March 2022 Community Update!
Dear Community,
I hope you all are well! March has come and gone. Is time speeding up?
We’ve accomplished a lot this month, but the activity that I enjoyed the most was an exercise we did with the ambassadors yesterday titled, “What Are Your 3 Words?: How to Identify Your Frequency." We meet monthly to catch up on things. I had a blast hanging out with our leaders and very much enjoyed the discussion. I would welcome you all to participate as well! Please find the post here and join in. We have an amazing community comprised of the very best people. I’m thankful for all of you!

Once we have integrated them on the platform, we’ll be letting you know. Shoutout to Obs for heading this project!

In the past month the academy team has been working on compiling all the different docs and forms related to the academy program in notion pages for ease of access. You can view it here. The goal is to make it easier for trainees to access all the information they need to succeed in their program. Moreover, the 7 Cups Internship program launched a requirement of forum progress reports to further support interns in their internship journey.
Additionally, we have been maintaining academy orientation sessions to support our new trainees. Efforts are ongoing to increase leadership support for orientation sessions and we are happy to onboard our very first academy PA for group sessions. You can congratulate them here. Lastly, I recorded a welcome video for our interns/trainees that you can view here.

This month, we made some more progress on the Support Team Plan. @Sher217 joined as the newest Group Support Mentor Leader to oversee the Support Team Plan and support the support teams. Also we are working on encouraging practice of active listening in the Group Support and invited listeners to trial the chatrooms as a part of a trial. As of now, we have 12 participants under this trial and we are thankful to them. Also, we updated and optimized the application, training form and guide for the Room Supporter role to ensure all applicants get all information and resources in a more accessible and streamlined way.
In the Listener Chatroom News, @AmazingNutella24 @amy working on a bunch of improvements. We are revisiting the chatroom roles application criteria, optimizing guides and training docs. We lowered the criteria to become Chatroom mentor and we are accepting applications for the same.
In the Verified Listener Program also, we made some key changes to the application criteria to become a Verifier to improve the application processing and onboarding time.
In the Teen Community News, we are making some key progress to strengthen the teen chat rooms. We are in the process of making two key changes to Teen Sharing Circle. First, introducing theme based sharing circles and second, reducing the sharing circle sessions to 6 per day to ensure better coverage and hosting. Teen Transitioning Support Team collaborated with Listener Coaching Team to scale up the transitioning support to our aging up teens. Shout out to @frenchtoastclub, @mango3 & @evelynerose to make it happen.

The Listener Coaching Team is propelling ahead in their quest for quality! They have teamed up with the Teen Transitioning Mentor lead to offer teen transitioning help to teens as they cross over to the adult side of the community. They are also teaming up with the Anonymous Evaluations Team to provide specific coaching to those who may want it. Along with these, they are participating in other quality initiatives that are helping improve the listener quality across the board.
We also have added two Project Agents @Asilentbunny and @Luke442022 to help with Safety Patrol Outreach Team and Anonymous Evaluations Team. They will be spreading awareness of the teams and assisting with outreach initiatives.
The Care Team continues to run strongly, identifying listeners who may need some extra care and support.
If you are interested in joining any of these teams, please reach out to me at @Evelynerose!

During the month of March, the subcommunity team has been hard at work hosting events, onboarding new leaders to our various subcommunities and updating roles and requirements to make leadership roles more manageable for all.
From the leadership aspect, we’ve onboarded 6 Forum Supporters, 1 Community Mentor, 3 Project Agents, and 2 Community Mentor Leaders. You can congratulate them here. If you are interested in joining one of the leadership roles in the subcommunities, you can view the masterpost here or contact myself, @Azalea98 (Adults/Teen), @Sher217 (Adults/Teen) or @KyleBorg(Teens) to get assistance on figuring out which role works best for you.
A big thank you goes to @rrretsuko for actively assisting and hosting events with our subcommunity leaders each month. You can participate in this month’s events and earn a badge upon completion here. Stay tuned for more events coming in April!
I’ve onboarded @theriverissinging as Subcommunity Mentor Leader to assist me with the ongoing forum restructuring. River has been consistently active and dedicated to improving the forums for the community and I am positive that they will continue to do the same in the new role. If you notice or experience any difficulties while using the forums, please feel free to leave your comments in this thread.
Thank you for continuous support and patience as we implement these changes in the subcommunities.
