Hello Friends!

In our efforts to remove bad actors from the quickly, we are excited to announce another exciting feature! We've added a profile flagging tool. yay!

Many of you have asked for a tool like this for years! Get excited, it's finally here!!!

Here is what you need to know!

1) Every profile on the site now has a flag on it (see top right corner in screen grab below)

2) Listeners with the Verified Listener badge will have the ability to flag profiles. (so the flag icon will only appear for them). Access to this tool may change as we learn and evolve the tool.

3) When a profile is flagged, the following drop downs appear and must be selected -

4) If a LISTENER profile is flagged, it will go to the back end flagging page and be reviewed by our flag team for quality assurance. (Note - only flagged listener profiles will be sent to this page. More info on the flagged member profile protocol at the bottom of this thread)

If the profile picture, bio or username is graphic, sexual or racist, we will red flag it for removal from the site.

If a profile picture, bio or username vioates other community guidelines - it will be yellow flagged and an email will be sent to this individual alerting them that their profile needs to be updated.

We updated the Community Guidelines page to make sure bio, profile picture and username guidelines are easy to find.

5) To avoid misuse, a profile can only be flagged once.

What about flagged member profiles!?

The above process will be used for flagged listener profiles. We will be creating a separate queue for managing the flagged member profiles. This queue is not created yet, but will be this week. In the mean time, verified listeners can still flag member profiles. Please stay tuned for more information on how we will manage the flagged member profiles.

As always, these tools are a work in progress, we will continue to evolve the tool to get it right. Please share your feedback and ideas. We hope to work together.

@Laura This update is so important for the community and will surely be so helpful in future heart just to note, the flag isn't working for the listeners who have banners ( on right side ) on their profiles. ( for an example you can check on mine)

Can we update the info in settings to match the community guidelines? Right now we are still being told we cannot have cartoon pictures as profile pictures.

Please choose a head shot (picture of your face), nature scene, art/symbol/image (i.e, Hope), or animal. Please do not include pictures of famous people, sexually suggestive pics, or cartoon pics. You must be fully clothed in your picture. The goal of the picture is to express warmth, compassion, and kindness. Images must be in JPG, GIF or PNG format and less than 5MB. Thank you!

@Laura Can we report those following things, and if yes in what category? I don't see them listed:
- Mentionning their other accounts ("my member account is xxxx") or a previous account ("My old account was xxxxx but I can't use anymore")
- Wrong age group ("I'm 16 years old" but the account say adult)

I see those regulary...

@vivelespatates - Great notes! Those should definitely be flagged to remind the user of the rules / to get them into the appropriate age category

@Anomalia i'm surprise it's not one of main reasons in the list, since its the most frequent one

@vivelespatates

I agree with vive- that would be helpful to have an underage flag so people don't have to email community, and either one for past listener names/other accounts, or combining that one with another category

@Laura

I love this change but I'm concerned that red flag offenses seem not to receive a feedback: "If the profile picture, bio or username is graphic, sexual or racist, we will red flag it for removal from the site."

For transparency reasons bans should be announced to the user in question.

@kindSoul10 - I believe a red flag one would receive an email explaining the removal, but I'm not positive - perhaps Laura can clarify :)

@Laura this seems like a faster way to deal with things that are of questionable nature. Great idea. Look forward to the launch.

I love this idea! It makes quality monitoring so much simpler, and it allows for easier execution as for what steps should be taken when a profile is inappropriate. I am hopeful about the impact this will make, and I have a feeling that wonderful edits to this system are on their way already. Lots of helpful feedback in this thread!
