February 5: Solutions Tab Added to Dashboard
Hello all!
Last week, @GlenM made an announcement about a site update: 7 Cups for Organizations Update. You can read all about the purpose of this update here.
This update is now live! Here is what to expect:
A solutions tab on the top bar of 7 Cups! When clicked you are given two options:
-------> Student Support System Guide can be found here. This guide contains information on how to integrate 7 Cups into your school.
-------> Employee Support System Guide can be found here. This guide contains information on how to integrate 7 Cups into your organization.
If any of you are able to build a partnership with your organization/school & 7 Cups, you'd be able to sign up using the corresponding page.
The sign up process is completely free. You create an account, give us some more information about you and your organization. From there, we ask you more specific questions about what this partnership will look like. Specifically, you will be able to choose from the following:
- Who are your listeners? Can choose from the following:
7 Cups listeners & your own listeners
7 Cups listeners only
Your listeners only
Self-help guide/ growth path only
Note: As creating a support system acct for your school/ organization is free, nothing changes here for our listener community.
Once the sign up process is complete, you will receive a 7 Cups URL that looks similar to this: https://www.7cups.com/ypoc/. You can point your organization/ school to this page to get connected to listeners and get support.
For organizations that sign up, we will provide them a kit on how to integrate 7 Cups into their organization, get the word out and ensure that their network is getting support.
What is the purpose of having this new Solutions tab?
@blissfulWaterfall17
Learn more here!
@blissfulWaterfall17 It's so that organizations (schools, businesses, other organizations) are able to use 7 Cups to provide support for those within their organization.
Please note everyone that we have added this item to the main navigation but that we still need to re-think the layout of the menus as they continue to get more complex...
One of the most complex updates yet!!!
Great. Am so excited to see this growing even better and us all getting to a higher level of support for organizations! YAY
@cristiana33 yes it is
Awesome idea!
I just don't think "Solutions" makes it clear as to what it is and its purpose. Maybe something like "7 Cups Support Systems" or "Support for organisations and education".
@SilentSerenityy I agree, I was expecting this to be about something else.
Can you add twitter also on you share button? It will be easy for me to share with my followers
@Titi1985 of like that
@Titi1985 but I think it would compromise privacy
@twistedechoes oh i am sorry , if that s a problem, i ll delete it ,plz let me know, there are people who are directly involved with organisation, i am sorry if i disrespect ,just let me know, i saw that solution tab and find it great...
I posted it with the link on my twitter , thank you very much 7 cups team
@Laura
this is really great addition to 7 cups.
I was wondering, if it's acceptable that a listener would administer the partnership account for thier organizations ?
Does your school have to sign up, or can you sign your school up?
@Laura @krinkthemellowunicorn The following is currently not an option in solutions: 7 Cups for religious communities. There are many tight knit religious and/or cultural communities, of which I grew up in which is a religious, Jewish one (ie others would be Mormon, Chinese American community, Amish/Mennonite). Having a 7 Cups platform for these communities would be very helpful, particularly as individuals from such communities
might sometimes have a greater mental health stigma in the community preventing individuals from receiving mental health care in "real life." On the other hand, because of the particular religious, cultural, and social nuances of each community, individuals from these communities might not be comfortable talking to others outside the community who aren't aware of the pressures, fears, and hardship which can sometimes exist within.
Is such a platform a possibility (maybe it can be labeled as a religious institution/religious center platform)? If not, which current platform would be the best option for such?
@SethK - it seems to me that a group affiliation around a shared faith would make sense as a "vertical" solution on the 7 Cups platform, though I suppose there may be subtleties or nuances of distinction that I'm missing.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn Sounds right. Having grown up in such a community, I'd be more than happy to discuss the various possible components and nuances which would need to be taken into account.
I was thinking that an alternative idea would be that you can have religious affiliation as one of the sub-categories you can search by when searching for listeners. While that may pose some issues and could create problems, a more subtle way of doing that would be to leave everyone the option of choosing a religion on their profile and then they'd have the option to only search for listeners within their religious group (ie if I'd check off a Jewish box, I can then search for all Jewish listeners). Of course there are numerous issues with this idea, but I just wanted to throw it up in the air as something to consider.
What are the sources for the statistics listed on each page under the Solutions tab?
@YouCanHas - they are drawn from various studies and research done in the past five years.
