🌞 This past week was pretty standard as I've continued to stick to my goals this month....I started off last weekend continuing to finish up some 'Spring-cleaning' (as it was cloudy & dreary here & the perfect weekend to do it).... I got alot done & accomplished and cleaned out the "winter vibes". I did pretty well with the Time-change and adjusted fine.... And as the week went on, I continued to stay on track with (meal-planning/tracking, hydration, sleep, vitamins & activity).

🍀 This past week "Spring-vibes" were totally at the forefront with really mild, warm weather (Thursday was 80 degrees)! .... And the week included LOTs of activity as I continued to keep up with Group Fitness classes, appt's, & got Lots of outdoor time & walks with the furbaby~... Its been nice to finally keep the doors and windows open & feel the warm, fresh air again.

🌺 This weekend is supposed to be decent and mild.... Intentions are to get up and get in an early morning workout... And then take on the day by getting to my favorite nutrition store to stock-up for the week, then taking a drive out to an area here that we haven't visited since last summer, to look around, see what's new, & maybe a little shopping.... And wherever else the day leads us~ Then more movie night. (I'm again taking it back to the 90's for movie night)~

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

It's always great to hear that you're doing well.  What movie are you going to watch for your '90s throwback?  :)

🍀 Hey EveryoneHow are you and how was your week?... For those that dealt with the "Time-Change" this week, How did that go for you and how did you adjust?!  My week was decent because I had spring break.  I didn't work (didn't get paid either) and didn't have classes.  It took me about four days to unwind and calm down.  Finally by tuesday I felt relaxed.  I got a lot of school assignments done and applied for some jobs.  Finishing a really difficult project and applying for those jobs made me feel better.  Unfortunately, I am in two team projects where a team member when MIA.  In one of the teams, there are only two of us, so I am doing all the work.  In the other team, we had to quickly do the missing person's work and reorganize all of our work.  I can't stand dealing with children who have no respect--and by children, I mean college students who were not raised well.  I loved the time change.  I look forward to it every year.

🌈 This is our 3rd Check-in for March & we are officially "Half-way" through this month already!~... How do you feel you are doing so far in your "Personal" or "Wellness" goals that you've set for yourself this month?  My personal goals always are set to make myself overcome the attempted annihilation that life slings at me.  And I have overcome again, with the help of God.  I know that He holds my hand through the roughest times, blows away my enemies, and strokes my hair and tells me to relax for now because the battle has ended.  I have let myself have long grooming sessions this week with the intent to give myself a treat.  I can see the end of the semester and it is lifting my spirits.  I feel like I can make it.

🌞 In the Next week ahead it will be the start of 'Spring-time" for many of us, and letting go of those "Winter vibes"~... (Whether it's something physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise), WHAT is something that you are looking forwards to "Letting go of or Getting rid of" as we enter a New season?~  Tonight I put away my winter scarves and took out all my spring scarves.  I am looking forward to wearing them starting with the first day of spring.  I've got lots of appointments coming up and they'll help me a lot.  Tuesday I meet with the university career counselor.  Hopefully, she'll help me find a job.  I have an eyeglass appointment that I have been putting off and I will not do that anymore.  I might even get colored lenses.  :)  I've also been daydreaming about all the places I might move when I get a new job.

🌺 JUST FOR FUN:... It's almost Spring!.... If you were "Spring Cleaning" your Home today, WHAT would be the "FIRST" Room you'd clean & and What would be the "FIRST" item that you'd get rid of?!  The living room.  I have a couple boxes of clothes that I bought to make rugs out of.  But my life has changed so drastically, that I no longer want those clothes to make rugs, and no longer want to make rugs.  So, they'll be going to Goodwill soon.

🍀What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  I'm still working through the challenges of the MIA team members.  One of the projects is due Monday.  If this young woman doesn't show up and isn't completely prepared, I am going to crucify her.  The other due date is about the 3rd of April.  If this woman doesn't show up soon and show me something amazing, I am going to complain to the professor and drop the supposed team-member.

@purpleTree4652 awww hugs you tightly ❤ college work is hard enough, without having the extra pressure of a team member who doesn't care enough😥 bless you ❤ I'm glad you got some time to relax a bit. And good luck with the job search ❤ sends lots of love your way ❤

Hey Tree~ Thank you again so much for your kind words. And for always being so sweet~

It’s good to hear that you had a decent week while you were on your spring break…. Having no classes in that time is a nice time to unwind... And it’s good you had the time to work on & get some school of your assignments complete.. Also how awesome for you that you were able to apply for some jobs! Good luck to you there. Also I can see how easy it is for you to feel better from all that you got accomplished! You sound like you did a wonderful job.

It’s also amazing for you that you are continuing to overcome your burdens with the awesome help of our Lord! As well as continuing to stay positive (& treat yourself). While also keeping your eye on the end of your semester & working towards that and keeping up with all the appointments that can continue to help you get your ducks in a row! Keep up the great work that you are doing.

