you looking forwards to the Most this month ahead?!  Well, I've got several goals.  I'm exercising again.  I'm also studying Hawaiian again using Duolingo.  I want to get at least a B in my class, and I am still looking for a job.  My birthday is in early June, and I'm looking forward to it a little.  I don't have any plans but I'm happy about it.  I don't know why I'm happy about it, but any time I'm happy, I'll take it.

🌊 As we leave the Month of Mental Health Awareness & enter into June, What things have you learned about yourself and your Overall wellness?.... In What ways have you been motivated or inspired to take care of yourself and your health & well-being this month ahead?   I learned I still need therapy.  I quit it because I can't afford it, but the practice gave me a discount.    My psychiatric nurse practitioner is working with her drug rep to get me samples of Rexulti until I can drop my pathetic medicare part D drug insurance in october thru december during open enrollment.  My psych nurse prac is amazing to me.

🏊 JUST FOR FUN:... Congratulations!....  You've just won a "Lifetime Supply" of the "Last" thing that you bought yourself!.... WHAT will you now have Plenty of?!  frozen entrees

🍍What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  refer to my above answers

Hey there Tree!~

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling depressed upon waking…Despite those feelings it’s good that you find that you feel better in the later part of the day (& not necessarily staying in the depressive emotions throughout the day). That’s definitely a positive!

Despite the mishap with the Volunteer position, it’s great for you that you have other opportunities by applying in a bigger city (which tends to give more & sometimes better opportunities)…. Sorry to hear that Friday was a bust~ However it’s a good thing that Tuesday is still an option for you?! Please keep us updated on how that goes.

I can understand you feeling apprehensive about going into a new class for the summer. Im surprised it’s so soon! Seems like you just finished?! But it’s really wonderful for you that the professor seems to be a kind and understanding one! That is definitely beneficial for you!

I can understand the feeling of being lonely. I think we all experience that in some way or another (sometimes even when we do have people around us or in our lives as well)…. And it can certainly be a scary feeling. But I’m sure even more so when you are dealing with a disability that may hold you back in some ways... And I’m sure some days are certainly more challenging or difficult than others…. I think you are also a TRULY AMAZING person for being able to do and accomplish ALL that you have so far (despite the disability)! You’re living on your own, going to school, and making an incredible way for yourself despite any odds or challenges. I’m so proud of you Tree!

It sounds like you also have an incredible month in front of you with a pending Birthday (that you’re happy and excited for!).. as well as continuing to work on your goals of exercising, studying your Hawaiian again, & continuing to work on your schooling & finding a great job!

I totally think you should treat yourself for your birthday! Get dressed up, and go do something that you enjoy. Treat yourself to a birthday treat or drink (not necessarily alcohol!!) of choice, and just enjoy the day around you! You are amazing and you deserve to feel good on your special day!

I also think it’s awesome that you realize you still need to work on your wellbeing and that you are getting a discount to help with that! As well as getting samples of the meds you need! And that they are working with you to help you out in your situation.

Always remember that we are here to listen and support you! Please continue to keep us updated on everything and thank you for sharing your week with us!

You are so amazing, Ocean!  Thank you, as always, for your support and for listening so well.

God bless you and yours.  In Hawaiian, that is Ke Akua pu and Iesu pu.  That translates to God be with you and Jesus be with you.

@PoliteOcean hi! New to this but happy to join.

Last week of May went ok. It was my 2nd week back at work after a nice long vacation so it felt busy one on one hand but also slow since I'm still not fully lopped in on all my tasks and projects like usual. Mostly it felt a bit boring, like all the same old stuff. I'm hopeful that will pass though I did apply to some new jobs...I guess a work goal this month is to chat openly with my boss about advancing my career and that I'm feeling stuck rn.

For mental health, I realized I'm very much still processing my grief and that it's here for a while. Trying to give myself grace and space to process. 7cups has been my big start to address this, next will be talking to a therapist I think. I hope to be able to compile all my photos and videos into a Google album on my phone and to order a photo book.

Lifetime supply of... does coffee count? Otherwise I'm not really sure what I bought just for myself if food stuff doesn't count...might be yarn actually. Lol 🧶

Highlights of the week: getting to see and talk to co-workers I really like! Struggles: processing grief, returning to "reality" with chores/errands, how to navigate career growth and not feel stagnant, falling into old patterns with my partner.

To share this week: happy Pride! I realized a few years ago I identify as bi. I'm not out to many people in my life but sharing that a little more as I become more comfortable...so sharing it with you all here, now! 🏳️‍🌈

@SkateComet93

Hey there Comet! Welcome to the Healthy Living Sub-community/Forum. We are glad to have you here and checking in with us this week!

I can totally understand that feeling of being away and enjoying your time being in a different place, doing different things whole on vacation... And also breaking up the “day to day monotony” of things. We all need that time to get away from things. And it can be quite challenging to come back to “real life things”! Especially where “work” is concerned…. Feeling burned out or bored or even not challenged enough in your work position can certainly be a difficult feeling. I think you have a great plan in creating “work goals” for yourself! And even better idea in figuring out what your next move should be to keep yourself happy. Whether that’s finding new employment Or talking to your current employer to possibly find a way to further advance in your career! You’re going a great job of creating a better & future path for yourself. Keep up the great work! And please keep us updated on how things go!

Grief can certainly be a difficult & complex emotion to navigate & process. And it’s truly something that you have to give yourself plenty of time on, and allow yourself grace. We are so glad that you found 7cups and are finding a good start to help that you need to continue forward in your grief journey. As well as continuing to work on your mental health and wellbeing…. And yes, certainly progress forward with a therapist if need be, that can also continue to provide you with more coping skills & mechanisms to help benefit you further!

