Noni does the push to premium rather quickly. I think there should be consideration about what counts as a supportive chat bot vs. An info bot. Noni was telling me to check the newsletter (does one still exist?) and when I asked for the link I got directed to upgrade.
I'm not impressed by this when Noni does encourage the upgrade:
Blue tick for listeners (coming soon for members)
Verified listeners are supposed to be verified because they went through a process to show they have developed listening skills beyond the basic training all listeners go through.
@AffyAvo
I was wondering what a verified listener was! Thank you <3
@jesusredeemedme2425 They are also supposed to lose it if there is a report because they aren't acting appropriately.
I hope the bar of expected behaviour from a verified listener isn't lowered because someone pays.
I am interested to know what safeguards are in place to avoid things like this happening to the members here:

I didn’t know this existed… Thank you for this!
I appreciate Noni for being available, responsive, and supportive.
The conversations feel safe, friendly, and easy to engage in.
Sometimes the responses feel a bit general, so more personalization could help.
Noni generally remembers past points, which makes interactions feel continuous.
Overall, my experience has been very positive, and I would rate it a 9/10.
@GlenM I gave some feedback on Noni yesterday. It helps alot to have the chatbot Noni there to help give replies alot actually- my replies seem more professional now than before I think. Maybe more solution based replies could be given by her but its working just fine atm :)
so happy that Noni is back!🥰
@GlenM
That's really cool news! I'm so glad noni is back.
All, thank you for the feedback. Quick update on this front. We understand the upgrade prompt is jarring. We will be adding in a warning message about halfway through the conversation that says something like, "I have a limited amount of credits per day. Our conversation for today will be ending soon." We don't have the details yet, but you'll see it go live either today or tomorrow.
The phrase “If this was a mistake” in Noni’s crisis messaging does not override our safety systems. We already have censoring and flagging in place that stop users in crisis from continuing a chat. That wording was only meant to cover benign cases where safe content was mistakenly blocked.
We’ve also heard concerns about dependency or “AI psychosis.” Noni is carefully designed to avoid reinforcing harmful thinking: she never blindly agrees, gives advice, or validates unsafe ideas. Instead, she rephrases, reflects, and guides conversations within safe boundaries - serving as a supportive companion while still encouraging real-world connections and professional help when needed.
@GlenM Thanks for responding so quickly and implementing an update warning the user of the credit limit. Please could you also then add in the link to a Verified Listener once the limit has been reached?
Also it is misleading that Noni is no longer free, but a limited chat or paid for service.
@GlenM
Actually, Noni is in my way. It takes room at the top of the list which hides the other chats that are more important and I tried several times to get rid of it.
I do not need to speak to a chatbot about my life since I've got human beings around to do that with. I am not lonely at all.
I am rather practiced with listening to people since my 20s (and I am 73 in a couple of weeks). I am also a cosmopolitan boomer, so my line of thought does not always agree with the general environment on 7cups, as many of my forum contributions show.
I understand Noni is quite good for many people here, especially the listeners who need a boost and help, however.
@GlenM
Hi Glen, it's wonderful to have Noni back, great work by the time, but I guess you need to add prompt rules properly limited to specific to 7cups or maybe related to it's context so that it doesn't bypass scope.
Honestly i missed Noni :(
I filled in the form :)