How lovely that you are getting ready for spring by doing things for yourself that make you feel good like getting those spring scarves ready! …and getting rid of the boxes of clothing that you feel will no longer serve a purpose for you! Sometimes the little things like that can make you feel so good mentally.

Hopefully things fall in line with the other team members who aren’t putting in the efforts they should be…. I know how difficult that can be to deal with things & people like that. And you have a right to make a complaint if needed. Hopefully that will help you get to the bottom of everything.

Please keep us updated on everything & your continued efforts. And thank you for checking in this week and sharing with us!

🍀: My week was rather good, but the time change was hard on me and my family. We are all still recovering from it lol. We are adjusting day by day.

🌈: I feel that with my personal goals, I have done rather well with them because I am gaining more confidence, inner strength and releasing a lot of things that no longer serve me. As for wellness, my self-care routine is always something I look forward too. I can for sure say I have gotten a lot better with both.

🌞: Well I'm actually really proud of myself as per my bible 52 week guide, it asked me to write forgiveness letters that I don't have to send of course but after a certain amount of days either rip them apart, trash them or burn them. Then after it, my positive shift guide required me to write about the lessons I learned from those that have crossed boundaries with me. Which is another form of release, but I also gotten rid of a shirt my daughter's bio got me and gave it to donation service. You could say I got rid of feeling like a "doormat" to people.

🌺: That is a tricky one because we just moved and alot of the spring cleaning had been done during the move, there was a lot of stuff trashed or donated. There is another round of spring cleaning we will be doing this weekend, and we will be getting rid of things we no longer need or trashing things as well, an it would be the livingroom and dinning room.

🍀: Some highlights is that there is a possibility that I may get a pay raise by Monday, I am praying that I do even though regardless I am happy with what I have and what I am getting now. Another highlight is that I no longer allow myself to apologize for things out of my control or when I am being forced into an apology just because someone is upset. A struggle is my fiancee bump heads every now and then, but we do work through it so there is nothing to stress over, however it can be tiring because my intentions are not to argue with him in anyway. Another struggle is our toddler reaching that stage where she is not wanting to listen or est what we give, it's been hard at times and draining. Another struggle is that I believe my close friend has feelings for me, and it's speculation because I am not actively seeking that out but it has become noticable lately, he knows I am about to be married soon so it's messing with my head and I don't want to cross my fiancee's boundaries unintentionally even though I'm not doing anything.

🌈: I would like to share that so far I have started to become unrecognizable to the people that used to take advantage of me and use me. An I find this a personal win but someone from highschool that used to bully me for my alternative style actually called me wanting my advice, so of course with empathy I gave them the advice and rhey felt better after. Which makes me happy to see them happy, but that was god's way of showing me that I have always been a gracious, empathetic and loving person regardless if the person hurt me or not, but god was also teaching me that I go off the persons approach to me, because if the person is rude and calling me names, an boundaries are placed an ignored then I remove them. God taught me that I talk to a person based off of tone and approach. ❤️

@InsightfulPhoenix

Hey there I.P. ~

Thats great for you that your week was good despite the time-change not going well for you & your family. It can be an adjustment for some but that will certainly come soon for you all over time.

It’s also great for you that overall, both your personal & wellness goals are coming together and falling in-line. They are both something that we have to continue to work on and put effort into no matter how well we are doing. And it seems like you are doing that by not only following your Bible guide, but by also releasing things that no longer serve you well. So keep up the great work that you are doing there!

It sounds like you have had quite a mix of Highlights and struggles during your week. It’s great that you could be looking at a pay raise. That’s always nice, so good for you… as far as the struggles it’s just knowing how to work through them in a positive & healthy way. And it sounds like the struggles that you are facing with your (fiancée, Daughter, & your close friend), all goes back to creating & setting healthy boundaries with each one of them. Talk to your partner and discuss what’s bothering you both…, put your foot down with your toddler as you are the parent,… and be sure that the “good friend” knows exactly how you feel. That it’s a friendship & nothing more!…(And never be afraid to ask for help when needed). And things will again fall in line.

It also sounds like you know exactly what you need and exactly what to do. And I’m sure you’ve got this as you continue forwards in setting those boundaries exactly where they need to be placed!

So keep up the great work you are doing and please continue to keep us updated on how things are going. And thank you for checking in this week!