Btw… both coffee &/or yarn counts! When I was growing up my mom had so much yarn around the house! I think she herself had a lifetime supply of it! 😂

It sounds like you definitely had some struggles to deal with the past week. Just remember that we are here to support you & listen however we are able to here at Cups! And it’s wonderful for you that your highlight of the week included being surrounded by co-workers who obviously bring you joy!

Congratulations to you on finding your way to becoming who you feel you need to be. I’m sure it’s not an easy decision to navigate and everyone is different in how they need to handle it. So it’s great that you feel you are in a “safe space” with us here at Cups to do so! Happy Pride to you!

And thank you for sharing your week with us and checking in here in our Healthy living community! Please continue to check back & let us know how you are continuing to do! (Also feel free to navigate our LBGTQ Community here at cups)! :)

🌞 Hey Everyone, Happy June!~ ... How are you doing today & How did the last week of May go for you? im doing good!

🌴 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of JUNE~.... New Month means New goals or a Fresh, New OutlookWhat are yours?!.... What are you looking forwards to the Most this month ahead?! If anything I am coming into this month proud of myself and my husband for continuing to get through the hard times <3. I am looking forward to all the Pride events.

🌊 As we leave the Month of Mental Health Awareness & enter into June, What things have you learned about yourself and your Overall wellness?.... In What ways have you been motivated or inspired to take care of yourself and your health & well-being this month ahead

I have learned that I can defend myself and still be respectful but also take no b.s. either. As well as just because someone is coming back to apologize does not mean they truly mean it, nor does that mean they deserve a spot back into my life.

🏊 JUST FOR FUN:... Congratulations!....  You've just won a "Lifetime Supply" of the "Last" thing that you bought yourself!.... WHAT will you now have Plenty of?!

Uhhh that would be tank tops lol since it was forever ago

🍍What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Highlights: I have an interview tomorrow, I pray everything goes well so I can keep providing and assisting my husband with the financial stuff. Our daughter is talking more, and making more attempts to be independent. I have been doing a good job of being firm with boundaries.
Struggles: My husband is overwhelmed, and I do my best to support him but sometimes I know he needs the mental space. Last month was hard on both of us mentally, but we are doing everything we can.

🌞 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! .... WE want to hear from YOU~

I stood my ground against someone who was coming to apologize to me, only to try and emotionally manipulate me into thinking everything was my fault. This said person was blocked and I made sure that all their accounts they would make would also be blocked

@InsightfulPhoenix

Hey There~

It’s good that you’re doing well, and coming into June feeling good & proud about things. And that you’re also continuing to get through everything “together”!

That’s great for you that you are continuing to also advocate for yourself with others. By defending yourself when needed, not tolerating unnecessary things, and standing up for yourself. And all while doing it in a healthy & respectful way! And yes, while others may apologize to us, or believe that they are doing the right things, doesn’t mean that we have to accept their behavior nor keep them in our lives. We definitely have to protect our overall well-being. And it sounds like you are doing a great job there. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼

Lolol…, “tank tops” are a great item to have plenty of!…  Especially since it’s almost Summertime! Not to mention we can casually wear them around the house to work in, workout in, clean, relax & sleep in! 👍🏼

Hopefully for you by this time , you have received positive news regarding your interview?! Please keep us updated on how things went.

Despite the recent struggles, it’s a wonderful highlight that your daughter is continuing to come into her own little person. It’s such a fun time at that age to watch them grow & learn. Plus because they can do a little more, they can also now become your little “helper” when needed! And great job to you on being firm with boundaries! And deleting toxic people as needed. Sometimes we just have to do that in order to continue to keep healthier relationships. And that’s definitely okay!

Sounds like you are doing a great job in spite of any current or recent struggles. And I have no doubt that you’ll continue to do so! We are here to support you. And Thank you for checking in & sharing your week with us. And please continue to keep us updated on everything.

@PoliteOcean,

I'm doing good so far. No complaints. Last week had some family stress and a window got broken from someone's mental illness. All that matters is that everyone is safe and mentally okay now. Hope that family member gets help one day. Most of May had a few ups and downs with relationship. All seems well now.

Currently working on relationship goals with someone I love dearly. I'm looking forward to getting out more and enjoying the sunshine.

I have learned to solve myself and do self-care. Gotten over some depression from the loss of family members long ago. Glad to be happy and in good spirts for a change. Playing the piano and talking to people motivate me.

You've just won a "Lifetime Supply" of the "Last" thing that you bought yourself!.... WHAT will you now have Plenty of? - first aid kits, mouthwash, and teeth care products.

Challenges? Try to get some work done too when people are on vacation. Catch up on some work that gets neglected at times.

Hey there Moonlight~

Thats great that despite the family issues & mishaps, that you are doing good. And even better have no complaints! And that all is now well!

Relationship goals definitely sound like a positive thing to work towards in the month ahead. We definitely have to work at our relationships to keep them thriving. As long as all parties are on the same page with similar goals!… Getting out & about more & enjoying the sunshine is also definitely a plus as we get ready to enter the summer season! ☀️Enjoy!

How awesome for you that you are continuing to work on yourself and incorporate self care time, as well as dealing with past situations that brought you grief & depression. It’s wonderful for you that you are now in better spirits and doing the things you enjoy! Keep up the great work & efforts!

….I love your “lifetime supply” answer! As a nurse, I can tell you those are definitely great things to have plenty of!!

I know sometimes we can get off track with things we need to do & get done (or neglected as you said)…but it’s good that you acknowledge what you need to take care of & the tasks that you need to accomplish. Good luck on catching up with those things. And again continue to keep up the great work you are doing for yourself! 👍🏼

And thank you for checking in and sharing with us this week! Lovely to hear from you. Please continue to keep us updated on how you are doing.