@PoliteOcean I know I said this before but I'm extremely happy Tony isn't here anymore. I don't have to listen to him yak in Tongan late at night. Leslie and Sifa have been spending a lot more time at the house to watch over Stuart. Leslie has been great at fixing breakfast on time so that makes me happy. Their adult son Oh (nickname) sleeps on the mattress in the living room and he's very quiet. Sunday I finally got Sifa's phone number. My anxiety level went down a lot. Sifa is so rude. I really hate rude people. We need to return back to the 1950's when people actually had good manners. I went to the library 3 times and went for a walk 3 times. Ever since Stuart has been back from the hospital, Leslie put him on an air mattress that has a pump 24/7 that makes a humming noise. I have to close his door 3 times a day now. Thursday I went to the doctor. I was hoping for a referral to an endocrinologist but she said I would have to find one on my own. Most endocrinologist s are part of a network and won't take my insurance. I have an appointment with a specialist on March 28th to have him look at my jaw. I hope God delivers me from this terrible situation soon.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo~ Sounds like Leslie is putting in more of an effort to be doing more of the things she should’ve been doing all along…. That’s her job and responsibility  to manage the house the correct way. And it should be about everyone in the house getting their needs met and not just one. It’s good that she’s keeping up with things and fixing breakfast on time. It’s also good that you are continuing to get out & about to the library & for your walks & keeping up your activity. That’s too bad that you couldn’t get a referral. I don’t think it really matters what the insurance is as your doctor can still “refer”. But yes it will be up to your insurance company on whether they will cover it and if it’s in network etc… I just can’t believe you are having such a challenging time finding one. As someone should be able to help you with that. That’s good you at least have an appt for your jaw if you are having issues there. Hopefully for you, you’ll find it helps. Continue to keep us updated on how things go and thank you for checking in this week to share with us.

🍀 How are you and how was your week?

I'm good. My week was up and down.

🌈 How do you feel you are doing so far in your "Personal" or "Wellness" goals that you've set for yourself this month?

I feel I'm doing good.

🌞 WHAT is something that you are looking forwards to "Letting go of or Getting rid of" as we enter a New season?

Fears and doubts.

🌺 If you were "Spring Cleaning" your Home today, WHAT would be the "FIRST" Room you'd clean & and What would be the "FIRST" item that you'd get rid of?!

If I were spring cleaning my home today, the first rooms I'd clean is my front room and the first item I'd get rid of is a purse.

🍀What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

The highlights were spending some time in an authentic french cafe, my favourite vintage and home goods store and chatting with someone interesting at a board shop.

Struggles were keeping things in perspective and staying connected to myself consistently and remaining persistent, patient and persevering.

I don't know how I was able to work through my challenges or if I even did. They're ongoing and complex, so it's hard to quantify. I try be kind to myself, take breaks and treat myself.

🌈 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?!

I want to share that a midlife crisis isn't just for white middle aged males who buy a convertible and sleep with their secretary.
Midlife is when our main growth period is over.

And this time between adolescence and senescence isn't delegated as the time in which we need to have the crisis...it happens anytime and anywhere. Usually more than once.

The guide to handling such a thing isn't really clearly mapped out or talked about as much as it could be. Right now the best we have is the grief model, and it's recommended to use it.

Definition of grief, as posted by the American Psychological Association:

Grief is the anguish experienced after significant loss, usually the death of a beloved person. Grief often includes physiological distress, separation anxiety, confusion, yearning, obsessive dwelling on the past, and apprehension about the future.

Stages of Grief:

Denial, anger, acceptance, bargaining, depression.

As you probably already know, the challenge with integrating the grief model into a guide for midlife crisis is that we don't really know how to do this because we're still learning how to include and integrate ourselves as a beloved person in our own lives and there's no clearcut path through the stages. It's insanely complex.

Throw on top of that addictive and passive aggressive distractions, health hazards and our general mess of a life we're all living and it's no wonder things are so dire these days.

Leaning into the sharp corners and turns of life can maybe make them less taxing though. We can apparently do small steps on foundational things, even if it seems hopeless.

Dr. Alex Huberman calls these foundations 'The Big Six' - light, sleep, nutrition, social connection, movement and stress control.

Anyway. That's my TED talk.

Hey there Pond~ It’s great that overall despite the weeks ups & downs, that you’re feeling & doing good.

“Fears & doubts”… that’s an excellent response. And no doubt a great thing to rid ourselves from regardless of the season.

Despite the struggles of your week, How awesome for you that you had some great highlights to help balance things. And How wonderful for you that you got to spend time in an authentic French cafe~ That sounds amazing…. What did you get or Order for yourself or treat yourself to?!

I also think that you are doing a great job working through your struggles by just simply being kind to yourself. That’s something that many of us don’t do, fail to do or forget to do when things aren’t going the best. Good for you for being able to do so, while also taking breaks, & treating yourself. I think all of that sounds pretty amazing & a healthy way to treat yourself overall…. So continue to keep up the great work that you are putting in & doing for yourself!

Also thank you for your “insights” and for sharing your information with us on Midlife crisis, grief. the stages of it & more. I agree We can absolutely experience this at various times, in various ways etc.. And the stages of grief can apply to various aspects of our lives over the years. This is also something that is taught or can be taught for those who are in or seek out therapy. Whether individually or whether marriage counseling etc..etc…
Also as a Nurse, I absolutely agree on the “Big Six” foundations. These all surely help to improve our overall health & well-being physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and beyond.

Thank you for sharing with us this week and for letting us know how things are going. As well as the informative addition. And Please continue to keep us updated on things.

This week was about sticking to my balanced diet from https://betterme.world/articles/balanced-diet/. I managed to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my meals. Exercise-wise, I hit the gym three times. Feeling motivated to keep up the good habits!
